I’m hearing that construction has moved to Boca Chica building and that it is loud by the courtyard pool. Can anyone confirm? Any rumors on how long it will take for each building?

If you scroll back a few posts, you’ll find an article with pictures regarding this topic. BPK took about 3 months so I’d assume around the same time frame.

Another article regarding Boca Chica. Work has now started. It appears as if BC will get the same exterior refurbishment as BPK did.

I've seem lots of complaints on FB pages about construction noise at the pool..... Maybe by the time we go in Aug it won't be so loud, that's my hope anyway. Kind of sad because that is the building I wanted to request too!

I am surprised they haven't erected the usual solid walls to hide the ground level eyesight of the construction.

That's pretty funny! I can't believe they actually believed that lol! I wonder what is meant by "they're working on the building next door" ...meaning, I wonder how noisy or visible it is... walls and scaffolding like before? I don't check in until the 3rd because I'm at BWI first so I guess things could change between now and then anyway. I'm just hoping for a peaceful experience at the beautiful courtyard pool! I'm guessing that means they're now updating Boca Chica?? I wish someone who is there now would give us more info...

I actually just got back last night! They are refurbishing Boca Chica now. There was noise and construction, but I didn’t feel it was too bad. They are moving the old furniture out and the carpets. It looked like they were putting up a better construction wall in order to be less intrusive.

Just met Esther. What a lovely lady she is full of joy and you can tell she loves her job!! (Who wouldn’t - I’d love to be paid to be nice to people and talk to people arriving at the Grand Floridian all day.)

Good morning from Grand Floridian! Such a beautiful resort! I can’t hear the construction at all from inside, but it is pretty loud when I step outside …they’re using saws. We’ll see how bad it is when we go to the pool later. The fireworks were pretty spectacular last night (no construction then of course)! Can’t wait to watch them again!
