We are at the Poly right now, we are staying CL and got a lovely room - #3516 with a stunning panoramic view of the castle. CL staff are lovely as well as the mousekeeping staff. DH and I are having a resort day sitting on our balcony, soft breezes, and beautiful skies. We have not had to pull out the jeans or long sleeves yet. I would not hesitate to stay at the Poly again. I will post a full review when we get home.

Will anyone be checking in around Dec. 7? We have extra bottled water...1 full 12 pack of water and possibly some extra Tink gifts. Let me know if you would like to have it,and I will leave it with the concierge with your name and date of arrival.

I checked out tikiman's activities listing. Wow! It looks like many resort specific activities have been added since our last stay a year and a half ago. The resort activities guide he links to is, however, Kenny the Pirate, who lists the November guide. Anyone else have a source for the December guide, which includes special holiday activities?

I scrolled down (on the Tikiman Facebook page) and someone had copied the December guide, but what I was seeing as far as out of the ordinary stuff (Christmas specific) was all for the last two weeks of December. Like Characters in the lobby, Santa, etc

Just wanted to comment on our great stay in the new villas.

We had a standard view in Moorea. They are soo nice. Moorea is right by the pathway to the TTC so we caught the monorail to both MK and Epcot from there. There is also a convenient, separate, parking lot beside it/short walk. The walk to Ohana and Capt. Cooks was not bad either. We had plenty of coffee with the full-size, in-room, coffee maker (don't forget the filters if you are bringing your own coffee though, wish they were included). The sofa bed wasn't bad either. No seam in your back like other's we have had to sleep on. The fold-out bed was perfect for our almost 3 year old little grandson too.

The only negative I have is that we had patio rooms and I like a balcony for more privacy. I think we are considering "buying-in" after this experience. Can't think of a better home resort. :)

Glad you had a great stay! Good luck with your decision about buying into DVC :wizard:.

Glad you're having a great time and enjoying the Poly. Looking forward to your full review :flower3:.

Just a pic I took few weeks ago...View attachment 138942

Nice pic, thanks for posting :).

Just got back from the Poly last night.
So sad to be gone!
We had a CL room #3502 with an amazing view.
Everyone there was very nice and willing to go out of the way for us. I'm going to post our trip report in the proper forum, so that everyone can read about it.

You couldn't hear any of the construction unless you were actually walking past the fence. Most of the noise was just cutoff saws and metal grinders. I asked a CM who we got to know well, and they said that the Oasis Pool was way ahead of schedule, unlike the lobby and the Lava Pool which were always behind. He also confirmed that the Oasis Pool will be for all Poly guests and not just DVC. It will also be gated and you'll need a magic band to enter just like the Lava Pool.
I asked about a date of completion and he said that Disney does not tell CM's for fear that the information would get out to the public.

Got back Saturday from 6 glorious days at the Poly, and wanted to report that the pool gate was working (locked) every time we went to use it! :)

Also wante to share a few transportation tips. We had a PPO ADR at Epcot one morning. I was under the impression that busses to Epcot would be running prior to the monorail opening (Epcot monorail starts at 8), but they don't come to Poly. Had to walk to TTC and pick up an Epcot bus there. No big deal, but wasted a lot of time trying to figure this out!

And if the monorail is down, don't wait for a boat! They pick up at GF first, and arrive at Poly full! Walk to TTC and catch a bus to MK from there (they were NOT sending MK busses to Poly when the monorail was down on Saturday). Again, not a big deal, but would have been nice to know before waiting for a boat, then walking to the Poly bus stop, then finally walking to TTC. Lost at least a half hour of park time. This was the only time we had any monorail issues, but of course it was on our last day!!

Overall, though, we had an amazing trip. Poly is gorgeous as always, the new pool is amazing, and the smell of the lobby.....OMG! Even my kids were breathing it in every time we entered :) We were in Fiji, so not bothered by any construction noise, but we barely noticed anything when walking by, either.

Ahead of schedule, never heard those words used to describe Disney construction before!:lmao:
Did you book a lagoon view room?
Thanks for the info and so glad you had a great trip!

Welcome home!
Thanks for the transportation tips. It sounds like if you have an early morning ADR or the monorail is down, walk to the TTC and catch a bus there.
Did you request Figi? Did you have a marina or luau view?

Glad you had a great time and that the construction wasn't an issue for you. Looking forward to reading your review :goodvibes.

Is there anywhere to park a 33' RV with tow dolly at Poly? We are staying there for 8 nights in July and I am wondering about available parking for a vehicle/trailer this size.

When the big truck that had the old Monorail section on a flat bed trailer was parked at the Polynesian it was along the back edge of the East Parking lot. I would suggest parking it there. You won't find a spot in the main lot.

Yes, that would he my recommendation!

I did request Fiji and we had a luau view. It was beautiful. I also requested either first or third floor, as I like having the outdoor space when the kids are napping, but ended up with a second floor room. We weren't really in the room enough for it to matter much, and didn't get our room assignment until 3:00 on the dot, so I didn't try to change it.

Not sure if anyone posted this but Tikiman is cautioning people that there are very reliable reports (his friend who is there now) saying that life guards are asking for Magicbands to ensure people are in fact guests of the Poly and children under 12 with no adult present are being asked to leave guest of the Poly or not.

We had to scan our bands to enter the pool every day last week. Glad they are finally cracking down!

Do you happen to know how they define "adult" for pool purposes? Is it 14 like in the parks or actual legal adult? Just want to know if we'd be breaking any rules if I let my teens take my little one (7) down to the pool.

I'm not sure. I have to imagine they are saying adult adult. I would have to see what the sign says at the Poly to see what age they would consider adult.
