This is confusing because in some areas of Disney people from Canada are considered "international" and others, Canada and US are considered the same...such as ordering magic bands we are not able to have them mailed because we are outside the US but with Disney's Magical Express (DME), we can get tags mailed to us because we are considered domestic.

Confused.....me too?

Now with Disney's Magical Express, it says that people travelling "internationally" must claim their bags upon arrival at Orlando International and proceed through customs and that DME cannot pick up our baggage for us.........but when I phone in to DME they say as long as we have the yellow luggage tags they mailed to us, we do not have to claim our bags and go through customs

Anyone know what Canadians do when they arrive at the airport in Orlando when it comes to DME, don't pick up bags off carousel or do we leave that to Disney's Magical Express??!!

As pp said, for all intents and purposes Canadians who go through US customs and immigration in a Canadian airport can consider themselves the same as Americans for DME. The on exception is magic bands which you have to pick up at the resort (no I don't get it either) but they aren't required to ride DME.

Unless something has changed recently, international guests all may still have Magical Express bags delivered to their rooms.

At the Orlando customs station, if it is still before 10 PM, put the yellow tags on and drop the bags on the other conveyor belt.

The process is the same as when clearing customs before Orlando, say when connecting in Toronto.

About magic bands, I think Disney, currently for better or worse, treats them as parcel post requiring different international mailing rules including to Canada. Whereas DME documents are treated as letter post which is almost the same for Canada as for the US.

While I definitely think this is the main reason MB don't ship to Canada, they only flaw in this logic is that the DME documents ship from Canada. The distribution centre there may not be equipped currently with MB, for a variety of reasons, but perhaps in the future we will be able to get them.

Just found out we will be precleared at our airport so this is awesome...thank you everyone for your valuable input, much appreciated!

Nope, they have a Canadian distribution center. Everything is mailed from there and nothing is mailed from the U.S. to Canada. The only thing we don't get if the magic bands (and now luggage tags. They have the infrastructure in Canada but don't use it for magic bands. Don't understand why not since they used to include luggage tags so they have the infrastructure to handle items like that.

True but I just had a peek at my information for our upcoming trip. The "Incredible " booklet describing our package, the resort, etc. was mailed from Philadelphia, My DME envelope came rom Zip Code 41042, which is Florence, Kentucky according to Google. So who knows nowadays?
