I will be arriving at POP on April 10th. I am training for 1/2 marathon at end of April. So I want to stick to my morning routine to eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast. I would like to bring my own from home as I am doing quick solo trip. Can I use the hot water dispenser in the food court without having the All you can drink cups? I wasn't sure if it had a sensor or something. If so I am assuming I can just use regular tap water and then heat up in microwave in the food court? Also there is a loop around the lake that I can run correct? I probably should have booked this trip after the race but I couldn't wait that long. :D

The only thing that has the sensor are the soda machines. Hot water, coffee, hot chocolate, ice teas, creamer, and regular water are all still as they always were. Water is always free in Disney no matter if it is hot or cold.

Yes, there is a jogging path around hourglass lake. It's about 1.25 miles. My son also did a "huge" loop around the outer edge of AoA, then along the edge of the lake and then he looped around the outer edge of Pop. I think the big loop was about 1.75 miles.

Great thank you so much!

Perfect! Luckily I only have to do short runs (4 miles) while I am there.

259 days til I am 'HOME' at the PoP Century! We get to do online check-in in 199 days!!!! I hate wishing my year away but love that I'm wishing it away to go to WDW!!!!

Anyone have any idea what the online check in room request options are on my disney experience for POP?

At Pop now and these beds are a killer. I'm on the 4th floor in 60s facing the pool and the noise level is awful. I know I was warned about the noise level here, but I thought I could bear with it or it wasn't that bad, the music is not bad it's the screaming from parents and kids that are bad. Pool is suppose to be closed now but the noise level has not changed.

I was originally on floor 2, but the room was dirty, I requested 4th floor months ago anyways and was moved. Customer service has been great, but the rooms need a makeover. There is a large repaired crack across the ceiling. Housekeeping is a joke....dirty sticky remote, dirty phone, mold around toilet base, soap residue on sink where the soap sits, half cleaned in general.

Bus service is great though.

60 days until we check-in for 5 nights at Pop to celebrate my sons 9th birthday! Just booked all of our fastpasses and we were able to get everything we wanted at the times we wanted! :yay:

I agree below is what I posted about our recent trip staying at Pop. The resort was so nice and the best off all the values in my opinion before. Now I can't say that anymore.

Pop is loosing it's new resort shine. We had a short 2 night stay.

DH and I have loved this resort and have stayed practically every trip there. We have tried the All Stars but have had horrible experiences there. So Pop has been it for us. Sadly we feel that the housekeeping and maintenance has been slipping over the years. Here are a few photos taken from our recent trip. I missed taking photos of the Carpet (stained), Towels (Stained), Bed (Needs replacing springs shot, you really sink in), Sink (leaking from faucet). We let the staff know of the room issues but with such a short stay and not getting the room until after 10pm arrival night we just lived with it.

Now this is our experience hopefully yours will be better. We love this as our value resort. If we could afford a moderate or deluxe we would do that instead of Pop now. DH is pricing off property hotels now.

Someone spilled something and wasn't cleaned off drawer top.

Oh no! We are booked there in November! Should we switch to Caribbean? We've been discussing making the switch anyway

Oh no :( we want to stay there over CBR as I'm not sure about the buses there...we haven't stayed ay POP since 2006...has it changed that much?

We've stayed at Pop five times over the past few years. Our last visit was a few months ago. We've always had a super clean room. I think the rooms are starting to see signs of wear and tear, but thankfully, cleanliness has never been an issue.

Yay! We got the same at 60 days. I am in the minority who really like FP+. It truly enhanced our first trip with DD last year!

I hope you reported all the issues to management.

I was at POP in March 2015 then Dec 2015 and then just last week again. March 2015 was the 3rd time I had stayed there but it had been about 6 years. That stay was great and I probably had slightly elevated expectations. We had a room in building 5 facing the lake which I absolutely loved. Not a single issue with the room. The first morning we were there I met the housekeeper out in the corridor and chatted with her for a good 15 minutes. Obviously a woman that works hard and takes pride in her work. I repeatedly saw her over that trip and she truly took good care of us.

December we had the last room as far as you could possibly get from Classic Hall over in the 90's. Not good at all. The location put a damper on things as we were only there for 3 nights. I could have asked to move but we really didn't have time to waste. The room itself made me realize that the POP penny has lost it's shine. It was VERY worn and not as clean as it could be. I was wondering if the 90's is some sort of Disney punishment.

My room last week was building 4, I had to book preferred because that was the only thing left when I booked. The room was in decent condition but both the beds squeaked. It was clean but this time I brought Lysol wipes and I gave everything the once over. Overall, the room was worn and tired but nothing to really complain about. Had the same feeling of that shine being off the penny. This stay will be my last until POP does a major overhaul. If they are going to charge $175ish a night in peak seasons then they really need to up the ante here.

If you are staying a few more days I would call housekeeping and ask to speak to the housekeeping manager. Report your issues, tell them you want it cleaned. Maybe do it early in the morning before you leave for the park so they can address it while you are out of the room. Hope they fix it for you. Have fun!

Sweetpeakaris so sorry for your predicament . Sounds like you need to get a hold of the house keeping management . Make your concerns known . Don't let it ruin your vacation .

Not to belittle your problems , may I ask you a question ? Could you tell me if the bus boards are fully functional now at the bus stop ? Glad to hear that at least the bus service is good for you ! TIA

No bus boards are in place yet. I see the spot where I think it will be, but it's empty.
