Hi All....just read a post that indicated that when you are sitting on the balcony you do not have a view....because the railings block the view. Is this true?

We're going to be staying at the Poly in October with theme park view rooms. The online check in date is approaching and I'm trying to confirm which longhouse I should be requesting. I've seen confusing info on which ones have TPVs and was wondering if anyone could confirm which ones are actual options to choose from?

I would request Tuvalu for the very best non-CL TPVs!

it obstructs your view, yes.

We're heading down the last week of August and originally I had put a room request to be in Samoa overlooking the Lava Pool. I know there's limited availability and do not want to chance being placed over the construction site. Of those of you who have been in multiple longhouses, am I better off requesting Fiji or Aotearoa? Thanks :)

What size are the in room safes at Moorea? We want to make sure they're large enough to lock up all our cash:rotfl2::rotfl2:Actually want to make sure it's large enough to lock up the iPads while (2 plus a mini) while we're in the parks.
5 more days!!!

I think you'd have a better chance of being put in Aotearoa, b/c it is much bigger.
But go for Fiji and see what happens. You can always ask for what else is available at check-in.
Good luck.

This has been MY experience at AKL, WL and CR. But, not DH's. He's taller. He can see over the balcony rail. I can't. DGD has no problems, she just looks through the rail.

So my DH just surprised me with a stay here for our family in December. We were going to stay here last trip but it was right in the middle of their biggest construction period and opted out. From what we've been told most of that is done now (minus one pool) so fingers crossed. Either way I'm just so excited to be going! And he got Club Level which in all our trips we have never experienced! Hope to learn a lot from this thread!

So I originally put in a request for King bed (2 adults and a 3yo), now debating if I want that or 2 queens. What would you do? Do you find it nice to have that extra bed in the room even if your child sleeps on the pull out (just to put stuff on or for the child instead of pull out)?

No, we prefer 1 King vs. 2 queens, even when DGD sleeps on the daybed.

It's not like having a solid wall enclosed balcony like some resort have. Looking below you can see thru the slats, it's just straight ahead the railing can be eye level.

oh, okay, that's helpful...I was worried there for a minute!

I know the Polynesian is under construction. When is it to be done? We are coming at the end of January. I saw that a pool is closed and wanted to know if it is the pool with the slide? Also when do the post what pool refurbished they are doing over the winter? Is the one with the slide normally one of them closed at poly? Thanks for any help.

The main pool, the one with the slide, has just been remodeled and is open. Seeing as it just reopened at the start of summer it won't be getting a refurb.
The quiet pool is the one that was just closed.

So we are doing a split stay between WL and the Poly. For our time at the Py, I booked club level. My husband is meeting us at the Polynesian and has no idea we are club level! Any ideas as to how I can surprise him when he arrives??? Thanks!

Here's a photo (from a while ago -- notice no bungalows blocking our lovely view?) that shows that, yes, the balcony railings can obstruct your views, but they don't block it entirely... Also, I thought I'd share one of my favorite pics from our stay at the Poly. Loved that view!

I'm checking in to Deluxe Studio tomorrow, trying to pack right now. Quick Question - do I really need to pack a power strip? I'm hoping since it's newer, they added USB charging ports. I am traveling with 2 teen boys and we will have numerous electronic items to charge. TIA
