Things that need to happen before a 5th park is ever considered.

1.DAK expansion
2.DHS expansion
3.Fix Future World
4. Major E ticket in either AL or TL
5.Transportation overhaul

Transportation overhaul???

Other than extend the monorail (which we can all be fairly certain will never happen), I dont see what else they can do with transportation?

As a father who has kids that ride everything at Kings Island and Ceder Point WDW is a bit tame for them. I love WDW for the photo's and the family concept but I can see in a couple more years the pre-teens being teens will not want to hit WDW since there are only a couple thrill rides. They will want to go to Universal of Bush Gardens when we go to FL. If Disney were to open a 5th gate with a more thrill or mature theam the kids would want to go. Look at Epic Micky that is pretty dark and so is Kingdom Hearts it has been done in a way b4 so lets make it happen as a park.

Hey Philly, nice seeing a neighbor on here.

You would be surprised by the kids, while mine like to go to KI & CP they still want our vacation at WDW. It is their favorite place to go. We are actually going to Myrtle Beach for a week then driving down for a week.

do you have a good source for those numbers? I was under the impression disney didnt release details like that?

There are a whole lot of other interesting stats that need to be considered before any of us "experts" can judge if Disney should be building another park. Such as, % of repeat visitors over 1, 2, 5 and 10 years, length of stay on return visits vs first visit, % of time spent offsite for return visitors, % of visitors per nationality, average length of stay per nationality, impact of potterland on length of stay, expected impact of legoland on length of stay, etc etc.

If for example disney were to look at the number of return visitors and saw it was rising, but that the time they were spending onsite was falling (just a hunch, but I think that may well be the case), then disney might decide they should be doing something to lock in those guests to spend more time on site.

but then again, in my personal opinion, they should just finish off DHS and AK first anyway :)

Sorry been away, but my family size stat is I think pretty close, the length of vacation time is pretty well been this way since companies started to downsize years ago.

Growing up we always had 2 full weeks for vacation. My first WDW trip was during one of those 2 week trips but at the time there was MK, River Country, Poly, Contemporary, and Fort Wilderness.

Pretty much 3 days was the max you would do. Two days at MK and one at RC. This was also during the ticket days so you only got one ride on the E ticket attractions unless you bought more tickets and the only extra tickets we bought was I think to see Country Bears because we ran out of that value ticket. (My father already though t that we were spending a ton of money, I think we paid $20 - 25 per night for our campsite :scared1: that was almost ten times what we paid at local state parks. It also took as two years to get that ressie. WE tried to book Late July early August the December before but FW was booked up for the 3 days we wanted.

The 70% number came from a trusted CM who posts here a lot. Though I hope I have the number right.

Eliminate the bus system and replace it with the personal pod system that they have researched or even simpler use the TTA on a larger scale.

Bus system is terrible and needs to go.

no idea of actual figures, but it wouldn't surprise me if U.S. visitors on average made up less than 50%

Wow I think you are wayyyyy off.

I wonder if you are using something that I would call Selective Observation. If you are basing your figure on your own observations, you may not be getting accurate numbers.

You are are programed to notice the exceptions, if you see a Brazilian tour group or hear a lot of British accents they make a bigger impression then all the other voices you normally hear.

Even at the height of Brazilian Tour Group season they aren't even close to that number. Also it seems like the Brits mostly travel late August.

Yes WDW wants to cultivate the international market but it costs more to do so. And if you haven't noticed most of their park building money is being used to bring Disney to them.

WDW prefers the low hanging fruit of young families, mostly with girls 5 to 10, who have daddies that will buy them tons of Princess stuff. :goodvibes

I've read this entire thread and what still goes through my head is that there will always be those non Florida resident people who go to Disney 5 times or more a year. Disney isn't losing money to the point that they need to build something more than Fanstasyland right now.

Now, would I like to see a Dark Kingdom YES! I think it's totally lame that the only time I could see the villains in true colors is during Halloween which really is not a convenient time for me to go. Plus it would be nice to have a few more intense rides. Let's face it When it comes to actually ride experiences Universal, heck Six Flags, does a better job.

As for the bus system overhaul. Sorry but I think for the size of the parks and the amount of people it has to transport they do a great job and I've lived in a City with the best transportation system out there. Disney is doing very well in that regard.

I disagree I shouldnt have to wait 45 minutes for a bus they do a terrible job.

And waiting 3+ hours to evacuate your "personal transport system" when it goes down is any better. :)

Wow we went straight from the lets build a 5th park to expand the monorail. :)

Those are cool pictures on your post Queen2PrincessG. I like the one of Malificent.:)

I've never waited more than 25 minutes for a bus and I've been 14 times. But what would replace the buses?

Items listed above is the logical choice! a 5th park will happen in 20-30 years! IF Disney would build a 5th park from scratch and done right It would cost 6-7 maybe 10 billion.

I've also had unacceptable waits for buses, and more than once. The bus system might be the single thing Disney does worst.

Visited the world for 6 nights last week and never waited more than 10 mins for a bus. It was the best bus service in all my trips (just under 20). I think they are starting to realize if you are waiting for a bus, you are not spending money.

I go 4-5 times a year in December I waiter exactly 49 minutes for a bus from BLT to DAK every time I try to go to DAK I wait at least 30 minutes.

IMO the TTA could be used large scale to replace mist of the bus system.

AK always has crappy transportation for some reason. Another thing, how much would using the TTA large scale cost?
