Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I tried looking around last night and for the first time I'm able to see 'Preferred Pool View Rooms' available starting sometime the first week of April. (I'd tried to do this previously but wasn't able to.) So yes, it appears that the refurbishment is planned to end on/around Mar 31, 2020. Glad to get an end date.

At the risk of reopening the house cleaning debate, we are thinking about declining mouse keeping this trip. We can just call for more towels, right? That's really my primary concern.

Yes, you may call for more towels, garbage bags, coffee supplies, etc.

I was thinking it might be a good option to walk over to AOA food court as a change of pace. Good to know they may have additional options!
I definitely walk over to AOA here and there to get other food and drink options.

And now with Skyliner,CBR and DRR food options are just a short flight away!
I've never been to CBR, so never been to their food court. I thought I read somewhere that it is a pretty far walk from the Skyliner, is that true?

It wouldn't be super convenient. Spyglass Grill ought to be closer, I think. It's just across the water from the skyliner station.

From what I've read, yes, it is a hike from the Skyliner to the main building at CBR.

I finally got a room for a single night. so I have a package/room only split stay. Do you recommend checking in online or waiting until the resort to check in to request staying in the same room? I wasn’t sure the best option. when I have previously done this I just checked in at the resort but the flight doesn’t even land until 10:00PM this time. I hope this makes sense

I have always gone to the front desk when I have a continuing reservation at the same resort, for the same reason. So far (knocking on wood) I have been able to keep the same room. You can do online check in and still go to the front desk to discuss your room assignment with a CM, if you prefer. It would be a good idea to call and have the reservations linked so they are aware of the continuing reservation in advance as well.

I know this is probably sad, but I’ve done some research into CBR and DRR since they both appear to have Coke FreeStyle machines. Here are the locations of the QS locations from the SkyLiner station.

It is a longer walk to CBRs main building, but someone said it’s about a 5 minute walk to Spyglass Grill and the walk to the Riviera QS spot looks considerably shorter.

In theory you can call but the paper says to use the housekeeping button on the phone...a button that no longer exists with the room refurbishments and new phones. The general resort phone number wasn’t helpful since I was connected to the call center and they repeated to just use the in-room phone. Fifteen minutes of time wasted since my request was somehow lost after being transferred multiple times. I ended up just dropping by the front desk and the CM there put in a request. Hopefully a year later they have things sorted out better!

I've totally researched the same thing. I hate the soda machines at Pop. Hopefully they add some Freestyle machines during the pool/bar reno. I always end up literally running to the food court at 11:59p to get my last refill.

This is really helpful information!! Thank you for sharing it here!

We plan on going to Riviera for a QS meal at least once if not more during our trip so I appreciate your input here.

Glad to see I’m not the only one! :rotfl:

Since we hit every EMH 😴 I‘m getting up about 4 hours earlier than I regularly do, so I NEED my caffeine kick. Coffee in the June/July heat doesn’t sound appealing, so caffeine drinks with our “free dinning” refillable mugs is my solution. I can only deal with only Coke a day or two and sadly the POP doesn’t have Cherry Coke, so access to FreeStyle Machines is important to me.

It is important to me too (I love the Cherry Coke Zero and the Diet Cherry Dr Pepper from the Freestyle machines).. but I am wayyy to lazy to actually walk that far for a soda in Orlando in July haha! I plan buying some extra soda with my Amazon Prime Now order.

We just hit the front desk button. I think that’s the button? I’m not even sure, but someone answers immediately and we just request whatever we need. I feel badly as we end up calling every day or two for something. Someone from housekeeping usually shows up 5 to 10 minutes later with what we need, so it’s been great.
