Can you somehow load DVDs you have purchased in the past into this app? If so, how do you do it? Is there a code you use on DVD or DVD case? OR is this all wishful thinking and you have to purchase all movies from the itunes store? Thank you!

I wish!!! It only puts the movies you purchased that included a digital copy on your app :(

I wish I had known that before I bought a bunch recently! If a movie comes with a digital download, and you enter the code that comes with the movie (paper flyer inside jewel case) on Disney Movie Rewards or the app, then you will see the movie pop up.

I called CS and asked about that. I was all excited thinking EVERY movie I ever bought was going to be on there. Nope. For example if you have The Little Mermaid on DVD but didn't buy the diamond edition that included a digital copy, then the only way to get it on Disney Movies Anywhere app is to buy it through iTunes. So, essentially, you would therefore have to buy it twice. :(

Another lame Apple/AT&T/Disney ploy ;)

I wish you at least had the option of using movie reward points to purchase a digital copy.

And those of us who don't own Apple devices (which is actually the majority of mobile device users) are completely out of luck. Digital copies that I bought are now off limits to me since "Anywhere" (which is a misnomer since it's hardly anywhere if people who don't own an Apple device can't use them). Won't be wasting my money on the diamond editions again.
There's been some rumors that they're looking to launch on Android but we'll see.

I have ripped the Disney DVDs that I purchased (mostly "in the vault" titles) on the computer, and can now copy/sync them to my iPad. I also have a wireless HDD which I can use as an "extension" storage for my iPad, and I copied all of them there.

Digital copies are the way to go forward. I wonder if Disney is planning to add Amazon digital movies to this app. Most of mine were bought on Amazon.

All the older movies have always been iTunes. Now with digital copy plus and the newer movies you get a variety of choices, Vudu, Amazon, Target Ticket and Google Play. All have apps for Android devices. You can choose these and in addition when you put the codes into DMR it drops a copy into iTunes as well as your Disney Movies Anywhere account which can be viewed from a PC. My kids have Kindles so I get Amazon copies for them but I also get a copy for my iPad using the code in DMR for my iPad. It's not perfect but there are options and they've stated that they will be adding other services. No doubt they have a contract with iTunes for a set period of time. No surprise really the history between Apple and Disney is long and deep.

eta: If you had access to them before, how are they off limits to you now?

The only ones that show up are Frozen and The Incredibles when have other movies with digital copies. I put them into my account awhile ago (like last year), so why don't those show up?

Alice in Wonderland, which I bought on iTunes did show up in the Disney Anywhere app, but Clubhouse collection did not. :confused3

I did not find a way to connect my Amazon account, though, and I don't think you can get any rewards for those purchases. I have about 6 Disney movies there... oh, well. I an trying to avoid buying DVDs.

When I go into DMR and access the digital copies that I loaded onto my account from my DVD/Blu Ray combo packs they all show up as DMA only. Am I missing something about how to access them? Sure I could watch them on the PC but since I don't have a laptop it's a lot more comfortable to just watch the blu-ray. I'd probably pay for Tangled again via Google play but I don't think I would any of the others.
I mean maybe I am just confused as to the access.
Hopefully other platforms will be opened soon, there's money to be made off of Android and Windows users after all.

You may have two accounts. Quite sometime ago, DMR wanted people to switch to a user name from an email ID and it created two accounts. This happened to me, I called DMA and they merged them for me. To check click the 'not my points' icon in DMR and they will send you an email with accounts linked to your email.

It's movies only, so Clubhouse will not show since it's a tv show. You cannot link Amazon as of yet but if you put the code for your movies that came with digital copies into your DMR account they will show in the DMA app as well as drop copies into a linked iTunes account.

Where did you redeem your original digital copy movies? Older movies (the ones w/discs) were only redeemable in iTunes. Newer ones from 2013 I think on are redeemable through several places via Digitalcopy+. You can also drop them into your DMR account so that they show in DMA (and link to iTunes). Eventually what will happen is when they bring on other services all movies will show in DMA no matter where you've redeemed them. When that will happen I'm not sure but I'm guessing probably after a year of iTunes deal.
