Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Yes, someone in another post told me to plan to leave at 9:10 to arrive at 9:15. I guess I'm not sure it's truly a 5 minute ride though - can someone here speak to that? It's been a couple years since we've been to HS and I just can't remember how far away they are. That's what we're doing though - Ubering over. I'm not dealing with the stress of the Skyliner and trying to get a boarding group on the same day.
Yes,it really is only a 5 minute drive from Pop Century to Hollywood Studios-they are CLOSE to each other!

Pretty frivolous question, but they do provide bath soap at Pop, or only the bath gel? If housekeeping comes only a few times for restocking (not the security checks), then I wouldn't think you'd get daily stocked soap bars.

So depending on how long it typically takes to get a ride, do you maybe request one at 9 to get one by 9:10? I'm guessing Lyft rides maybe a little less abundant vs. Uber, but guessing like 8 minutes to catch a ride.

Pop to HS this morning was rough. We got in line around 8:20 and were around the corner down the sidewalk further than we were on Sunday when we got in line around 8:30. People are starting to line up earlier every day. They didn’t start running until 9:05. We were on at 9:17. The transfer station was.......not good. They had everyone get into a different line and there were a lot of people coming from the other resorts. That line took another 10-15 minutes. After arriving at HS the line to go through temp checks was stretched back toward the buses. So everyone exiting the Skyliner then had to walk in the opposite direction to join the back of the line. It was 9:45 before getting into park. so after lining up 40 minutes before the Skyliner opened we had 15 minutes to spare to try to get a boarding group. I can’t imagine how long it took people that were further back in the Pop line.
They should be running bused for at the very least opening/closing. That's crazy abd a huge reason why I'm against getting switched to Pop from my now closed resort. Very aggravating. Hopefully they make some changes soon. Good luck with the rest of your trip :)

I’m wondering about this too! Is it hard to find a Lyft at that time, I would guess the demand is high.

The day before, Wednesday, I was in line at 8:15am at POP, the Skyliner started at 9:05am and I was in the park at 9:30am and completed MFSMR before the 10am BG access. I never felt concerned, but getting in line at 8:15am felt late. I would feel better always being wherever at WDW at hour early, so being at Skyliner at 8am should have been my target.

Hi, mcomber7.

Also, does Lyft get in line with the normal cars or is there a different drop off area?

Are you talking about at Pop or DHS?

Could you please expand on your question,
does Lyft get in line with the normal cars...?

I'll just try and guess about your question is about DHS.

At DHS from touristblog:

  • Drop-off and pickup at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is right next to the Disney Skyliner gondola station (lower left corner in the photo above). This location is very convenient.
  • Due to the popularity of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the drop-off line can back-up early in the morning before DHS opens. Plan accordingly and allow yourself a bit of extra time.
  • If you request an Uber ride as you exit the park, your driver will often arrive within 2 minutes after you get to the taxi point at DHS. Just make sure you double-check that there isn’t a driver already near the Studios lot when you make the request, as you don’t want your driver having to wait for you!
  • Drivers can see your GPS location, but sometimes the system is a bit wonky. Immediately after requesting an Uber, message the driver and indicate your exact location if it’s not the main lobby (e.g. “I’m wearing a ballin’ tie dyed EPCOT Center shirt outside Building 4 at Port Orleans French Quarter. Turn left as soon as you pass security and follow the signs.)
