Here are tonight's offering, last before last rotation of the Chronos Club:
I agree that you probably can't go wrong in terms of room requests. We only stayed once and ended up in the ranchos section (not my request). I was worried that it would feel way out there, but with a bus stop behind us and the pool(s) a short walk, it really was quite nice. And I didn't mind walking to El Centro from that distance as the grounds are so beautiful. We have a standard room booked for October. Fist time staying at CSR. I usually put in room requests at other resorts, but looking at the map, it looks like every area has its pros and cons (some closer to pool, some closer to el centro, some closer to the tower) and nothing would be more than roughly a 10-minute walk away. Both Casitas and Ranchos look cute. Cabanas looks less cute, but they seem like they are a little closer to El Centro. Do you agree or disagree that a room request is not necessary at CSR?
And how is the soundproofing in these types of rooms? I sometimes request highest floor if there is a lot of noise from upstairs neighbors.
We have been in the Gran Destino tower for the past 6 nights and really enjoyed it! The ambiance of the tower is great, the room is awesome and spacious, the bathroom is a nice setup, and bus service has been on point. I do have one slight annoyance though. Maybe it is just my imagination, but the fire alarm sensor light blinks often, and more brightly, than in other hotels. I just counted and it blinks approximately every 8 seconds and it is on the wall right next to my bed. The thermostat is right below it and stays lit up and doesn't dim. I solved that by hanging a dark shirt over it. I'm not usually so light sensitive at night, but the blinking is starting to do me in as I try and fall asleep every night. Such a minor annoyance, I know!
We got back earlier this week from a 2 night quick stay at the CSR Tower (Club Level) last week on Thurs and Fri for MNSSHP, and we were absolutely blown away.
It was just my wife and my 2 sons (6 & 9) and we had the best experience we have ever had a Disney resort in the last however many years we have been going. My wife easily crowned CSR Tower and Club Level as the only way she'll go back. It probably doesn't hurt we got doused with pixie dust and got upgraded to a Deluxe Suite after having a bad/stressful experience at airport/DME (we didn't complain at all as it wasn't CSR's fault, but apparently we were visibly defeated). The suite was absolutely amazing, Club level was amazing, and DSS staff were even more amazing. We were close to calling Disney quits, but will be back after this experience, and will gladly splurge for the same upgrades we got next time.
Pool was not that crowded to us at all on Friday and Saturday (the day we checked out), and we only used the buses Fri and Sat for the Halloween Party and Disney Springs respectively and had no issues with waits or crowding with them at all.
I'd highly recommend staying here, even if we didn't get the pixie dust we got.
Can you tell me, do they offer kid-friendly food options in the CL lounge?

We had a standard room with 2 queen beds. It also annoyed me that one side of the bed didn't have any sort of bedside table or ledge. I had to keep my glasses, phone and water glass on the floor next to the bed since DH requires a table for his CPAP machine. It's just a minor thing, but I still found it annoying.
I feel your pain, I always get stuck with the side of the bed that lacks a table or anywhere to put anything. I usually tuck my (empty) suitcase in next to the bed, and use the top side as a ledge for my glasses, phone, and book.![]()

However, just like you. I’ll get over it. I will bring tape. I’ll be in the Gran Destino!!!
Thanks! Now I have to remind myself to bring black tape with me when I go lol
I meant for the thermostat. Not sure giving advices about how to tamper with the smoke detectors on a hotel room owned by Disney abides to the forum rules.
