I thought you weren't allowed to enter the food court? I was assuming they must be in the gift shop because how else would you also pay for them? You must have to pay in the gift shop.
I just looked at the menu for mobile ordering and the refillable mugs are listed as a beverage option for $19.99 and the Star Wars ones are available for $29.99.

You maybe able to get them in the store but you definitely can get them in the food court too via mobile ordering.

Thank you. I am glad they have Star wars ones. I read previously they only had skyliner ones at skyliner resorts.

Thank you, do you get to pick the mug via mobile ordering? Color

The quote above is from earlier this week. While what happened to @MusicalAstronaut may not be the norm, delays can happen.

If it were me and I wanted to try to secure a boarding group, I would probably be in line for the Skyliner around 8:50 just to be on the safe side.
I know this is a kind of old post but we just got back on 7/29 and haven't been on this thread since we left.

We took the skyliner to HS from Pop. Got in line at 9:09. They were not boarding the skyliner yet! Line was super long and back to the 50's section. That line took forever and then we got to the transfer station and were greeted with another long line. We didn't tap into HS until 10:06. I haven't read forward in this thread or been on the DIS much so maybe something has changed but that was our experience on 7/27.

And/or do they have coffee makers in the rooms with supplies?
Just to add to others here, we did not receive replenished coffee or cups. I had to chat through the app to get more. They did leave some for us after that but we had two rooms and they only left 3 packets and cups (we have 4 coffee drinkers). So one person had to go without. Next day, no coffee or cups, so I hunted down a mousekeeping cart and asked for coffee. She didn't have anything but decaf. Another guest came out of his room while I was asking and heard the exchange, and he offered us his coffee lol. Which I gladly took!

I’m sure this has been asked before, but I’m just so confused with all these new restrictions. Are we able to go in to refill our mugs or do the CM’s do it for us? Also, what are the hours of the food court? Thank you!
We didn't have refillable mugs but ate in the Pop food court and I watched their process. They have a CM filling up cups of every soda. They set them out on a table with the name of the soda marked. You can just go up and get the soda you want. We bought a few sodas with our dinner. When I wanted a refill, I took my cup up and the CM told me to just take what I wanted.

That's what we did - my boys are 16 and 13, so they stayed in the room while I grabbed the order for the most part. We did eat in the food court once, but it felt really weird! No energy or excitement in the air like usual! The orders come in a nice big paper bag, so you can use that for trash as well. I just found that we ended up filling the trash bag and one of those paper bags after a few days. 🙂
We felt the same! We ate in the Pop food court for one meal (took our food to go other days). The one meal we ate in the food court just felt sad. The poor CM's who are there to sanitize the tables just seem bored to tears waiting for us to leave so they'd actually have something to do.

Hi, mcomber7.

Are you talking about at Pop or DHS?

Could you please expand on your question,

I'll just try and guess about your question is about DHS.

At DHS from touristblog:

  • Drop-off and pickup at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is right next to the Disney Skyliner gondola station (lower left corner in the photo above). This location is very convenient.
  • Due to the popularity of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the drop-off line can back-up early in the morning before DHS opens. Plan accordingly and allow yourself a bit of extra time.
  • If you request an Uber ride as you exit the park, your driver will often arrive within 2 minutes after you get to the taxi point at DHS. Just make sure you double-check that there isn’t a driver already near the Studios lot when you make the request, as you don’t want your driver having to wait for you!
  • Drivers can see your GPS location, but sometimes the system is a bit wonky. Immediately after requesting an Uber, message the driver and indicate your exact location if it’s not the main lobby (e.g. “I’m wearing a ballin’ tie dyed EPCOT Center shirt outside Building 4 at Port Orleans French Quarter. Turn left as soon as you pass security and follow the signs.)
Thank you so much!

Yes, the post you quoted was more than a week old and much has changed since then, especially since CB now has guests also. It seems to ensure you hopefully get to DHS and are through the gates by park opening at 10 you want to line up fir the Skyliner as close to 8am as possible and be prepared to wait until it opens around 9am.

It's blowing my mind that we have to "rope drop" the skyliner an hour before it opens and TWO hours before the park opens, but it is good information to have. I wish you could at least eat breakfast or sip coffee while standing in line- but I'm sure with the mask restrictions that is a no go these days. Knowing we will have to wait so long I will definitely need to be prepared with something for my young kids (2 and 5) to keep busy.

If you’re not aiming for a rise boarding group I wouldn’t even bother with rope drop. After a couple of hours it all dies down and it’s much more pleasant. The new normal is now a reverse rope drop see if you can wait it out and go for the last 5 hours. Rise throws a huge wrench in the plans because the 2pm drop is no guarantee but neither is the 10.

I know. I think we are going to try to Uber at least 1 of the days. But, we'll see what happens as it gets closer.

I guess I'm confused as to why the opening of CBR would make transport from Pop via skyliner better? Wouldn't that just make even longer lines at the transfer?

They will probably start running the skyliner earlier to account for the additional passengers.

I thought from everything that's been reported that they haven't changed the skyliner hrs...isn't it still just 9am (I know they will start a little early if they're ready, but that's been the case all along.) I don't think so far they have adjusted hrs at all and it seems the opening of CBR will only make it a longer commute for those trying to arrive at a park via skyliner.
