Disney's Mousercise

When I was growing up in school my teacher had a cassette tape called Disney's Mousercise and it came out in the 1980's and was a exercise video for young children with Disney themed excercises and was released in CD form remastered for the first time. The songs I remember from the Mousercise cassette were the title song and Uncle Scrooge's Money. Was this video and cassette Disney's first exercise video for kids at the time the health and fitness fad of the 80's was all the rage?

I grew up with that too - a teacher had it in school. It was probably brand new at that time, ha ha! She would play it for us on rainy days when we couldn't go out for recess. I can remember one song pretty clearly, "Bug-a-Boo" with Jiminy Crickett.

I discovered some Disney Mousercise episodes on Youtube yesterday and learned that Mousercise wasn't just a exercise video and cassette tape for kids it was an actual show from Disney Channel. And the series was so cute and Mickey and Minnie were so cool dressed in workout clothes and each episode was themed to topics like healthy eating and brushing your teeth. I also learned that the Mousercise host and instructor Kellyn had passed away but Disney Channel should have more shows like this today to get kids active

I loved my Mousercise record. I did that workout daily. I really wish I could have watched the show, but no cable.

I don't remember the show at all, but there seem to be a bunch of full shows on YouTube.

I had the vinyl record for me and my young sons, and we would do the exercises. Fun!

I remember it airing at 6 or 6:30am. Occasionally we worked out to it.
