The East pool did have a bathroom - a very nice large one, that I've used to change in many times on my last day before heading home. Not sure if that little building with the bathroom will stay after the construction. It didn't have a shower but did have a very large stall for changing.

Really? Huh. Never noticed.

The Lava/Volcano pool was closed in January. So that would have been the East (quiet) pool, which does not have a bathroom.
Sorry, was a few January's ago, so both pools were open. I should have been more specific.

Hello everyone! Another Poly lover here. Our family has been staying at this wonderful resort since the early 70's. When I saw the DVC resort at the Poly announced, I bought additional DVC points to be able to stay there more often. I know the Bungalows have gotten some criticism for ruining the view from the Long Houses but the concept of the Bungalows is so unique that I was hooked.

I booked our first DVC Poly vacation arriving on May 22 and we're staying in a Bungalow. I haven't seen any first hand reports from folks staying at the Bungalows so I am planning on posting my experience while I'm there with pictures and videos. We're not going to any parks do I should have some time to provide a good amount of information. People can write in questions while I'm there.

We can't wait to see the resort again and experience the new things it has to offer. See you soon!

We are staying at the Polynesian Deluxe Studios in June. It will be our first time at the Polynesian. We are super excited! My question is about the coffee maker and coffee supplies. Is it a full size coffee pot? Should I bring filters and coffee? Or is it provided? It's our first time renting DVC points and I'm not sure what to expect. Thank you in advance!

The coffeemakers are the Cuisenart Pod ones. Housekeeping will supply you with more pods.

I think the studios have regular coffee pots like other DVC studios do not pod Brewers like the regular hotel rooms. Staying on DVC points means you will only get one coffee pack (containing coffee/filter and sweetener/creamer) it is $3.00 for any additonal packs
I think from reading other DVC resort info it is a coffee maker that will take a regular basket type filter (flat bottom)

DVC units have a full size coffee maker. There is a coffee packet which includes a day or 2 worth of supplies, definitely not enough to last until day 4 when it will be replenished with your trash/towel service. If you are an everyday coffee drinker you should bring your own filters and coffee.

How long are you there? We check into a Studio on the 30th! First DVC stay!

Just 3 nights this time, sorry we'll miss you. Look for my posts beginning 5/22!

Anyone going to be there over Memorial Day Weekend???????

Aloha! And thank you everyone. We desperately need our coffee in the morning. This is very helpful.

After splitting up our stay at POR with a few nights at the Poly, I decided I'd pop on here and ask a quick question! -- I'm very new to the Poly thread  I'm so sorry if this has already been discussed!...

If I have a club level room with a theme park view, am I guaranteed a balcony?

The upside is you can bring whatever coffee you like to enjoy to sit on the patio/balcony before you begin your magical day.
I second that and looking forward the the balcony of the Bungalow.

I'm surprised at how many people seem to go for CL rooms at the Poly, actually at any resort in general. With their cost and assuming most of us who vacation at Disney are middle-class people, what is the draw/appeal? And how does it pan out financially for those of you who choose CL? Do you take shorter vacations? Or go less often? Or is there something I'm totally missing? The more I read, the more curious I am.

Personally, we're doing a split stay. When it came to booking a CL room, I didn't have a choice. I would have preferred the regular room with the theme park view, however, no rooms were available during that time. I've always wanted to try a room with a theme park view; we don't go to Disney often, and probably won't for quite some time... So we decided to financially bite the bullet.
