Our first Poly stay is in 16 days! My entire family is so excited. We are huge Disney fans, and we have eaten at the Poly but never stayed there.

Out past resorts include the GF, 4 YC stays, Cornado, and POR. I think the Poly will be very different and I can't wait to try it out!
I hope your trip is pure delight! :flower1:

I was just there and they were working on the monorail side of Rarotonga. It looks like they completed Samoa and Niue. Fiji, Tuvalu and Aotearoa were not done and neither was Hawaii so I would expect to see that go on for quite a few months considering they were starting Samoa 4 months ago.

Would you suggest still requesting a room at Fiji (for the marina view, my husband really wants a marina view lol) if they are possibly going to be working on it? :)

Just returned home from a fantastic stay at the Poly!

We were in Fiji, first floor and marina side. We loved this room! No major noise and close to the GCH. The patio is not necessarily very private because a lot of people use the side walk by the marina, but we didn't mind. I loved waking up and watching the sun rise over the main pool and GCH. We did notice some sticky carpet and the water has that "swampy" smell to it that seems common throughout Florida, but I'm guessing correcting that would require some pretty hard core water filtration systems to be added or upgraded.

We found transportation to be easy and efficient. The monorail schedule worked out just fine, and the resort beam was back online early once which was nice. Overall that didn't end up being an issue at all and we took naps mid-day.

Online check-in was very smooth and worked well. Check-out was a little more confusing. They seem to be training some new CP recruits. They were often confused and had forgotten to prepare and deliver our DME paperwork and final folio/bill. We had done a split stay at BWI and it was emailed and very easy, so this surprised us some. But they corrected everything quickly, and it was fine. Only other service issue was that we came across a few CMs that weren't as into the magic as others usually are. They weren't rude or anything... they just seemed more worried about the super bowl than keeping up with the magic.

All of our meals were very good (Captain Cooks, Ohana breakfast) and we ate many dole whip floats. YUM! Ohana might be our new favorite Character breakfast. It was easy, fun, friendly, yummy, clean and beautiful. Just all around FUN.

Overall I give the stay a solid 8.5 and DH gives it a 9. I think we will return to the Poly for our next stay. We just love the location, the atmosphere and how family friendly it is. It is our favorite MK resort we've tried so far, and just truly magical.

Thank you everyone and maiapapaya for this amazing thread!

So if the monorail is not running, is it better to catch the bus for Epcot at the Poly or the TTC? Also, how long should I plan to get to the MK or Epcot? What time should I leave my room if I want to make it for a pre-park opening ADR at MK? Thanks, everyone! I can't wait for our trip!

Wanted to add a picture from the patio. This is from room 1313.

We booked a standard view room, requested a king bed and balcony.

For those of you who have requested a king bed, was your request granted?

For those that have stayed before at the poly, have you done the in room food service. Specifically the ohana family meal setup? How was it? Did you enjoy having it at your room over the restaurant?

We did it last summer. We heard ahead of time, thanks to this board, that the portions are huge. We are a party of 4 (2 adults and two kids, 6 and 4). We just ordered for two adults. It was amazing! You got EVERYTHING!!!! and lots of it!!! We all ate like kings and still had lots of leftovers. I have pictures on this thread on page 167 of the meal. It was cheaper because we didn't pay for two kids, and we didn't need a reservation! Kids got to watch tv during dinner and we ate on the balcony! One of our favorite meals on the trip and we fully intend of doing it again this August when we go back!

This maybe a silly question but can you do this using your dining plan credits? Thanks.

Thanks for the info!! We are planning on having a nice relaxing night on our balcony or patio. Most likely will do it our last night as I always just want to chill by then.

We had an 8:15 pre-park opening ADR at BOG last June. I wish I could remember exactly what time we left Poly but I was aiming to be in the waiting line at the gate (past security and tapstiles) by 7:45 at the latest. We took the bus, so probably left the room at 7ish. I remember the morning suddenly creeping up on us and feeling rushed (our fault). I also kept getting inconsistent info from CMs on what time the boat started, still not totally sure if the bus was my best/only option at that hour. Sorry I can't help with the other parts of your question.

Absolutely you should do it!!! We ordered it twice this week....one of my favorite meals on Disney property!! It was about $53 including gratuity, and the meal was more than enough for two adults. There is also pot stickers, noodles and veggies under the meat plate. Very delicious

Hi- our family is considering a stay the Poly during the last week of October (myself, wife, 4 yr old daughter and 15 month old son). We are between a Standard View room or a Deluxe Studio Villa with a Standard View. What's the major differences between the two rooms, if any ? Our preference would be to be close to the monorail and pool- any suggestions as to which building would be preferable? Thanks

We had a Deluxe Studio this week and worked out really well for us(myself, wife and 20 month old daughter) The split bathroom was really convenient for us since we got to use one side of it as a bedroom to put my daughter's crib in...I think your 4 year old will love the twin bed that opens up underneath the tv stand. The room was in Tokelau and walking to TTC and GCH was only a short walk

I am down to 2 days! Checking in on Friday. Does anyone know which Longhouse exterior is being worked on right now?

On our way home from our trip..we were there for 8 days and the only construction we noticed was the E pool.

Sorry, not really sure on the price difference since we only had the room service option. We ordered the meal for one person by the way

I checked page 166, 167, and 168. Would love to see meal for two to compare to above pic of meal for one.

Here is another pic of the Ohana Feast...a must do for everyone staying at the Poly!
