I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal at GFC.

We randomly do. It has been hit or miss service wise but I was craving a salad and it looked like it had all things I like on a salad and it was perfect for a hot day.

It’s a nice lunch place imo. You get to visit GF and soak it in. We had a nice view of the resort/sat by windows.

I remember enjoying the Caesar salad there. Very simple but it hit the spot. I just wish there were more lighter options on more menus…heavy food isn’t that appealing to me either when it’s hot out.

That’s a real shame. It’s always been consistent for us. Probably the worst thing I ever experienced there was when we went last year and the chicken and waffle was suddenly not listed as safe for tree nut allergies even though I regularly have it. But the server was really good about it and checked with the chef and confirmed it was a misprint. I definitely believe you though because Kona has been hit or miss for me. Usually the service is decent there but I’ve had some mid food there at lunch.

Agree , SH71 , Kona and GF Cafe can be so hit or miss with service. However I always like the food.

I feel like the kitchen is slow at GFC. I've been wondering if it will be worse if they share a kitchen with 1900?
It's a solid restaurant though. They have a small menu, and the food is pretty consistent. They have some frozen
cappuccinos that I really like. Definitely pack your patience at GFC! I've had times where I wanted to chase the
wait staff down for the check.

Quoting myself, as it appears the start date has changed, and an end date has been provided for the M. Mouse Mercantile refurb.

The M. Mouse Mercantile at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will be closed starting May 20th for about two months. The location is currently set to reopen on July 13th, according to Blog Mickey.

I hope they don't change the carpet! Loved it in there!

Is using your resort mug for free coke refills bad form at the courtyard pool?
I understand they have to waste a paper cup but I never thought it was an issue until I was told by the server that I should use the refill station at Gasparilla or go to the beach pool!

I have NEVER heard this being referred to by anyone as "bad form" or anything similar. Sounds like a CM was having a rough day...

Having said that, I always offer to give them my cup to fill directly. Sometimes, they take it, but usually they don't. More so "don't" after COVID. I wish they would just fill my cup directly, but I (kind of) understand the hesitation -- it does seem like there may be bigger fish to fry than fighting against the chance that I have some communicable disease that can transfer from my cup, to their drink gun, to another person's cup. But, I'm no public health expert and presumably they've weighted the pros and cons...

....I absolutely love, love, LOVE breakfast here, but we've never had a problem getting our meals in a timely fashion...

We had a pretty bad experience at GFC on our last trip. We went around lunch time as they're one of the few places that will serve breakfast items later in the day.

Our waiter gave off vibes that he was pretty much over it as soon as we sat down - it took forever to have our order taken. After having to flag down another server to help us find him, I inquired about whether they could substitute turkey sausage in my egg sandwich. He seemed confused and asked what item I was trying to substitute. Caught me a bit off guard since the sandwich had regular pork sausage - I assumed it would be obvious that I wanted this subbed.

I clarified and he went on his way. When we FINALLY got our order (easily 35+ min later), it thankfully had the turkey sausage...but no egg. So an egg sandwich with no egg at all. I again couldn't find him and had to explain the issue to a different server. She was shocked and brought over the missing egg quickly...and I attempted to reconstruct the sandwich on my own. (This in and of itself struck me as odd - as someone who waitressed for years in HS and college, the proper process would have been to re-plate the entire sandwich...but we wanted to wrap it up at this point).

When our original waiter finally came over and acknowledged what happened he said "well, I guess it's because you asked for the turkey sausage." I actually laughed out loud - as did the tables on either side of us who were fully invested in the drama at this point.

I mean, I wasn't expecting our meal be comped but not even an apology? Was just bizarre all around.

....wow....unbelievable. We've eaten here at least 4 or 5 times and have absolutely no complaints. However, if I'm being totally honest, I did NOT care for the steak I had ordered at dinner and I would never go back for that meal. Hands down though, they have the BEST avocado toast on property.
