Do you remember any specific food at night from 5-7? Also, did you happen to see if they have "chicken wraps" or something similar to that during the afternoon hours? Thanks!

Yes- they had the bibb lettuce, grilled chicken strips, shredded carrots, pineapple salsa and duck sauce out each time we found ourselves there in the afternoon.

The first night there were 4-5 small plates. One was a pork belly. Another was I think a mahi mahi or something similar. There was also a cucumber roll.
The other night I remember had dumplings and a few other small plates. I will say there were all tiny. But you could take as much as you wanted :)

I did catch a few kids taking things without tongs. One was cut up fruit! Yuck! I did mention to the staff what I saw so it could be replaced.

We were there 12/9-12/13 and the afternoon offering (12:00-4:00) alternated between chicken and mini shrimp with lettuce to use for "wraps". The evenings we were there between 5:00-7:00, there was a variety of small bite options: Mahi Mahi, pulled pork, chicken and pineapple, mini meatballs, mini turkey club, etc. There was also always three cheese varieties, various breads, hummus, and veggies.

Yum! These are some wonderful additions! The last time we were CL at Poly it was just chips, yogurt pretzels and jellybeans that rotated with a few other snacks like goldfish during the afternoon hours. This is great to hear! The evening offerings sound good too! I wonder if there is a nightly menu anywhere. I feel like 2 years ago I had read one before going. I don't remember though if I saw it here on the DIS or if I saw it somewhere else.

I did see the homemade chips too. We topped that with the pineapple salsa :)
Only saw the goldfish out once during our stay.
We did not see a menu. I had to ask the CM's a few times what something was because it was not labeled on the small plates. Since I am GF- they had to check the ingredients for me. The chefs and CM's working in the lounge were all nice and super helpful.

@NYCANC and @caliope thanks! Those food offerings do sound much improved. Especially looking forward to having something of substance during the afternoon pool-time hours. We like to grab snacks from the lounge to take to the pool, and these new options will be perfect! Hope they stay....

I agree the food needed improvement in a few of the CLs! We decided to forgo it our last few stays. The cost over a similar view room was equal to adding DDP! You can't put a value on location or service though :)

Our CL days are over though since we bought DVC. Ya'll enjoy that delicious food for me!

Question: Why do I have two magic band orders on my disney experience and will both bands be viable throughout our stay?

We became DVC members last June and have our first stay at the Poly booked this coming March. We still have a desire to see other resorts so we decided to extend our stay by booking another property. We also bought 7 day tickets from themepark savers. The The Poly stay, tickets, dining reservations, and fastpasses were all linked to the account prior to booking the additional resort. Now it is asking us to select two sets of magic bands. Will both bands be good throughout our stay? Will we actually get two sets of bands?

I don't know how portable the snacks are but if you have to go boxes, that could work for the pool. In addition to the lettuce wraps, there were always homemade chips, dip, and mixed nuts and once or twice goldfish as well. On other days there were Swedish fish or gummy bears.

One thing I've not yet mentioned is that I really appreciated the caffeine free Diet Coke in the fridge in the lounge. I drink minimal soda but having access to that whenever I wanted truly warmed my caffeine free heart! DH meanwhile liked the changing variety of beer.

Yes, both sets of bands will be good throughout your stay. Bands are just a communications device with MDE and store very little data. Yes, you get two sets of bands unless you decline one.

Thank you so much for your quick answer. Will both sets have our fast passes and tickets?

Magic Bands do not store any of that information. They only communicate with My Disney Experience, which is where tickets and FP+ are managed.

A Magic Band is a phone. MDE is grandma. You use the phone (Magic Band) to call grandma (access tickets/FP+). The phone is not itself grandma.

So you are saying that either magic band will get me on to my fastpasses as well as any magic band I have used in the past which may still be active? This is a simple yes or no question. I don't need to hear about grandmas line being busy because it is being tied up by my brother calling...

I asked for a to-go box for breakfast so we could get to rope drop- they told me they did not have. So I shoved the croissants and cereal in to-go cups :)

I've always read that Tonga toast is better at Kona cafe, partly because of the strawberry sauce...then I just read somewhere you CAN get the strawberry sauce at Captain Cook's!! You just order it on the side and pay a buck or 2? Can anyone confirm?
And why can't I be this thorough when planning other aspects of my life besides this trip??LOL

Hello all! We'll be staying at the POLY for our first time over the Christmas holiday, December 24-January 1st. Anyone have recommendations for what not to miss at the POLY during that time? Would you do Christmas dinner at the resort or at one of the parks?
