Disney's FORT WILDERNESS CABINS & CAMPGROUNDS Thread

New question for me... We are thinking more about the golf cart. If we have dinner at Whispering Canyons at Wilderness Lodge, can we drive the golf cart to WL?

No, the cart can't leave the campground. It would be nice to take it to the ML though!

Does anyone know about what time the event with Chip and Dale would start in November?

It generally begins around 7 p.m. during the fall/winter season and 8 p.m. beginning sometime in April through the summer. So much fun!! My kids LOVE it...even DS12 ;)

Hi
I've just booked our 1st trip to stay in a cabin for Halloween 2015. Any tips or hints would be great thanks

:cool1: So is this your first trip to Disney or first stay in a cabin? You'll LOVE Halloween at WDW! It's like nothing else. Are you going to do MNSSHP??? That's tons of fun, and it has one of the best parades....of course that's just my opinion  If you decided to do the party, bring costumes to wear....young and old dress up. Make sure you plan for some downtime at the Fort. There's lots to do there, especially for kids.

Bring on the questions!...we'll be happy to answer or at least try ;)

Hi
Thanks it's our 1st trip to the fort and 2nd trip to wdw (2008 was last trip)
We plan to do mnsshp but all depends on dates of party cause really wanna spend Halloween at the fort. We hope to hire golf cart too and really have a chill out time and enjoy everything at the fort.
How long does it usually take to get to the parks from the fort and is it only mk that has a direct transport from the fort.
The kids have already decided on the incredibles for our mnsshp costumes not sure I will look that good and need to start the diet now to get into the suit.
Any more tips pls
Thanks

You can take the boat to MK and there are buses that go to all the other parks and waterparks as well from the fort

Here are 2 links that might help with your planning...

While it's not necessary to rent a golf cart, it does make things a bit more convenient. Our kids love it, also...kind of adds to the fun :thumbsup2 The Fort is an excellent place to simply relax and do nothing!

When we go in June, I'm going to see if I can get the average times for the boats and buses, then I'll post that on the first pages of this thread.

I love it!!! Great idea!!! Also, if you do the party, we've always found it better to do the later parade...less people. Not sure how old your kids are...that may make a difference.

Happy Planning!!:goodvibes

Hi everyone! We flew down and met my parents today for our stay on the fort's campsites. Love it here so far! I asked right away about transportation to animal kingdom for an early morning ADR and they are sending one of their luggage guys to pick us up and transport us! How awesome is that?

:cool1::woohoo: Y'all made it!!!! Hope you have a fabulous trip. And wow!! They're sending someone to pick you up??! Nice!! Can't wait to hear all about it. Which loop did you get?

So somebody mentioned they watched the 4th of July fireworks from the beach at the Fort last year...Is that possible? Do they pipe in the music on the beach or not? It's been a REALLY long time since I've stayed at FW (with my parents when I was in HS) so I can't remember...

Thanks!!

Yes, this is done nightly. The music and narration are pumped in. Our kids could play in the sand while we watched.

No kidding?! I had no idea they pipped in the music! Now I have something else to add-on to our itinerary  Thanks for the info!!

You can also catch the electrical water pageant at the beach as well. Usually in and around 9:45 I believe. We took some drinks in a cooler, towels to sit on, and popcorn from the camper when we go.

Is the same for wishes and such?

You'll have to check the time schedules based on when you plan to visit. Weather as always can cancel some showings.

Awesome!! :-) somebody else said they did NOT pipe in the music so I'm super excited now! :-) I think I'll see about adding a night then, perhaps just room only...?

How's the dinner buffet at Trail's End?

Also, saw that they do a parade in the campground for the 4th? When/where is it? Any other special 4th of July festivities? Staying at WL, but since we're not doing a park on the 4th, looking for other fun things to do. :-)

AND, how much are the pony rides there? :-). DD will not want to leave!
