Disney's Magical Express -- Luggage Tag Info

Hello,

We received our luggage tags for the magical express. Along with our book that gives resort details, dining plan, coupons etc. But we have not received the the magical express booklet with our all names. The tickets they scan.

We leave in one week. Should I be concerned? Do we need this? Or will we just have to go to a counter at the airport?

Thanks!

Take a close look inside your book you have. If you have the DME luggage tags, the DME vouchers are likely inside your resort booklet, rather than in a separate DME booklet. Check the back cover of the resort booklet too as a DME barcode may be on the back.

As international guests, I realise we don't get the tags at all. We will be flying in from Las Vegas, but when I booked my WDW stay, I didn't know what time we would be arriving. Is there anywhere on the MDE to advise of our flight details? On our Pop Century reservation, it says Magical Express, but given that we also don't have magic bands, how do they know we are coming on the bus?

You're right, thanks! It's always been separate before. Didn't even notice, thanks a bunch!

DME doesn't really need to know when you're arriving because you're not assigned to a specific bus to go to a resort. (They do however need to know when your flight out is scheduled for, however, since then you are assigned a specific departure time.) Pop Century doesn't need to know how you're arriving.

Can somebody offer input on how long it takes luggage services to deliver your bags to your room if you land, and go straight to the bus (leaving disney to collect your bags)? 1 hour? 2? 3? We land around 630pm and I don't want to be waiting til midnight for my luggage. Thanks!

It's supposed to get there 3-4 hours after you check in, which should be about 90 minutes after you land, so it could be close to midnight. If you don't want to wait that late, you'll have to get your bags yourself; just make sure you don't put on the yellow DME tags.

If you land, on-time, at 6:30, you should be at the resort by 8, at the latest...possibly there by 7:30 (possibly). This would mean that your bag would get to your room any time between 8 and 11ish. It is based on when you check in at the resort. We are told to expect our bags in our rooms up to 3-4 hrs after resort checkin.
If you don't want to wait that long, don't tag your bags, go to baggage claim and get them, and then bring them to the bus with you!

We are flying in from Mexico.

When DME services began, they would ship the yellow tags to me, but in the last few years, I haven´t gotten them.

International travelers arriving in MCO go first through immigration, and then to baggage claime and customs. After that, people must put their luggage in the band that will take it from the remote terminal to terminal A or B, where they have to be picked up again.

My concrete question is: Can we skip the terminal baggage claim and show up at the DME counters and give them a description of our luggage and the luggage slips, to have them pick up the bags and transport them to the hotel?
I am planning on tying a wide ribbon with stripes and giving them a simple of it to make it easier to match our bagas.

I know that it used to be like this when tags did not arrive on time.

TIA

In case anyone else wonders, after going through customs, and before placing the luggage in the band that takes it to the other terminal, we put the yellow tags on and everything got to our hotel room on time.

I got a packet with 2 of the luggage tags and the coupons. Then I got a letter from DME with another 2 luggage tags. The confirmation code is the same but the barcodes are all different, is this right? I thought they only sent two? Or is it two tags for each person? Thanks

Do you have a split stay? Disney doesn't recognize split stays (as far as they're concerned, it's two separate stays), so they send two sets of DME tags. I thought though that with the packet with the coupons they send the plastic luggage tags that you can fill out with your name and address, not the DME tags.

Our flight lands at 7:30pm, so we're in the 'before 10pm' window to have them transport our bags for us. How late at night would they actually take luggage to the resort rooms though? Do they seriously knock on doors close to midnight or wait until morning if it's that late?

Yup. Unless they are directed otherwise, they will deliver those bags to your room. With a 7:30 landing, you will get to your resort around 9ish. That would get your bags to your room sometime before midnight...I would think. If you're planning on being up and awake, fine. If not, you have a couple of options.
1. let them know, when you check in, that you want your bags held until the next morning. Then, hang the 'privacy please' hanger out on your door. There should be a message showing on your phone the next morning, telling you your luggage is ready to be delivered.
or...
2. Don't tag the bags and get them yourself at baggage claim. That's what I would do if I wanted to get to sleep early on arrival day and I was landing at any time after 6pm. Yes, it adds about 20 mins to your time, but it's worth it at the end when you can get settled in and get to sleep. Just be prepared to tip the bus driver for baggage handling.

I agree with the always-knowledgable goofy4tink. With a 7:30pm landing, I too would plan to retrieve my own luggage rather than using the delivery service. To me the delivery is fun/convenient with a during-the-day arrival. With an evening arrival, I'd rather have everything with me.

Thank you to both of you, I think I will discuss with my mom about picking up our bags before boarding the bus. We want to head out for rope drop the next morning so I'd rather be in bed WITH my luggage already there before midnight. :)

We're thinking about packing a carry on with everything we'll need right away, and overnight since we have a late flight. When we get to the resort we will ask bell services to hold our luggage until the next morning. My only concern is if our flight is delayed a little, since we are scheduled to land around 9:30. If we are on the ground by 10 in Orlando will our bags for sure we taken by ME? What if we are stuck waiting for a gate? I just don't want our bags to be left at the airport, but I also don't want to wait for our bags only for them to not come out. What is the rule for the 10 pm cutoff? On the ground, at the gate, or something else?

Hi All, I apologize if this has been asked before, but I am leaving for WDW next week and I have not received any info on Magical Express, no luggage tags or vouchers. It is on my reservation, but haven't gotten any information. Have they changed the way they do this now? I haven't been since the implementation of magic bands. Thanks!

I have a question. I'm sure it's been answered, but 128 pages is quite long. do we have to catch the DME back to the airport from our resort, or can we hop on from another resort? I'd like to check out from CSR and check my bags to be taken to the airport (my airline participates) but we have lunch scheduled at WL. Can we take DME from WL to airport or will we need to go back to CSR?

They will give you a paper a day before you leave with your bus time on it which is your ticket onto the bus, so you have to catch the bus at your resort.

Yes. And you need to plan on being back at the resort 45 to 60 minutes before your pickup time to give yourself time to retrieve any carry on bags from bell services and to make a last minute bathroom stop. You'll need to be at the platform, completely ready to go, 15 minutes before your scheduled pick up.
