Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Bit of a random one: are you allowed to skate on the running paths round the resort (roller not board). Husband may be going out for a run or two as he's training for a race, so considering joining him on my skates - but don't want to waste valuable luggage weight/space if they're not allowed! (Pretty sure I'll be equally as happy by the pool ;))
Thats a good question. I have been going to Coronado for years and I have only seen people jogging.

has anyone ever had a prime pantry box shipped to CSR?

We have had Garden Grocer deliver. If you are not familiar, check out their website. Last trip I thought about prime pantry, but GG had more selection, and you can get cold food as well. We usually get a case of water, milk, yogurt, carrot stick/apple slices, as well as some snacks we don't want to pack because they are a little more fragile, like goldfish. There is a $40 minimum, and I believe delivery was around $12, but if you order further ahead you may get a discount. You can pick your delivery time, and if you are not at the resort, baggage will hold your items and then deliver to your room.
I am sure you would have no problem having a box delivered from prime pantry. I know since it is a convention center resort, there is a fee for deliveries. I think it depends on the size of the box. You can look on one of the first couple pages of this thread to see the details.

Well I just noticed on the convention schedule Dec 1-5 Spirit Varsity spectacular, hope the resort isn't too crazy with loud cheerleaders :(

I am not 100% sure but I believe that WDW does not allow skates anywhere on resort property. We weren't even allowed to have them in college program housing (though that was a million years ago for me - it may have changed).

Hi everybody!!

After much umming and ahhing, I've finally switched from POR to CSR! We will be there 9/19-9/23 before boarding our Disney Cruise!!! Very excited to spend a day at the Dig Site!!
The dig site is wonderful! The pool bar is terrific... and I always find chairs available. Enjoy!!

I've been contemplating switching our reservations from POP to CSR for a while now, and I finally did it. pixiedust:

Great info on here. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I've definitely learned a lot from reading though this.

Now here's to hoping that we don't get any bad groups during our stay. I work in a resort here in Vegas and we get groups. Some good, some bad, some that are absolutely horrible. Once we had a hospitality convention for a specific brand of motels (not naming the specific brand for obvious reasons) that were operated/owned by a specific ethnic group. Let's just say that they have a different outlook on women than other ethnic groups, so we had to remove all women front desk managers and coordinators etc. We've also had dance competition groups that were also pretty bad. Moms would get very vicious over things we weren't able to do for them, like give them a comp room for their children to practice their dance routine in. The sad thing is that these big groups bring in big money, so these resorts will be willing to deal with them.

I'm used to it though, so anything besides being in this crazy city would be great and worth the stay :thumbsup2

Thanks again.

I know the siestas cantina by the dig site serves entrees. Can you use the dining plan here? I don't really see any dessert options, but there are frozen drinks. Can they be used as a dessert or drink on the dining plan?

Yes, you can use the DDP there, and they have some standard-issue QS desserts.

They have the frozen mickey on a stick and the mickey ice cream sandwich for desert. You can not use the frozen drinks as part of your quick serve. My kids always want the pina colada drink and I pay for that separate.

Our last trip was a last-minute decision (when I found $39 flights round trip!) and our usual resort, Pop, was booked so we tried out the resort I always wanted to try, CSR. I have to say, we loved it. Although I thought the room was very worn, the resort was beautiful and the overall feel of our stay was such an upgrade over Pop. There was a large group staying at CSR when we were there, and the only thing that annoyed us is the staff at CSR constantly would ask us if we were part of that group because they obviously were catering to their needs much more than the regular resort guests which was a bit ridiculous. We felt a bit less important, but we were there for Disney, not to be catered to at the resort.

I have booked our flights for another short weekend getaway in October and I am really struggling with where to stay. While economically it makes more sense to stay at Pop I really want to return to CSR again because it feels more like a vacation and much more relaxing.

Last time we stayed at CSR we had business class and I remember the beds being comfy. The time before I don't remember the beds being unfortable, so they must have been good. However, we just stayed at POFQ and I thought the beds were horrible. Plus we had the blue Mickey toiletries not the orange ones that the deluxes have and I know we've had at CSR. So my big question is, am I going crazy or does CSR have upgraded amenities and bedding just as the deluxes or is it just business class that does?

You are correct. CSR has higher quality matresses and toiletries than the other Mods. Other than balconies and indoor hallways it's pretty much a Deluxe resort.

I am SO READY! I have 24 days until I leave for CSR for 8 nights. The last few weeks are killer. I am excited to spend a day by the pool. What's funny about CSR is that I have stayed there before and NEVER saw the pool my entire trip!

Okay friends.......we booked a standard room in Oct. as a backup to a DVC waitlist. We are at SSR for 2 nights, trying for a total of 5. Today I was able to book CSR at a 35% military discount for the 3 nights we need. So if we don't get our waitlist we will split with CSR. Can you suggest an area to request???? We stayed here a long time ago (Nov. 2005) when we did a split with SOG and were only here 2-3 nights. I don't remember what section we stayed in. It will be myself, hubby and 17 year old son. Thanks.

For proximity to the main pool, Ranchos or Cabanas.

For a blend of pool + Quick Service access, Cabanas.

We like Cabanas 8A or 8B, which are close to the Main Pool and Bus Stop, and a short walk to El Centro.
