Fanti for me is not a suprise as it was already rumoured to end last Christmas and not appear this summer.

The MWW is unexpected as they have everything set up and I can't believe that they can't find Cms who can skate.

It's very sad that the theatre is only being used once this year for the 2-3 months of Tarzan but I don't see it getting any better in the near future

I am still really looking forward to it (probably more than our June trip!). Yes, there are events that have been taken away but tbh sometimes DLRP is what you make it (as many others have said on here). Christmas is a magical time of the year, and Christmas at DLRP will be magical for us without those things I'm sure .

Just the snow on Main Street, seeing Santa on his float and Christmas music/carols will be enough to set me off .

Having said that, if I had been before at Christmas, then that would possibly be another matter like others have stated (bit like us going back at Halloween after seeing a few years ago with pumpkin men - wouldn't repeat unless it all changes for the better). But sadly, like all things at DLRP, prices are going up and value for money is going down . We have noticed differences in lots of things degenerating over the years - with regard to what you get for your money. It's the way of the world these days! I think going time after time to DLRP, you do notice these things more sadly.

I am still hoping that they have a Christmas overlay for Dreams but it is sounding doubtful. I really don't understand why not though as it could have been produced a long time ago and filed until needed.

Overall, I still think Christmas will be magical - like Carrie says, it's a huge money spinner and one of their busiest times of the year, so they are going to want to still attract and get repeat guests.

I might be in the minority but I am excited still

I'm with DLPDreams - I'm still very excited to see whatever is on the go for Christmas. I can see how it would be a disappointment for people who have been before and enjoyed particular events. But as a first-timer I'm sure it'll still be magical enough for me, my DH and our 4-year old. She gets excited at seeing Santa in the local garden centre so DLP Christmas will be incredible for her. And if she's happy then we're happy.

I'm abit upset, last time we went was nov 10' and obviously we had fanti etc then, my mum is coming with us and has never seen fanti and was looking forward to it so I'm upset for her!
Gutted about belles village too.
On the other hand it's my kids first trip so it will still be magical either way!

and this is why I'm all in favour of a WDW buy out.

I've only been visiting the park since 1994 and I'm noticing the cutbacks.
On our first trip in mid march 1994 (low season) and not only did we have the awesome Wonderful World of Disney parade in the daytime, but Fantillusion in the evening too.

We returned in october that year for halloween and had the huge pumpkin at the top of Main Street with free kids face painting inside, the Mummy pulling the riverboat (I loved that), free hair styling in Frontierland, the huge cranes carrying paint over to BTM and pumpkinmen everywhere along Main Street and in Frontierland and a special halloween parade. Was totally underwhelmed by our October 2010 visit in comparison, most of what made our first Halloween trip so special was missing and I wouldn't make a special effort to return again at this time. In fact I do have Sky tickets for 30th and 31st october for me and Liam but we've decided not to bother.

I loved our Christmas visit in 2007 but remember being disappointed that there wasn't a Christmas parade and instead they were tagging a few of the Xmas floats onto OUAD, if I returned this year I would be totally gutted with no Fantillusion, no MWW and I can't believe that they would drop the Castle Lighting ceremony, probably one of the most emotional and magical events for Christmas.

I'm looking forward to seeing Dreams in person sometime, but I'm starting to wonder if it's worth the cost, if everything else has to suffer

I am really disappointed about Fantillusion because I've always wanted to see it, but as it's been said on here before that it's due to end at any moment, it hasn't come as much of a shock. I guess we're just too late, but at least there's Dreams to look forward to.

I'm still really excited to go at Christmas.. I've never been at that time of year before so I won't be noticing gaping holes everywhere I'm still excited about all the stuff that *is* still going ahead. We'll definitely go and see Santa!

There wasn't one last year so I doubt that there will be this year. Every year it was down graded little by little

Yup! It was fab! Had trouble with my buggy in there but it was perfect!

It is a bit disappointing but I'm still really excited to go! As others have said I've never been at Christmas before and so won't notice the holes as much. I'm very excited for the parade and snow on Main Street and just being in Disney generally!

It's a shame they are having to cut back but really where isn't at the moment? Even WDW have hiked prices and cut EMH without adding other things in.

I'm just going to focus on what special things ARE happening for Christmas instead of the things that aren't.

Unknown as yet .. if they do it will no doubt be only the tower roofs like last year.

I hope the mini parade is along the lines of the old Christmas parade with the toy soldiers etc, its so much better then the one that they used from the 15th anniversary parade since.

I agree (having seen video footage). It does appear that there is going to be a separate mini Christmas parade this time from the release (fingers crossed as it will be fab), but sometimes what we interpret isn't quite what happens at DLRP .

For example, look at the issue they created this year mentioning free FPs in their benefits of booking in their 20th year - plenty people thought they would get FPs with the booking (which to be fair, it was almost what it sounded like!) when in fact it was just the usual FPs from the machines!

Back on topic - I've always loved to the look of those Nutcracker type soldiers - sooo Christmassy! I read somewhere that they think the Character train is going to be taken off in lieu of this parade....?
