Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

We have a standard room booked for October. Fist time staying at CSR. I usually put in room requests at other resorts, but looking at the map, it looks like every area has its pros and cons (some closer to pool, some closer to el centro, some closer to the tower) and nothing would be more than roughly a 10-minute walk away. Both Casitas and Ranchos look cute. Cabanas looks less cute, but they seem like they are a little closer to El Centro. Do you agree or disagree that a room request is not necessary at CSR?

And how is the soundproofing in these types of rooms? I sometimes request highest floor if there is a lot of noise from upstairs neighbors.

I agree that you probably can't go wrong in terms of room requests. We only stayed once and ended up in the ranchos section (not my request). I was worried that it would feel way out there, but with a bus stop behind us and the pool(s) a short walk, it really was quite nice. And I didn't mind walking to El Centro from that distance as the grounds are so beautiful.

I have also debated whether I should even bother with room requests for our Dec trip, but since I really like the feel of the cabanas I am requesting that. I also requested an upper floor just for the sake of a (possible) view from outside the room. But really, if I get neither of those I would be excited to try something different. The casitas look really nice too. Ah, maybe I should also remove the request and just see what happens! Coronado roulette!

In terms of soundproofing. We NEVER heard a peep from our neighbors during our 2 night stay. Seemed a lot more "solid" than our Pop room that we had just left. But we could have just been lucky.

@kimmar067 Thank you so much for taking the time to post your amazing pictures. I don't leave until October and have no idea where I'll end up for our split stay there but seeing your pictures is getting me even more excited.

We have been in the Gran Destino tower for the past 6 nights and really enjoyed it! The ambiance of the tower is great, the room is awesome and spacious, the bathroom is a nice setup, and bus service has been on point. I do have one slight annoyance though. Maybe it is just my imagination, but the fire alarm sensor light blinks often, and more brightly, than in other hotels. I just counted and it blinks approximately every 8 seconds and it is on the wall right next to my bed. The thermostat is right below it and stays lit up and doesn't dim. I solved that by hanging a dark shirt over it. I'm not usually so light sensitive at night, but the blinking is starting to do me in as I try and fall asleep every night. Such a minor annoyance, I know!

You’re not crazy. We are dark sleepers. It seems silly but it’s not.

The blue bulb on our cable box makes us nuts at bedtime if we don’t turn it off. We just finished building a house. Why on earth did I let them put the smoke detector on a 13’ master bedroom ceiling? Because I did not realize the new ones have a teeny, tiny white light in them. That I can see. Every night. 🙄

New building codes. That’s why you are seeing it.

I think when ours dies, shooting it might be the cheapest option. KIDDING OF COURSE PEOPLE.

I’m grateful you brought this up. To some it may seem silly. But a lit up thermostat, that doesn’t darken, is not my favorite. At all.

However, just like you. I’ll get over it. I will bring tape. I’ll be in the Gran Destino!!!

I’m glad you shared it. Thx

We got back earlier this week from a 2 night quick stay at the CSR Tower (Club Level) last week on Thurs and Fri for MNSSHP, and we were absolutely blown away.

It was just my wife and my 2 sons (6 & 9) and we had the best experience we have ever had a Disney resort in the last however many years we have been going. My wife easily crowned CSR Tower and Club Level as the only way she'll go back. It probably doesn't hurt we got doused with pixie dust and got upgraded to a Deluxe Suite after having a bad/stressful experience at airport/DME (we didn't complain at all as it wasn't CSR's fault, but apparently we were visibly defeated). The suite was absolutely amazing, Club level was amazing, and DSS staff were even more amazing. We were close to calling Disney quits, but will be back after this experience, and will gladly splurge for the same upgrades we got next time.

Pool was not that crowded to us at all on Friday and Saturday (the day we checked out), and we only used the buses Fri and Sat for the Halloween Party and Disney Springs respectively and had no issues with waits or crowding with them at all.

I'd highly recommend staying here, even if we didn't get the pixie dust we got.

Can you tell me, do they offer kid-friendly food options in the CL lounge?

They did but it also depends on how adventurous your kids are too. Breakfast was pretty basic scrambled eggs, bacon, 4 or 5 different fruits, and cereal. Of course on adult side there was yogurt, oatmeal, salmon, muffins, and different bread options. Dinner one night they had cod fish nuggets that I thought were pretty good and so did one of my kids. The other night they had mini sliders with and without cheese which both of my kids loved, especially my youngest who for some reason doesnt like cheese on his burger but likes cheese otherwise. Plus there was goldfish and the like during the day too. Desserts my kids liked the adult truffles and the different flavored mousses, but they also had a bowl of M&Ms for the kids too.

Edit: I think they were tarts, not mousse now that I think about it. Either way, they were good and my kids liked them

THIS! I know exactly what you are talking about! We stay in the tower for a long weekend in July, and that little blinking light drove. me. crazy!

We had a standard room with 2 queen beds. It also annoyed me that one side of the bed didn't have any sort of bedside table or ledge. I had to keep my glasses, phone and water glass on the floor next to the bed since DH requires a table for his CPAP machine. It's just a minor thing, but I still found it annoying.

Thanks! Now I have to remind myself to bring black tape with me when I go lol

I feel your pain, I always get stuck with the side of the bed that lacks a table or anywhere to put anything. I usually tuck my (empty) suitcase in next to the bed, and use the top side as a ledge for my glasses, phone, and book. :)

I have stayed at the Casitas section, building 4 twice for conventions. I loved the location.

It's not far from the pool and the bus stop is right outside the building.

I thought the soundproofing was really good. I had no issues.

Not sure giving advices about how to tamper with the smoke detectors on a hotel room owned by Disney abides to the forum rules.
