Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

So I am looking at August 19-25. I can get the best rate on a waterview room (bw FL Res and AP).

Would you go with this? What are the chances I get a refurbed room? Should I book the waterview room or book a different room to up my chances of a refurb?

Are all of the restaurants and amenities still open?

Coronado Crush--My favorite drink at CSR. I could go for one of these right now.

HA! I decided to upgrade this time from All Stars to CSR specifically because it has a real lounge. The All Star resorts only have pool bars with outdoor seating. It'll be hot as blazes when I'll be there so I'm really looking forward to an indoor lounge.

just doing our online check in for 3rd August till 22nd August but the only options we have got are Cabanas,Ground Floor, Upper Floor, near transportation and near elevator. Is this the same for everyone should we expect more options we were hoping for Rancho's. Should we email our request through Thanks

Officially resort hopping to CSR for 4 nights of my September Trip! I'm super excited! Now I can't decide what building/room to request..... I booked a standard room so what do you recommend?

Changing my question.... is it realistic to think that Cabanas 8A refurb will be completed by September? I'd like to stay in Cabanas or Casitas.

Is there an updated room listing, what's finished and what isn't, on the first page?
I think it would be nice to see which buildings are done and what is being worked on currently.

If it is already on the first page, my apologies.
I need to read it more carefully.

I see you made your decision. I think it's a good thing, especially for just a small price increase. Are you going to plan some time at the resort so you can enjoy the amenities? I'm going to. After staying at value resorts the last 4 or 5 visits I don't want to just go from my room to the theme parks. If I did, I might as well just stay at a value again this time.

Yes, I did! After the responses I got, plus reading through this thread.... I'm convinced I'll love staying at a Moderate! I'm pumped. And yes, i am going to try to plan some resort time! I want to utilize the lovely pool for sure...and the indoor bar!

I would love to hear about people's recent experiences at the table service restaurants, particularly Las Ventanas.

It's certainly not one of the DIS darling restaurants. I don't think I've ever seen it listed when people are asking for recommendations. But since I'll be staying at this resort, it would certainly be convenient for breakfast before I go to a theme park, or a relaxing lunch during my mid-day break.

And I'd really like to know if you didn't have ADRs and was that a problem?

Thanks!

Are the coffee pots in the refurbished rooms the same as previously? Cuisinarts using single-serve flat pods? We're booked there for Aug. 7-12 and want to bring coffee with us.

TIA!

Las Ventanas is a small restaurant just beyond the Rix lounge at the start of the convention space corridor. Originally set up as a table service for all 3 meals for the convention people since Maya Grill is only open for dinner, and some attendees did not want the counter service Pepper Market since that one can get loud at meal times. It's open to all though, has a limited but good menu, but we see mostly conference people there when there is one going on.

Have never seen the ADRs fully booked for it, it's often available when I check last minute reservations.

If you look at the video of a refurbished room in post #6698, the rooms now have Keurig Coffee makers.

Coffee machines in 7A for the refurbished rooms are now Keurig. Housekeeping will leave coffee and tea pods, Joffrey coffee and Twining tea.

The older rooms still have the Cuisinart machines.

Thanks so much! It wasn't there last time I stayed at CSR. Just Maya Grill (which had a limited breakfast buffet at that time).

I wasn't impressed with Pepper Market last time I stayed at CSR so am looking for alternatives. And it's so much more relaxing, and really not much more money, to have a TS breakfast rather than a chaotic food court experience.

Pepper Market has changed too, operates more like a normal food court now. No escorted seating, no tipping, no stamped card, choose your food from the various stations, pay as you leave the station area, find a seat with your tray. Some stations can be a little slower as they cook the food to order, others have sandwiches, etc. ready to choose. We still find the selections at PM better than the average food court. There is also a station inside the restaurant to fill your mug if you have one.

We were at CSR two weeks ago, they FINALLY have an adult Mickey Waffles platter at breakfast!

LOL have you been reading my old posts? Because you totally touched on some (but not all) of the issues I had with Pepper Market.

You mentioned the mugs...do you know if they still have two sizes of mugs? Last time I stayed, they had the regular Disney-sized refillable mug, but they also had a larger one. I bought the larger one, but after so many years it's getting a little ragged. Would like to buy a new one if they have a larger size.

Thanks!

Sigh. So I guess we won't know until arrival which one we'll have. On the positive side, we won't have to pack pods or K-cups!
