I already know how PhotoPass works, but I'm curious about PhotoBook and how it works. Do I select the photos and then Disney binds them into the book for me? Do they have certain park photos that they'll put in the book?

Any help is much appreciated.

We got the PhotoBook on our last trip and it is the BEST souvenir ever! You can select and edit your PhotoPass photos, upload your own photos (and edit), and also select some park photos. You can choose page styles, number of photos/page, layout, etc. The pages actually have the photos printed on them, not photos to put in a photo sleeve or page like a normal photo album.

The only danger zone about the whole thing is that looking at your awesome pics will DEFINITELY make you want to go back to Disneyland sooner than you were planning on :lmao:

Well, my next visit is already scheduled, so I think I can survive the anticipation for it. :lmao: Thanks for the info.

I haven't done the photopass photobook, but I've now made two shutterfly photobooks of my own pictures. One is the best shots from our Disneyland trips from Sept 05 through December 07. The other, which I haven't even opened yet b/c I'm waiting to show DS and DH at the same time, is of just the "pretty" pictures I've taken of the parks. I did it with a map in hand, so it's like taking a walk around each park, looking at the loveliness. I can't wait to look, but if it came out how I hope it did, it's going to be SO hard to keep myself from planning another trip until my son is over 42" (he's yearning to ride Grizzly so we promised him we'd go when he can do so). I'm scared to look at it!

It is so HARD to not plan another trip. Notice that we've gone from our next trip being in October to our next trip being in August and then October for Halloween?? It's a good problem to have though, I must say :thumbsup2

Can you tell us how much the books cost? Im thinking about doing the photopass when we go in December. I have 5 kids and would like so alone pics of each so thought photopass would be best, even though I still don't exactly know how it works (still reading about it).

The PhotoBooks are $69.95 - really nice books though! We LOVE ours :thumbsup2 I love the idea of scrapbooking and making my own photo albums, but in reality I have a whole trunk full of photos from forever, just waiting to be put into an album (unless someone wants to volunteer for me, they will probably stay that way.......)

We did the book this time, it is just beautiful! We love it! We had all the photopass pictures put in to it. Then I uploaded my favorite pictures from my camera and added those to the book.

You get to design the book online. Picking the backgrounds, choosing from several different Disney designs. Some backgrounds have areas that you can put text in to. Like I did two pages of Club 33 pictures, so I put at the bottom "Club 33 6/3/08" Same with two pages of Universal Studios. The last page I put a picture of my son sleeping at the DLH, and around that picture two pictures of the fireworks. On the bottom I wrote "See you next year Disneyland!"

Really one of the best suvineers I got for sure!

The PhotoBooks are actually printed by Josten's Yearbook company, so they are in that same fully professional style of printing and binding.

You can get a cheaper version of book for $49.95, but I would go for the $69.95 one (both are the basic 20 page edition). I did that for last year's WDW AKV trip and was really satisfied. You can also add as many extra pages as you need for $1.50 or so more for each page. The more expensive version gives you a nicer padded cover that has what ever titling and your name engraved on the front cover, as well as allowing you to incorporate your Photo Pass and Disney stock photos into the book. Say you just couldn't get a good fireworks shot or forgot to get a photo of the giant golf ball at EPCOT - not a problem - go to the stock photos and pick the one you want. I also did that to get photos of Mickey and the Gang from the Halloween Party section.

It's definitely worth it.

I once did that (not a scrapbook but put things in order into photo albums) for a friend, and it was SO hard. Even though I had been there for most of the time the pictures spanned, and I knew what order they went in, she had kept them in no order and it got difficult sometimes. I did it for free, too.

There are people who do scrapbooks for others, though. For a charge, of course.

Thanks everyone for all the info about PhotoBook. I think I'll have to play around with it when I get a chance.

I know - that's why from now on, if I can, I'll get it done this way as we go and worry about the others later :thumbsup2 At least that will stop my mountain of photos from growing any more massive than it is..... And we have the beautiful memories right there, rather than digging through old stuff. Gotta love it!

That was EXTREMELY nice of you to do that for someone else - I know how time consuming it is (I've only managed to do it once so far) - my husband's daughter (who is in her 20s) was coming to visit from Germany and he had not seen her since she was 18 months old!) I arranged for her to send me all her childhood, through the years, until current photos. I had those copied and took tons myself while she was here. I frantically and secretly (for each of them!) made a really nice photo album and had a friend of mine make up a very beautiful and personal poem for the to of them to remember the occasion by. They were both VERY surprised and very touched - I loved it! However, it was very hard to do for me as I am not very crafty or artistic. But in certain circumstances, it is good to go the extra mile and that was certainly it!

For Disney vacations, the PhotoBook is the way to go for people like me!!
