Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa + Construction Updates!! **LOBBY REFURB STARTED 4/14**

If I was reading an earlier post correctly, the Main Building lounge will be made available to Outer Building suite guests. I don’t think Sugar Loaf folks will be added to the lounge as that building is no longer concierge level. I could be quite wrong, but I don’t think the RPC lounge will be much squeezier than during regular busy periods.
You are 100% correct. Only the outer building suites will have RPC access, not all of Sugar Loaf due to it not being a club level building anymore.

Villas at Grand Floridian Resort Studio Opening Date JUNE 20, 2022

The newest rooms at Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are now available for booking with an anticipated grand opening of June 20, 2022.

Beginning March 14, 2022, owners at the Grand Floridian can book the Resort Studios for any check in date from June 20 through February 14, 2023, with the 11-month booking window applicable going forward. Owners can also book any other DVC resort up to 7 months prior to arrival. This applies to both DVC members who recently added points at the Grand Floridian and to those who have owned the resort dating back to its 2013 inception. The original stand-alone DVC building and the new Resort Studios located in Big Pine Key are all part of the same condo association with owners having equal rights to reserve all rooms.

Beginning on May 13, 2022, reservations for the Resort Studios will move online with access open to all DVC members. On that date, owners of other DVC properties will be able to Resort Studios for arrival dates between June 20 and December 13, with future dates subject to the 7 month window.

I can't find good pictures of the deluxe king rooms. Can anyone tell me, are these just larger rooms with an area for sitting similar to the layout of the deluxe rooms at Beach Club and Boardwalk, or are they similar to the deluxe rooms at Wilderness Lodge which have the sitting area and the bedroom totally separated from one another by a wall with a door?

I stayed in one last May. There's no extra walls within the room, just one large sitting space. The one I had was right over Gaspy's but there's a tiny handful of rooms in the turret which have a slightly different layout, and don't have balconies.

Victoria & Albert’s Will Reopen “Later This Year”

Disney has just announced that they plan to reopen Victoria & Albert’s “later this year”, saying “we don’t have specifics right now, stay tuned for updates to come”.

Victoria & Albert’s is one of a handful of restaurants that still haven’t reopened following the COVID-19 shutdowns in March 2020.

Now we need 1900 PF! 🤩

Total bummer for the Poly with today's announcement of the new DVC tower. I assume that means the walkway between GF and Poly will be closed once construction starts until it is finished at the end of 2024. DD23 and I love making that walk at night for Dole Whips as it is so beautiful and serene. Sigh...... no more I guess.

I have an upcoming stay at the Grand and was wondering if mobile ordering is required/necessary at the resort quick service places like Gasparilla's like it is at places in the parks. This will be my first trip back post covid and I am oddly anxious about the rules of mobile ordering food (probably because I have a small child with me and the fear of not getting something quickly could lead to a meltdown!). Thank you!

Not at all. I never mobile order there! Enjoy it!

Does anyone have any info on what's expected with pools during the renovation? I have a reservation starting June 23rd and got their email about construction. My DD 6 loves the Mad Hatter splash pad and pools so wondering if we need to switch to Poly or not. Is the hotel getting a new roof? How major is the Reno?

I ordered from Gasparilla's both mobile and regular in Feb Spring break. You can do either, and I never found it too crowded or felt it was necessary, just did it for convenience since I had a large dinner order with allergy considerations one night that I knew would likely take a little bit to prepare. I saw a lot of mobile coffee orders in the AM though, which seemed smart to me, people could just grab it and run off to whatever they had planned for the day.

Not sure- but I know that the Splash Pad was just repainted over Spring Break. My guess would be they wouldn't have painted it just to shut it right back down shortly and let the sun ruin the new pain job. Just a wild guess though. My DS 4 was super lucky to get into the splash pad thanks to a friend (you know who you are!!! 😊 ) the day before it closed down for the paint job. We agree with your daughter, the Mad Hatter splash pad is awesome! I hope it is open for your trip!

They are refurbishing the outer building resort rooms and will close a building while it is undergoing the refurbishment. Guests shouldn't be affected by the work since no one will be staying in the affected building during its refurbishment. The exception could be the rooms in the main building, but I don't think they have announced a work schedule for that building.

We are currently in an Outer Building theme park view room, I know those are limited so I wonder where they would move us to? Is the work schedule available anywhere online? thanks!

I used mobile order for my family at Gasparilla's last June and then went inside to do the allergy order for my daughter. I would probably still feel better doing it that way because she has so many and they're anaphylactic, but I didn't know there was any allergy indication available on mobile order. Were you able to specify that through the app?

Hello all! I will be staying at the GF for the first time in May, and I’m wondering if anyone has any room recommendations. We are booked in an outer building lagoon view. Thinking maybe Sago or Conch so we can be close to the MK walkway.

I was, I believe it was a box to check
