We used the chair coming with the desk, and a chair from the balcony.

How long would it take to walk from the furthest building (Fiji?) to the TTC? is it like POR Riverside where everything is really spread out or is the Poly relatively compact like GF?

Fiji is a 30 seconds walk to the GCH... I would say 5 minutes? It's smaller than POR.

The resort is much more compact than POR. You can easily get from Fiji to TTC in less than 5 min. at a regular pace. Its so beautiful ( especially at night) we take our time. That being said however, with the construction at the East Pool & Tokelau, not sure how/if they're re-routing around there. So it may take a little longer with construction walls up.

Maybe not if you meander through the longhouse paths - did you know you can shoot out the front & right to the TTC? Unless that has changed or been re-routed with construction. At one point this year out the front (or via the side door of lobby) was the only option with the construction. Not as scenic as the paths through the longhouses, but much quicker.

Yes, we're hoping that it was a kid...

It is great to get 'Ohana in your room, especially when you have been to 'Ohana many times, love the food but need a little change.

By the way, I went to Kona Cafe twice in 24 hours. The food there is outstanding! We've had the Chicken Island sandwich and the Teriyaki steak... Wow! That restaurant doesn't get the attention it really deserves.

Great tip on 'Ohana room service! We couldn't get a good ADR time for our August trip, so maybe we'll order this for 2 one night and all 4 of us can enjoy! Also, ITA about Kona. It's amazing.

Its never taken us more then 5-6 minutes from the Fiji end to the TT&C. Resort is more compact then it looks.

Also agree Ohana take out is fabulous! We do love the atmosphere at Ohana but once when one of our party was under the weather we did this, and it was great. Lots of food.

You call the in-room dining. It's called the 'Ohana Twilight Fest if I remember correctly. 40$ per adult with 18% tip + a 3$ fee for delivery.

I ordered food for 1 (you don't have to order food for the whole family like you do at the restaurant) and I received food for 2 (a whole bread, a huge bowl of salad, etc. In the end, my husband helped but a lot of food went to waste) the only downside is that you don't really get to choose how much you receive from each kind like youwould at the restaurant BUT I managed to get more dumplings by skipping on the shrimps. they are giving you a little bit of everything.

I was not hungry for the bread pudding that night. I kept it in the fridge and we put it a few seconds in the Captain Cooks microwave and I had a delicious breakfast the next morning.


Fun story: after the meal we left the tray outside. We went out for a walk but after we left, someone had actually went through the rest of our food and ate some of it and threw the chicken wing bones on the elevator floor.

This is the most awesome thing I have read all day! We go to Ohana on every trip but my DS-4 never eats much (ever- he isn't picky, he just must have he world's smallest stomach) I think he ate one dumpling at our last visit and my DH and I kept thinking that was the world's most expensive dumpling....

Looks like the kid's play area has a sign that kids be under 48". We have a special needs 6 yo who happens to be very tall, probably 49.5" at the time of the trip. Are we going to run into trouble if she plays in the kid area? She isn't rowdy, and tends to be scared of the big pool. I just want to set expectations to try to avoid a meltdown once we are there. Thanks for the advice.

wait....seriously?!? did that come from a lifeguard?? 48in is only for the small slide on the splash area? so bigger kids are at least allowed on the structure? there are 2 slides on the kids area right? the real tiny toddler one and then a little bigger one that goes through a mountain (like a mini version of the big pool slide)? please post all you know!! inquiring minds need to know

My 9 year old will be happy, he won't go down the small slide, but he would love to play under the water areas.

Really?!! Yay! Please keep us updated on this as we have 2 kids slightly over that height but they are so sweet and young at heart and would love the new splash area and would have no problem obliging to the small slide rule.

We can't clearly see but it was right under the desk. Here it is with most of the plates I've received from 'Ohana (in room dining). Veggies and noodles are hidden in one of the stacked-up baskets.

The table would be a bit tight for 4 people (I'm sure it is doable) but perfect for 2.

i am very interested in seeing what my 49" tall 8 year old says if he's told he's not allowed to play anywhere in that amaaaaaaaaaazing splash area.
