I don't follow!

I believe all of Casitas are preffered rooms. 1,2 & 3 are the better rooms for getting to El Centro. 5 are the better rooms for getting to the dig site.

In my opinion, it isn't worth booking a preferred room.

Casitas 1, 2 & 3 are the preferred buildings at CSR. Casitas 4 & 5 are standard. Cabanas are standard (except 9b which is business class).

Joining in! I just booked FD for a short trip in December (12/14-12/17) and switched from Pop to CSR b/c it was only $70 more after I upgraded to the Plus plan at Pop. Excited! Never stayed there before and I'm hearing great things!

Hi Punkin! :wave2: We will be there 12/12 - 12/16 with ya! We're also from GA ;)

This probably seems like a silly question but does anyone know if Pepper Market serves (the adult, not kids) chicken nuggets? I have an 11 year old with severe food aversion issues and it's about the only thing she will eat the week we're there. I looked at the menus at all ears but didn't see them listed. TIA!

Anyone can order the Chicken Nuggets. They were listed as Popcorn Chicken kids meal with fries and a cookie. 7.99 All other places I saw around WDW called it chicken nuggets. No chicken tenders were to be found for my picky kid. I have to say I miss the chicken tender/fries at Rix cafe myself.

Only buildings 1-3 are preferred.

What time do the busses start running? I have a CRT reservation one morning and I'm wondering if I can use the bus system (would prefer to), or if we'd have to use a taxi?
Im so so excited to try this resort and visit WDW for the first time!!

I am having a really hard time making up my mind where to stay for our vacation. I am now thinking Coronado Springs business class might be a good fit. I had just had a couple of questions:

-is there an elevator in cabanas 9b?
-are the rooms quiet (ie., if on first floor can you hear noise from upstairs)?
-when we put the kids to bed at night we like to sit and chat. Usually on a balcony, but as there isn't one, strange question, would we be able to sit by the sink with the doors closed? Our other option is to bring our chairs outside. Is there enough room to do this?

TIA

Yes there are elevators in 9B. They are on the ends.
I've stayed on the 1st floor floor two times. I didn't hear any noise from above. I don't know if anyone was up there. Our last visit in April the resort was 48% full. The rooms are quite. I could not hear the neighbors. We were on the back side of 9B overlooking the pond. On time was 9530 and the other was 9541. Both were great.

Right outside your door is lined with scrubs and greenery. You could sit in the grass or right outside your door. There wasn't much traffic.

I would request ground floor.

This is outside 9530. 9b

We're back!

Thought I'd post for those waffling about a stay at CSR... It was wonderful. We split our stay with an AKL savannah view room, so I will compare CSR with our delux stay.

CSR checkin... We arrived around 6 pm after a very easy drive over from MCO. No one greeted us with an iPad or whatever to start the process, but there was no one in line either. The lobby area was lovely, and we instantly felt like we were back in Mexico, and not at disney lol. Learned we got upper floor cabanas which was what I requested, in 9A... Sounded good to me, about halfway between the lobby and the dig site, with a quiet pool and laundry right there. Found the room no problem, and they gave us a corner room! I suppose we were pixie dusted from our standard view... It was more of a garden view, and from the door we could see the quiet pool.

Room... Very clean, loved the triple sheeting, and the doors separating the bathroom area from the room.

Quiet pool... Perfect to hit after a hot day at the parks, we actually left MK earlier than planned the 1st full day, because us Oregonians couldn't stand the heat and crowds any longer, and came back and swam in the quiet pool.

Laundry... Did laundry on Saturday, $2 to wash, $2 to dry... Everything was clean in there, and my clothes came out fine.

Dig site pool... Dd and dh spent all Saturday morning here, and loved it... They loved the slide and the whole thing... Oddly, I never did find the hot tub... Guess it was a little hidden? We did walk by on our first night and saw the set up for movies, and that was really cool... And dd climbed around on the playground a bit, and loved it. Dig site was amazing though.

Food... Ate at the Maya grill for dinner, service a bit slow, but food was fantastic. Ate two breakfasts at 7:15 am and 1 lunch around 1 pm at pepper market. Have to say I didn't mind the system at all, and we loved the variety there, and it was super easy to find a place to sit.

Parking... Encircles the whole resort, so you can always get a spot near your room without feeling like you are hiking a mile.

Just to compare... You would think AKL blew our minds right? Well...

AKL room was nice, liked having a balcony, the theming was well done etc, and the room was clean. Other than the balcony and seeing some animals (we were on the uzima trail-had mostly cattle and antelope type animals), CSR was every bit as nice, and we missed the doors closing off the bathroom actually at AKL. The lobby of course is over the top themed, and we were greeted out front on check in and escorted to the desk. The pool was okay, the slide not as fun, and it was way more crowded. I did find the hot tub tho. The Mara was good quick service, we ate there twice for breakfast, but lacked the variety of pepper market, but did have a great cooler section of yogurts and drinks. Boma for breakfast was wonderful, and I would eat there again in a heartbeat. For all those that argue about it, the juice at Boma and the juice at ohana are the same thing with a different name... Both are passion orange guava, better known as POG. Sanaa was a wonderful meal, and we got a window seat and saw many more animals then we did from our room. Parking sucked and was a hike to and from every day, not to mention how large AKL is and how far you can be from the lobby, we were about halfway down, and it was a hike.

If we returned to wdw (which is unlikely in the near future), I think we all agreed we would just stay at CSR. We visited the poly, grand Floridian, and beach club too... And the only one that appealed to us theme-wise was the poly. If we stayed there, it might be on a split stay with CSR, just to take advantage of the monorail. But this trip we had our rental car, and staying at a monorail resort would be silly with a rental.

So if you are waffling, or reading bad reports, or thinking maybe a moderate isn't for you, just do it... CSR was great. :)

Great trip report ~ makes me excited for our stay here. Just curious, how far were you from the closest bus stop? Thanks :)

Two-three minute walk to the one outside of cabanas 8a... We drove, so our car was right outside our building, maybe 30 seconds from our door :)

Wow, that sounds like a great location. I'm hoping we get the Cabanas section when we go. Thanks for the quick reply :)

Thanks for the report. We had booked POFQ using a BB offer, but we just switched over to CSR with free dining (to save us over $500). My DW was a little worried after reading some reports/reviews about CSR. I'll make sure she reads your report - it will hopefully make her feel better about the switch.

How far (in minutes) is the walk from building 9A to the Pepper market, and to the Dig site? Did you ever take the bus to any park of downtown Disney? Hopefully some one can give us a report on their experience with buses.

9a is a pretty even split between pepper and the dig site... 5 minutes either way. I did not ride any buses... But in retrospect should have taken the bus to DTD... Parking was no joke a mile away on a Saturday night, it was a mad house, and for what should have been a pretty cool place to check things out, I hated it. Trex was super fun, and with priority seating was a two minute wait (standby was over an hour.) But the walk in the heat sucked, and I was pretty cranky. We went to the WOD store, and it was so crowded. Overall not a good experience for us.

Bump... Anyone know?

I have been stalking the boards for several months, this question has been asked a few times, and there are always folks who post that they used the bus system with no problems for early reservations. The advice is to get out to the bus stops early. I am planning to use the bus for my 8:30 tour at MK in a couple of weeks. I will probably aim get out there around 7:00- 7:10.

There are also usually a few folks who say sleep in and take a cab.

If we decided to do breakfast at Boma before hitting AK, would we take the AK bus and then the AKL bus from there? Would they all be running early enough to do a morning ADR like that?

I know, otherwise a taxi would be the way to go...
