Thanks again. We're looking into the possibility of splitting our party of 6 into 2 rooms. We don't need adjoining rooms, but what are the chances of at least getting 2 rooms in the same building?
Pretty good.

@KYTink - call and see if business class is available. If you want a room between the pool and main building, request a standard Cabanas section room.

Bus question.
We're staying Business Class, so the closest bus stop for us is at El Centro. This is the last stop to be picked up before heading to the parks, I believe. We'll be there Good Friday through the Wednesday after Easter. I want to hit MK at rope drop (probably 7am EMH) on Easter Sunday. Would it be wise to take a hike to the Casitas bus stop (which I believe is the first picked up) that morning? Or is it unlikely that the MK bus will be full that early on Easter Sunday?

The only other early morning I'd like to make sure we get on a bus is our AK morning on Monday. That's EMH too. Would it be necessary to hit the Casitas bus stop that morning, or would El Centro be okay?

Just a heads up, if you are traveling with children you don't want to miss the Candy scramble. The past few years it was at 9:00. Minnie will have a meet and greet. There is also many other Easter festivities.

No kids. Just me and my 70+ year old folks. Glad to hear there are Easter festivities at the resorts though. :)

Our last stay at CSR was a 16 nighter from Dec. 10th-26th, 2014 in Business Class. So it was a pretty good sample of lower crowds pre-Christmas and heavy crowds from the 23rd on. We used the El Centro stop exclusively the entire trip with no issues or full buses passing us by. We never waited longer than 15 mins for a bus and most waits were under 10 mins. The only difference I noticed was the buses were a little fuller after the 23rd, but never to full to let us on. I did stand a couple times later in the trip.

Usually when I hear a full bus story from CSR it has to do with MK rope drop. That's the one you may consider walking over to Casitas. I wouldn't bother myself, but if it would ruin your day not to be on that first bus than do it for peace of mind. The AK morning I wouldn't worry about. I'd been stunned if you had a full bus heading there.

Okay, that's kind of what I was thinking. What about Epcot on Saturday morning before Easter? We don't necessarily need to hit rope drop, but we'd like to be there between 9:30 and 10am. El Centro okay, or walk to Casitas?

El Centro should be fine. Anything that isn't rope drop should be fine. It's really just that MK Rope drop that would be a concern. We caught a bus at El Centro to AK 10am Christmas morning with no issues. Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to the buses of course, but based on my experiences at CSR which is up to about 60 nights now I'd say you'd be ok.

One of the perks of Business Class is that it's ridiculously close to that bus stop. I won't walk to the other stops just on principal. Being that close to the bus stop is part of what I paid for! LOL;)

We are staying business class the same time as you!

Hi, this thread has been so great! I'm considering staying at CSR for our stay in early September. DH and I will be taking our then 7, 5, and 2 year olds which has me stressing about the buses. I hate the thought of getting on the first stop (in the casitas area of I'm following along correctly) just to have them sit longer on the bus (my 2 yo is not so patient...) so I'd like to get on at the last stop but I'm reading the buses can fill, obviously. I'm just wondering how much of an issue full busses would be during such a slow time of year? Would it be better to risk it for the shorter bus ride with a toddler?

We just got back from a 9 night stay at CSR. It was our first time both for WDW and for the resort. I kept notes on my phone for ALOT of stuff...one of them being how long it took us to go through all 4 bus stops each time after getting on at stop 2 (Casitas 4 and 5). The fastest loop around the entire resort was 6 minutes, the longest was 12 minutes. We got onto the bus any time between 7:30am and 10. The longest ride was at 10am. Like a previous poster, my kids have always viewed a bus as a kind of ride and love to look out the windows to see what is out there. At ages 7 and 8, they loved looking out the windows to see things like the Epcot ball or the Tower of Terror or different resorts, etc.

2 questions......

1. Coffee maker in the room - does it use Keurig type pods or tea bag pods?

2. Is there an alarm clock?

Thanks!

Just stayed in room 4430, no alarm clock. We just used my phone, which is what I use at home also, so it was no big deal.

I gave my travel agent a list of preferences for our room, but I just discovered touringplans' room request fax service. Would it be redundant, or worse counterproductive, to use both? Should I choose one over the other?

I decided to copy the request that Touring Plans had generated and faxed it 10 days before our arrival. I'm glad I did because the Touring Plans fax failed according to an email I got from them. I don't know if they ever got one to go through....I never got an email telling me it did. I didn't stress over it since I had already sent one on my own.

Sorry if this has been asked/ answered.... Do you have to tip if you are offered a golf cart ride to your room upon arrival if you don't need help with your bags? Or any other time around the resort?

And.... Is the casitas pool only for doing laps or is it for leisure swimming as well?

Thanks!

I don't think you HAVE to tip for the golf cart, but I'm sure it's appreciated. :)

From what I saw last week, the casitas pool is also for leisure swimming. We saw kiddos playing in the water and such while we were there, but there are no scheduled activities there like the main pool has.

While I'm sure a tip wouldn't be refused I don't think its expected. For the initial trip to my room I would probably tip. For a random ride at the resort I probably wouldn't bother.

I've never actually seen anyone doing laps in that pool and I use the Fitness center so I'm by there quite often.

It is a really large quiet pool, twice the size of the other two. One of our stays we had a room in Casitas 4 and we never bothered with the main pool as this pool was more than adequate and right outside our room. :)
