Flying to MCO in just 8 hours currently panicking! I had asked this on another thread but was wondering if any recently visited guest can confirm the hair dryer type in the Pop century room? Ours died and I need to know if I need to stop to get one at Walmart before the flight. Please help ? =) could anyone post the hair dryer (bag/wall mounted) when you were there and what building? I have long thick hair and dont want to spend am hour using a wall mounted hair dryer ( DBF would die waiting to go to the parks)

I'm sorry that I don't know the exact brand but they are no longer the wall mounted ones. They are pretty good size and in a bag. My SIL brought her own last month and didn't use it as she liked the one in the room.

Thanks so much! !

Do you know if they have all been changed out now.
In September 2014, we were in building 2, we had connecting rooms- ours had the blow dryer in the bag but our son & daughter in laws room had the one on the wall. I'm wondering if they are all changed out now or if they are just changing them out as the go out???

According to my SIL's housekeeper, they have all been changed out. She asked their housekeeper one day because she was pleasantly surprised with the new one and wanted to know when they changed them, did they do all the rooms, etc. The housekeeper said they started changing them out last year and completed the whole resort this past summer.

Whoa I had no idea. I think the wall ones were still in Pop last Nov when I was there. I too have long, thick curly hair and the wall ones just took forever to dry my hair, so I always packed my own. Leaving in 13 days and stoked to find that I can leave the dryer behind! Thanks! :D

We are booked in 2 preferred rooms, and requested connecting or at least adjoining if possible since we are a family of 6. When I do online check in am I better off not marking any requests? Will I make it less likely to get connecting if I ask for a certain section?

To up your odds I would not make any other requests.

I have read/heard that 60's, 4th floor and 50's, 4th floor are the most requested area's but again, that is just what I have read/heard.
I would say you have the same chance as me getting my requests and that is about 50/50
Last year I requested 50's/4th floor and got 50's (building 2) and ground floor.
The previous trip, I requested 50's/4th floor and got 50's (building 2) and 2nd floor.

This year we have requested 60's and ground floor so hopefully they won't put us in building 2 again. :faint:

I think if you get one of your requests, feel lucky, if you get them both you hit the jackpot!:dance3:

I guess our biggest concern is getting those connecting rooms. We're splitting up our youngest kids (DD9 will stay with DD30 while DSs 5 and 2 will stay with us) and just want to be together as much as possible. Like I said, we booked preferred so anywhere in there is fine. I chose 60's to be near the pool for DS5 and 4th floor for the potential quiet during naptimes.

Great that you are booked preferred since all the preferred era's are all great! Personally, anytime we request connecting rooms, we do not make any other requests, that way the room assigner can find you connecting rooms anywhere. :tinker:Pixie dust for the perfect rooms!

Now that November is here, can anyone that is there at POP right now, share the bounce back. I believe the bounce back that was shared earlier expired on 10/31/15.
:thanks:In advance!

I wanted to jump in on the subject of things freezing in the refridgerator. I always change the temp when I arrive. I find them to be rather warm so I pull the fridge out and drop the temp. Anything that touches the back wall will freeze(regardless of changing the temp). So just leave some space there or only put things there that are ok to freeze like water bottles. You can also take a washcloth and roll it up to lay against the back wall as a buffer.

I tried the small towel at Pop, but it didn't help much! There was no control in the fridge; next time I'll maybe see if it's in the back (but I don't know, maybe they have no control knob). True the stuff in the back freezes first!

You have to slide the fridge all the way out and then you will see the numbered control dial. Top left corner I think.

I am interested in knowing this as well!!

King Bed Rooms accommodate up to 2 people, plus one portable crib for an infant (defined as a child under 3). This category has a total of 144 rooms; of which 63 are Handicap Accessible. All floors have regular and handicap accessible King rooms; however the 4th floor King rooms are only HC.

Putting together our request for our later trip. This statement is confusing to me. I'm using Touring Plans to try to see which room to request, but the info seems conflicting to whats listed here.

We're trying to find a 50s or 60s Standard King room without a roll-in shower (DD2 can't take/doesn't like showers).

Any ideas?

I don't see what's conflicting. Are you saying the info you quoted and TP's info conflict? If so we would need to know what it says on TP. I refuse to visit that site though. Some King rooms have a roll-in shower, some don't.
