At the All-Stars they just have large signs,no "dediciated" security CM, on all sides of the Pools that seem to work pretty good getting the point across.

They have these at the pool also (or something simular). I wonder if it is because the actual drowning happened at POP

Or maybe they were just always there when I saw them and they don't stay all the time.

During our last trip, my DH was in a wheelchair due to an emergency knee surgery 2 weeks before our trip and we couldn't get the wheelchair into our double bed room without collapsing it.
So I can't imagine being able to get a scooter in there. There is a possibility that it may fit in a king room since the bed is further over but it's going to be tight. You could request a king room but it is only a request and not guaranteed. Since it shows there are accessible rooms actually available, If it were me, I would contact Disney and ask them to add to your reservation, "King room to allow for scooter" or "king room-scooter/wheelchair accessible". You may get lucky and if they don't fill all of their accessible rooms, you may get one assigned
. IMHO, if this is your most important "need", I would recommend that you don't add any other requests and don't add any requests during on-line check in. This will allow the room assigner to look only for a king room and hopefully one that is accessible. If you need double beds, then I would still add the request "double room - scooter/wheelchair accessible" just so the room assigner knows what you are needing.
