Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Is room service available right now? I thought it was unavailable everywhere, but I just read on the YC thread that someone ordered room service. 🤔

Unfortunately, no. The only resorts that are offering in-room dining are YC and GF (the two other original NBA resorts from last summer). I sort of assumed CSR would also follow suit and offer in-room dining, but it didn’t - not really sure if that’s due to the third-party group that operates CSR’s dining or what.

We are walking to tower bus stop. Busses so far have been horrible. I think they fill up at Casitas, and never come to Tower, because it’s hard to get a bus in the morning. I’m DVC, but feel strongly that the best bus situation is at the Values!!

on our way back from MK tonite, the bus stopped at all four stops, even though stop 3 is a ghost town, so ymmv with bus service at stop 4.

Just spoke with a CM who said they didn't have any information regarding the NBA and how it would affect guests. She told me that all I can do is wait and see what else is announced?!:confused3
I bailed.

I LOVE GDT. It’s my jam. But I’m not gambling in Feb on what this pseudo-NBA tournament does. I’m off to experience Swalphin for the first time instead! More expensive but I have a Marriott certificate to burn on one night so that’ll help even out the choke me level resort fee!

As I said GDT is my jam so I đź’Ż expect to be back on my next trip! (And I sincerely hope this NBA thing is not noticeable at all for those sticking it out!)

I'm a member in a closed group on FB strickly CSR. The person that runs it is a TA and knows a lot of people that works at CSR. Since I can't post the link I will copy and paste. I hope this is helpful. "All of this is subject to change of course - because nothing is official until it is. The players will be housed in the Casitas section. This section has direct access to the Convention Center - so that makes sense. They won’t be using resort amenities because that would negate the purpose of the “bubble” with resort guests present. We have heard of no changes or closures to current amenities or dining. The quiet pool, spa, gym and laundry in Casitas would be inaccessible to guests we assume. Guests are already being placed in Cabanas rather than Casitas. The Tower remains unaffected. They will likely have food catered in at the convention center. I would assume heightened security at the resort, so don’t leave without Magic Bands/key cards/ID. There will likely be walls or fences around Casitas. You won’t be able to explore the Casitas area. Still no refillable mugs"

The Swalphin is a great resort too. I've always enjoyed my stays there.

I bailed on a trip this month, hoping to reschedule for Feb or March. Will be interesting to see what they do. If it were the real NBA, I'd want to be there just to see the guys! :-P

ugh, as much as I want to stay here, this doesn't sound good to me. I feel it's wrong for them to move Casitas to Cabanas, preferred to standard just doesn't seem right to me. I'm just to the point where I want to call and be moved somewhere else. *sigh..:(

I am lucky in that we don't use the spa, gym, laundry etc. But if closing them to the public is true I can imagine it will be making a lot of people upset. The heightened security and wall situation is however making me re-think things. I don't want to go into my Disney bubble and then have to deal with heightened security. And the warning about being "checked out" as you stroll around resort... seriously? Walls constructed around certain areas of the resort as well... who wants to look at that?

Jan 2021. We just completed a week at CSR, Casita bldg 4 refurbed standard room. Group of adults. We like this resort.

We didn’t explore the resort allot this trip as we had been here a few times before, but Rix had decent bar food. It was good, if you are there, not a destination restaurant. Three Bridges has smaller plates menu items, and a few evenings had 55 minute wait, after park closing. It is all open air seating. The food was good and better than Rix. Three Bridges has a mobile order to go option on the ap. We didn’t do the El Mercado food court, as it had EXTREMELY limited options during our stay.

I was shocked how good the bus service was. For the whole week, we never waited for a bus. We didn’t wait at the resort, we didn’t wait at the parks to return to the resort. A bus always there within 5 minutes. (Low attendance week in mid Jan with 1/2 of the resort closed)

Bus routing is currently ... Casita bus stop (station 2) is currently the first stop for PARK buses. We requested Casita 4, very close to this bus stop, refurbished rooms. Tower is the second stop for PARK buses (Stops 3 and 4 are currently closed). So anyone staying in the Casitas can take any park bus as a ride to the tower, or front desk or merch shop. Buses for Disney Springs run opposite, starting at the Tower first, then Casita's. So from the Tower or front desk, take a Disney Spring bus back to Casita stop.

We are usually debating a stay at CSR vs CBR with skyliner. This trip, the updated rooms and new tower won out, given great bus service. If CBR does a room refurb, the resort battle would heat up again. CBR rooms are getting tired and need TLC. This trip we didn’t miss the skyliner, and we like the refurbished rooms.

To compensate for limited food at El Mercado, we also did a Amazon Now order for the week, 2 hour delivery for pop, water, room snacks, quick breakfast items. This went very well. $5 Amazon fee + $5 Amazon delivery tip. I had it delivered to the hotel bell services. So then I also tipped bell services $5. I figured having pop ($5 / 12-pack) and water ($4 / 20-pack) more than made up for the Disney prices of pop and bottled water ($4 / per bottle). You can take your own bottled water into the parks.

I thought it was only casitas open, that’s why I was surprised to be in cabanas. Virtually nobody over here.

We just spent the week at CSR, Casita bldg 4 (no one was there either), but our bus stop was open, and staff told us only the Tower and Casita's sections were open, everything else closed. weird !!!

I can confirm busses in the am did stop at Cabanas this morning. We went over to Casitas today for MK bus and got on an empty bus about 8:05 (2 AK and 2 DHS had arrived by this time).

By the time the bus turned to the Tower a bus for MK was there so maybe two busses now and one went to GDT first? (We definetly were on the first bus at Casitas as we got there way early)

On another note, there are several tents going up outside Casitas 2. G league related??

Regarding bolded - it would be weird if it wasn't related! :D

I think its definetly related! But not sure what?

What I saw yesterday would not impact anything though. Its in a parking lot outside Casitas 2. I was in the gift shop and convention area yesterday afternoon and evening and all looks as usual.

Im sorry no pictures. DD took a hard fall yesterday. I was only over at Bldg 2 because two of us had to walk back to the tower because the wheelchair had to go in the backseat and no room for us (otherwise I'd never have noticed tents, if not staying in Casitas one would likely not even notice them).

DH said when he and DD got back from urgent care today, G league is arriving though. Signage in the lobby directing G league to "pick up magic bands here".

I'll be down in the lobby later and will see what it looks like myself : )
