Right now we are having another Year of a Million dreams, what's in store for us going in 2009 or 2010 (like me)?

The theme for 2010 might have something to do with Disneyland turning 55 years old. 2010 will also be the 60th anniversary of Cinderella. Sleeping Beauty will turn 50 in 2009 as well. So who knows the next celebration might have something to do with these milestones.

I'd love to find out! I was kind of disappointed when they just used the YOAMD theme again, especially when this year it appears that they're not giving out near as many dreams as they were last year. Also, I just think it was sort of lazy. It's really easy to just extend the same theme. I can't wait to find out what the new one is for next year.

I sure hope it is better then YOMD. This one really stunk. Never seen anyone get anything during my eight day stay. I was not expecting anything as I never get nothing free but it would have been nice to see someone experiance the magic. Guess there was no magic to be given out.

We have been to disney 3 times during the YOMD and never saw the dream team until the last trip. Then twice in the same day we got dreams, the ears and the fast passes. It was weird because it was within 2 hours of each other.

My Keys to the Kingdom tour guide told us they had to extend it because "legally" they had to actually give out a million dreams and they hadn't really set things up appropriately to do that within the first timeframe and document it the way their legal team wanted it documented. So they extended the theme, to ensure a million dreams were granted.

I got a dream lanyard with my best friend on our last day at Animal Kingdom. It was so neat! :goodvibes

If the Princess birthday's occur in 2009 & 2010 - it might be the suites in the Castles at DL & WDW will still be awards each night to lucky guests. :)

More Princess soveniers and balloons.
Tiara's & Crowns handed out instead of Dream Mickey ears.
Lanyards & pins with a royal theming.

Just a guess. :rotfl:

Anyone know when the new theme will be announced?

Many of the celebrations were centered around anniversaries of the parks. October 1 is WDW in FL and July 18 is for Disneyland (I'm pretty sure). Sometimes the celebrations start at or before these dates. Who knows what it will be this upcoming year. Some suggestions have been given and they could be right. I guess time will tell.

Really? We one several dreams in August and we saw lots of others walking around with dream FPs and ears.

and wouldn't my three sons, 14, 12 and 10 be thrilled :)

I really can't see Disney celebrating Cinderella turning 60.

Its just me, but I don't think people really want to think of Cinderella as an old person. JMHO.

Look! Cindy's got lots of wrinkles and saggy ****s! Maybe we could say that the Fairy God Mother is turning 60! or that Cindy definitely looks good for her age.

As usual, the guys (Mickey) can get old with grace and dignity, but not the girls.

OK, so maybe Cindy and Aurora have a certain Sophia Loren / Ann Margaret appeal to them.

We really didn't see many winners either of the times we visited. One week was the last week of Sept 2007 and the week starting May 17, 2008. I guess with all the hype, I thought there would be more sightings. We saw a few fast passes and less ears. We will be back the end of Sept beginning of Oct. Hope we see something more than what we did. I think WDW spent more on advertising than the prizes!!

We just spent 10 days at WDW, and altogether we saw: 2 people with dream fastpasses, 2 families with dream ears, and I saw one dream CM waiting for someone AFTER us as we were exiting Pooh. I was so hoping for something...anything...but was surprised that I saw so few guests with prizes as well. Maybe they've already awarded 999,999 dreams!;)

at another disney website the RUMOR was that it was going to be an emphasis on people celebrating special occasions, anniversaries, birthdays, ect. "magical celebrations"

If the economy continues to tank, the next theme may be "The Year of a Million Fewer Guests".

DisFlan

I can't imagine their celebrating the birthday of Cinderella. Frankly, I'd be a bit miffed since they did not celebrate the 70th anniversary of Snow White last year. :sad1:
