Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa + Construction Updates!! **LOBBY REFURB STARTED 4/14**

Does anyone know if the GF is allowing non-hotel guests to visit hotel guests? We've got grandparents in Florida who want to see us while we're at the hotel, not sure if that's permissible or under what conditions (temperature checks, testing) it's allowed. Thanks.

Would LOVE to have a handheld shower

Yep. I was somewhat pondering moving my reservation to GF for my birthday trip in July (was at Poly but got nervous about getting stuck with whatever was left if they decide they're not going to be on schedule closer to July 19 - the first day they have rooms available) but having experienced having a handheld showerhead in a Poly Studio last weekend, I'm being a bit of a shower snob and only looking at resorts that have handheld showerheads. So...no GF for me.

Just booked a cabana for the last day of our trip! I am excited there was a very nice cast discount on it, never thought of it. The cast member and I were talking and she mentioned it, so saving money is good! Now Nana gets her relaxing pool day after running around parks with the VIP guide!

Just wanted to circle back around and share how delightful time in the Enchanted Rose was yesterday. I sat at the bar with friends I made as we were waiting for the lounge to open and it felt almost like a pre-Covid period of time as we joked, chatted, and had delicious food. I had the Brisket sliders with the Blue Cheese sauce on the side (and a Manhattan made with Woodford Reserve). Most of my new friends ate truffle fries ;-)

The bartender, Shelia, was just wonderful.

You may want to make a dining reservation and give the confirmation information to your grandparents. That would ensure they can get through the gates and park. The Grand Floridian Cafe usually has a fair amount of availability and a nice selection of things to eat...

What kind of report is this? Don’t you know fun is not allowed? :rotfl:

(Glad you are enjoying your trip!)

Dd and I have used UBER each trip post Covid a few times. They didn’t even ask us our names or anything. He/she would just say dropping off. They only check temps for eating and entering parks.

They shouldn’t have any problems. My inlaws used to visit us. We gave them our room number and they just announced name on reservation and room number,

IF they have a problem they could park at TTC and mono over but I don’t think there will be any issues.

Does this apply to the GF pool areas? If they want to stay for a few hours and watch the kid’s swim, can they? Or do pool staff check key cards or something?

Checking in this weekend (YAY), is there a current movies under the stars/activities schedule?

Unfortunately, they no longer print them out or post online, but over by each pool area, there is a sign with the daily activities, as well as the Movies Under the Stars schedule. The Beach Pool sign is out front, by the Splash area, and the Courtyard Pool sign is to the right of the bar. There should also be an activity sign when you walk in the front doors of the main lobby on the wall to the right. Hope you have a great time!

Hi guys,

Any recommendations on room requests we can or should make? We've never stayed at GF before. We have an outer building - theme park view room booked for the 3rd week of April. I know fireworks aren't happening right now, but I'd still like to maximize our view/room type!

Any tips for what to request? Also, is it better to call them ahead of time or ask upon arrival at the resort? Thank you all!

Anyone know best way to get luggage to room if you self park? Will they let you borrow a luggage cart?

I have TPV booked also and requested Conch based on previous advice. It's very close to the resort launch and a nice compact size.

I want to say NO for borrowing but not sure.

I think best option is drive to checkin area. They will unload you. You go park and walk back to lobby and they escort you to the room.

However with covid I am not sure they escort you? They may just run your things up. I want to say it is a liability to lend out carts.

I always roll my own but above it what I observe while I am in that area. GF has some of the best bellmen on property! Many have been in position for decades.

Anybody do this recently???
