Hello everyone :)

Just wondered what everyone's opinions are on these two resorts! We are currently booked in a 2 bed villa in OKW but SSR is also available for our dates and we have never stayed in or visited either (other than briefly SSR when we bought DVC)!

Many Thanks in advance :goodvibes

Enjoy the UK sunshine this weekend! :beach:

Thank you Wayne, sorry for starting a new thread, feel free to delete!

Seems we can't go wrong in either, very mixed opinions and none of them seem bad!

Like the idea of all of the space in OKW rooms but like the idea of a walk to DTD in SSR so still a little torn! Not a massive lover of the buses but maybe the boat from OKW to DTD is a nice addition!

Thanks again! :)

O.K.W. without a doubt it's larger what a beautiful resort stayed there and loved it. Just wanted to live there.

We;ve recently just come back from 8 nights at SSR & we had exactly the same dilema as you with whether to go with SSR or OKW.

We were in a studio, so the idea of have a bed & a sofa was nice at SSR compared to OKW 2 queen beds in a studio. However as your in a 2bed villa that doesn't apply!

When we booked SSR we requested our room in Congress park close to the DTD path, and we literally got it as close as it could get and it was less then a 5minute stroll from our apartment. It was lovely in the evening just to be able to stroll over and have a wander around, get something to eat and then stroll back without having to wait for a bus or boat.

It also meant we could walk to the bus stop opposite DTD to get the Lynx bus to Seaworld, Discovery Cove etc in less then 10 minutes.

From Congress park it was about 5-10 minutes walk to the carriage house with Artist's palette so that really wasn't a bother for us either. The pool at Congress park was pretty much dead every time we visited it with just a handful of people, the washing machines were always free too! It was just such a lovely relaxing atmosphere which was great after the parks which were so hectic!

We umm'ed and arr'ed for ages on OKW or SSR but im glad we went with SSR purely for its location to DTD. We never waited more then 15 minutes for a bus to any of the parks, and the buses were never full we always got a seat!

Hope that might help :)

Will leave it running, some might have missed the other threads.

Ok so I read this and thought perfect, will stick with my original decision at stay at OKW! Thank you :thumbsup2

And then I read Azza's post (thank you) and its thrown me into a dilemma again because I'm wondering if it will be soooooo busy on the buses around Christmas time and the thought of not relying on them for DTD is appealing, not bothered about buses for the parks because we will have a car but at night like a drink :thumbsup2

Hmmmmmmmm :rotfl:

OKW has slighter bigger rooms I believe, but my thoughts are you really are only there for sleeping and some occasional meals! Your mostly out and about at WDW, so the size of the rooms never bothered us.

I don't think theres much comparison between OKW & SSR to be honest, they are both so similar and Whatever you decide on won't be a bad decision! :)

You will change you mind with every post you read, we have stayed at OKW 4 times and would a 5th without question. Looked around SSR and we prefer OKW but then I know others who have stayed at SSR and prefer there.
I believe walking to DTD is easier from SSR but we don't walk, after a day in the parks and then walking around DTD I would rather get the boat or take the car.
CS is supposed to be better at SSR, again not a consideration for us I prefer to get in the car and go elsewhere.
For us there isn't one negative at OKW(apart from internet speed), we have obviously found the resort we feel most at home.

As said in the other threads, you can't go wrong.:goodvibes

That's true, after a long day in the parks, walking might not be top of our priority list but the sound of a boat is lovely!

Think iv just got to stick with my original choice because seems they're both excellent and can't go wrong with either! If I had any opinions saying don't stay in OKW then I think I'd change but with everyone loving either, seems not much to achieve from moving. It's true that the rooms are only for sleeping but with 4 adults and two little ones running around, the extra space will be nice!

Also will probably stay at SSR another time, enjoying trying all of the DVC choices, BWV is most definitely my fave but them along with BC are fully booked for our dates!

Thanks again everyone, will see if any more opinions, seems SSR has availability whenever I seem to look so don't want to lose OKW and then change my mind and OKW be fully booked! x
