We got back from a nine night stay at pop last night. It was our first stay at pop, second stay on property (A OA)
We were overall very happy with the room and resort. Our tv didn't work, but we never ended uo watching it and forgot to report it! Sorry whoever stays there now I hope they fixed it first.
We were in room 358 in the 70s building. Room was clean and in good condition except for a bit of peeling wallpaper in the bathroom I didn't notice until mid week. I ended uo moving the table to the left of the tv to make room for me ECV and it was fine! My husband used a chair as an end table, since we slept one kid each and he wanted the outside side. We had breakfast and some snacks at the resort, all were pretty good. I think the food at art of animation is much better and the food court MU CH. Quieter due to better design or furnishings. We didn't have mugs in stock for the first few days which was frustrating! We had free dining but if I had paid for it I would hope they gave them for free or discounted. This was the crossover to the new mug design. There was no clock, which was annoying. I heard disney is getting rid of the alarm clocks and adding usb outlets, we had neither. The faucet was strong and splattered water all. Over the counter, where we had originally plugged in some phones! Oops. We didn't do that again.
We asked for three more pillows and they came quickly, mousekeeping was great and moved my kid's stuffed animals around every night, which they adored. We were only at AoA three nights before but they never did anyhting. All in all an excellent stay! I am sure if I wanted to be in the hotel 60% of the time I might have wanted a more posh place but I think pop had everything we wanted and would go back again.

OH one issue, and this is a big one, is that the disabled door button going to the pool and rooms from the food court did not work. I was usually with my husband but I discovered on our last night that I couldn't get the doors to open when I was alone. Luckily nice people opened the door for me! I didn't complain to the best since we were exhausted and leaving but I am sure they are aware, due to so many people using scooters on property. It's not ok that it was not repaired fast, I heard it had been broken for awhile from home one else.
No clocks? I'm old school and still use the alarms to wake up so this is good to know.

Thanks!!

I have attached a different pdf map, at the bottom of this post, that my be easier to help you determine which looks closest to classic hall for you.
Truly, the difference in closeness for standard rooms to classic hall from buildings 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 or 10 are minimal (+ or - 1 min). The standard rooms with the landscape view in building 6 and 3 may be a little closer than the back side of building 4 or 5 but again + or - 1 minute and definitely not enough to worry about.
The furthest from Classic Hall are building 2 in the 50's and building 7 & 8 in the 80's/90's.

I did get the wake up calls but could not really understand them. No sure if it was the old phone or the fact that I was half asleep!

Haha!

I know what you mean, the phone ringing scared me every time! It is pretty abrupt when you are sound asleep. Hard to catch what they were saying. I know it was Baymax. I missed the Stitch one, we say "Wakey Wakey" all the time here at the house because of the old one.

We are arriving at the Pop on Jan 1 with a room only reservation but will be staying til the 6th. The second part of our stay at the Pop starts on Jan 2 with the stay, play and dine package. I would prefer to just stay in the same room and not have to change rooms on the 2nd. There doesn't seem to be any place to ask for that on the online check in. Do they automatically give you the same room in this type of scenario? I'm thinking it might require a phone call but a little closer to check in. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this?
Thanks!

I ran this scenario by a reservations CM a while back, and she told me that as long as the same room type was going to be available anyway, you would just talk with them at check in, they will "check you out" and then "back in" but you wouldn't have to leave your room. She told me it was quite common.

Thank you. That's what I was hoping!

That is great information as we are traveling in from Indiana, and I would love to stay in our hotel and wake up in the resort. We will be a late check in as well...will that be alright?

as far as I can tell, it's not any different checking in later vs. "at 3" or whatever. In that conversation I had with the CM, I was trying to see if we got in late at night, we'd be needing somewhere to stay anyway, but the promotion window wasn't until the following day. I hope that helps...

Twice I woke uo five minutes before the ring..so I was in the bathroom and the phone went ripping through the room! I'd run in to grab it, because each time I was so tired I forgot about it. I was getting up 15-30 min before everyone else to get ready or because I couldn't sleep. Yet not once did my lazy family stir lol

Hello, this is a strange question but does anyone have any recent pics of the bottles of shampoo and soap that you receive daily.

If you google "disney resort shampoo and soap" and click on images, you will find loads of pics. The pics that are accurate for Pop Century (value resort) are the ones showing only the 2-in-1 clear shampoo and the 2 types of wrapped soap. Body soap (blue wrapper) and Facial soap (orange wrapper). I was at the POP last week and this is what I received.

We got back last week and had the same issue with the alarm clock. Houskeeping told me that they had pulled a bunch of them to replace them but that the replacements had not been installed yet.
