Hi,
I started the process of signing up for the GAD promotion on the Disney website (found a Project Linus chapter I can mail to, contacted that person directly and filled in the basic information). I received the automated reply that says I'll hear back of what to do next, but for those out there -- how many days did it take till you heard from Disney what to do next? Thanks much

My chapter told me to send the blankets in. I got an email from the contact there when she rec'd them. I got an email from disney three days after the project date with directions on how to print off my vouchers.

I meant the original email from Disney to "accept" I guess that you selected taht organization to volunteer with and move forward???

Where you signed up, check and see if there is a contact person listed and call/email them. I know that Project Linus and the other mail in opportunities in general were having issues because LOTS of people were signing up for them if there was no activity close to their home. You should have heard from someone saying that you are able to participate in that activity. I got mine back a couple of minutes after I signed up. You can also check your status on HandsOn.

I got an email right away after being accepted which directed me back to register.

I signed up for project linus and never heard back. That was about a month ago, so I found something else. I assumed they were maybe flooded with requests and mine probably never even went though. I actually ended up finding another blanket group and I heard back from them within about 10 hours.

I spoke with a gal who heads up a local Project Linus chapter last week. I know she's feeling overwhelmed. She has a full time job, is going to school, and the Project Linus thing is supposed to be her part time volunteer work.

However... between sign ups, confirmations, questions, etc. she said getting 200+ e-mails in just one day in the inbox she set up specifically for the GAD promo has not been uncommon; plus her voicemail has been maxed out since the 2nd week of January, no matter how hard she tries to stay on top of it.
Wow!

I imagine many of the Project Linus chapters, especially the ones that accept donations by mail, are getting similarly slammed. With that kind of volume, I'd be surprised if there weren't some delay's and/or a few e-mails lost in the shuffle.

You're supposed to get a response from the organization within 5 days. Personally I'd give it at least a week, maybe two, before e-mailing, calling, or moving on to a different opportunity though.

Good Luck, I hope everyone is able to get signed up for a great volunteer opportunity. :thumbsup2

after registering online and picking Project Linus in our area I got an immediate email to finish the registration and select a volunteer date and then an email from our director.

i then got the instructions on how to make our blankets.

our blankets are due friday february 5th and i received our reminder
yesterday.

just wondering if we will have vouchers before we head out on March 12th. :confused3
