I don’t think mobile To Go ordering is location based, pretty sure you can do it from anywhere (someone please correct me if I’m wrong on this).

That's my understanding of how the tech is working today. What has been happening is that for the MK loop hotels and BW, the guard gates have turned away guests with a mobile order that were not guests of the specific resort.

Quoted resaons: Due to Uber/Lyft drop-off additional resort generated traffic and resort location parking abuse.

Ok cool I didnt know this!! I thought we had to have reservations for Kona?? We have kind of a late breakfast reservation on our Epcot day & i was mildly stressing trying to find an earlier one! Can we just order food whenever from Kona?

We had Kona reserved for breakfast and dinner but canceled them both.The restaurant atmosphere is nothing special so there’s no reason to eat there imo. Had breakfast on my balcony instead. It’s maybe a 5 minute walk to the GCH from Moorea. You pick a time window to order then they call your name and leave your food out on a table near the hostess.I maybe waited 5 minutes once I got there. The GCH is incredible (smells amazing even through a mask).

My biggest concern was transportation because I read it’s been spotty but we haven’t waited more than 5 minutes for a bus (did Epcot yesterday). We got to the pool around 10 last night and it was dead. There were 2 ducks doing laps. The resort is empty and it’s awesome.

I hate to come and ask an often-repeated question but I've been away from the Boards for a bit and it looks like the "search within thread" feature is buggy right now. Can anyone tell me if the Oasis Pool Patios are still a same-day only reservation or whether they can be booked in advance again?

You can book the Oasis patios 60 days as per the CM on the Disney play reservation line just the other day.🏖

Tried searching first...the room layout for a standard room....is it two queens and a sofa/twin/day bed? When I look on the WDW site it appears that the couch is in the rooms with the two queens, but the description doesn't say as much.

Yes, both pools are open.

The technical height limit for the splash pad is 48”, although I’m quoting myself below from some discussion a few weeks ago on a similar topic about how things tend to go in practice at Poly:

I have a 10 year old. They just ask the bigger kids to not go down the very little slide, but they have free reign of everything else, including the tube slide. He’s technically been over the height limit for several years now (heck, my 6 year old is at the line) but Poly has traditionally not been a splash pad where that is strictly enforced - common sense/courtesy tends to be the management style. I have on very rare occasion seen them ask older kids (think teens that really shouldn’t be there anyway) to move on to the pool if it’s really busy and they are rough housing too much, but that has been pretty isolated occurrences.

I assume you’re talking about the regular hotel rooms? “2 Queen Beds and 1 Day Bed” is what describes the large majority of Poly hotel rooms (the only other kind of regular room would be the few 1 King Bed / 1 Day Bed rooms that are around). The day bed is the couch, which “flips over” to be a single bed.

Yeah, that wording is a bit confusing for sure. Fortunately all regular Poly hotel rooms have a day bed, so Poly is an easy resort to figure out, in that regard.

I'm a bit stuck and am kindly seeking any advice / thoughts on this:

I am (finally!) returning to the parks 6/26-7/4. I have a reservation for the 1st 4 nights at GF and need to fill in the last 4 days. I don't have a ton of options at this point. (Long story why I didn't do this earlier which doesn't matter..) I had planned to stay at the boardwalk area.. there's nothing avail right now other than the Swolphin, which I might consider. An option that just popped up was Poly studio. I normally ignore studios b/c I think they're a bit small, but from what I read/understand the Poly is an exception.

My concerns about the Poly - the monorail is closed. So first question - is it assumed the monorail will stay closed until the main hotel opens up "late July"?

I think the restaurants are also closed? Kona Cafe seems open - is that it?

I can see an advantage of staying here when the hotel is closed as it'll be less crowded, but on the other hand perhaps transportation, particularly if the monorail is closed, will be tough? I assume I can walk to the GF for monorail as usual OR walk all the way to MK now(!)

Anyway - any thoughts on staying at Poly while hotel is closed? Will I be missing out on the full experience? Or, is it the best time to go? (Or neither!)

We had similar situation in March where we added a Poly studio before our GF stay. We loved Poly! We liked GF but we wished we had a longer stay there. It was during spring break and it wasn’t too crazy busy (it was at GF). Kona is open and so is captain cooks (which my family loved). But all the GF restaurants are very close- very quick walk to GF. We were at Poly and the GF (dvc studio) and then to Beach Club Villa. Poly hands down wins for quality of food and pools!!! You will love it.

We don't know. I think many here believe the monorail will reopen as soon as it is ready, it was available to the DVC-only crowd before the closure.

Kona Cafe, Cap'n Cooks, Tambu Lounge, Pineapple Lanai (Dole Whip) and Barefoot Pool bar. Ohana, Trader Sam/Grog Grotto, Kona Island, and Oasis pool bar are closed. Shopping is open.

You walk to the TTC for monorial, it's actually closer to some of the DVC longhouses than the Poly's own monorail station. You can also boat to MK, bus to MK, or walk.

Thanks so much for all fo those details. I'm booking it now and thinking on it (before it goes away), but it seems like there'll be plenty to eat and transportation seems like a non-issue even if the monorail is closed at the resort. I forgot about the walkable to TTC bit. I was thinking about saving some money and staying at Swolphin but apparently, since I've just booked the Poly, I am not going to be doing that.

We will be there next week for a short staycation and our first time at Poly! We will have a toddler in tow that is unpredictable in restaurants so I had a few questions about Kona to-go logistics.

Is there a table/chair set-up in the studio that we could dine at? We have a fold-up travel highchair that straps into a chair so I'm wondering if we could throw that in the car and plan a couple meals in the room to make everyone's life easier.

How long would it take to walk over to Kona and grab a to-go order?
