How much does your arrival day make a difference in getting your room requests? Would we have a better chance at getting what we request since we arrive on a Wednesday instead of a Saturday or Sunday?

Ok staying at CSR in Nov. where are you finding the spot to add room requests to you existing resort reservations ? TIA

You can add room requests during online check-in which will become available in your MDE at 60 days out.

Sure, I have some screengrabs. The only one not visible in there was Garden View so I showed it on the right. I had to reupload since my resized ones were too small.View attachment 185923 View attachment 185924

I've never done online check in and I'm on the fence as to whether or not I should. Is the option to choose adjoining rooms new? As I've mentioned before we are traveling with another family and would like to be near each other. The reservations are in 2 different names. I'm thinking I'll probably just call and make sure they linked our rooms as they said when we made the original reservations.

I'm not an expert either, we never stayed on site when I went as a child plus no Internet back in that day :P

But I have read here that you always need to call and it wasn't guaranteed. Perhaps they have found some sort of way to make that more visible for room assignment. In my case we have Business Class standard room so I'd rather just get the room as soon as possible. Some choices seem confusing, such as asking for 2 queen beds. Perhaps it allows them to wiggle people around and downgrade more easily.

I our experience this year, the online check-in was extremely limited in what it allowed you to request. Calling is much better, IMO.

We are at CSR - arrived Sunday. Resort is as beautiful as ever! Huge convention of young adults here now -- EY -- 4,000 attendees! They are representing millennials in a very positive way!
They are accountants, and I was an accounting professor for a few of them. Also, I am checking into the CSR on Saturday for my family VACAY. Woo Hoo!!

Water view at CSR is the lake or any pool, right...? Looking at another CSR stay, but standard isn't available.

Unless it changed since we did it in May, it was very limited. I didn't see a free-text box that allowed us to specify Cabanas 8.

Checked into CSR today. The only request I made was for early check-in. Got into our room at 10 AM, which was great! I did online check in, but figured I'd go to the desk anyway to find out if the room was going to be ready early. The CM asked me if I was traveling with any other families (we are not) and gave me two buildings to choose from. I chose Ranchos and we love it! It's my first time staying in this resort after more than 30 on site stays. Super happy we decided to finally give CSR a try!

Actually, we've had better luck when checking in on a Saturday or Sunday as a lot of people check out those days. We had a hard time getting connecting rooms when we checked in on a Monday- they said they had a lot of checkins over the weekend and we couldn't get connecting rooms for a couple of days. We did move but it was inconvenient. We now try to arrive early on the weekends.

Do all buildings have elevators? I will be traveling with my DH and DS, who will be 18 months at the time of the trip. I was thinking of requesting cabanas, lower floor. However, I know that requests are just that, and not always granted. (I was delighted to be assigned a second floor room at CSR while pregnant last year!) I was just curious about the availability of elevators as we will have our stroller with us.

Every building at CSR has an elevator. The only tricky spot is casita 2, 4th floor. The 4th floor only has access by elevator from casita 3 or the stairs from the third floor. The elevator for casita 1 and 2 is in between casita 1 & 2 facing the parking lot and there is another elevator for building 1 by the convention center.
