Is there a floor or area in the tower where you don't want your room to be, for instance, are there rooms above Chef Mickey's, if so, is it loud in those rooms?

I am familiar with the noisy rooms at WL that are above the lobby and restaurant. Some people reported they heard lattering all day and night. Are there rooms like this at CR in the tower that should be avoided?

I'm not sure about this. I've only stay on 14 in the tower.

I think I'd ask for a room as high as possible (like 10 or 11) for the view. The higher up, the more you see.

Sooo....requesting being closer to the MK path isn't really the way to go?
Better to be close to tower/monorail/shops/restaurant?
What kind of time would I save being near path vs near tower? Is there a difference- is everything far away in Wing.

Also- I never hear anyone mention the South Wing- What happens if I get stuck over there? Has anyone stayed there?

I hope Im not asking too many questions, but since I have not familiarity with this resort I love tips from DISers.
I have walked from MK to CR before- but dont remember a swell path- I recall crossing a busy road and over an island in middle of road- no real "path" there.

I've only stayed in the North wing. The north is closer to the bus stop. The south is closer to the pool. We did not find the walk to the pool to long from the north. The north is also closer to the food court. I believe north is all non-smoking and smoking rooms can be found in the south. Both north & south have their own laundry (none in the tower). I have see people post that they enjoy staying in the south better than the north.

HTH's,

What is the current status of coffee makers and refridgerators?

How's the room service?

Is it true if you don't get a MK view then you can see the nightly water parade on the other side of the tower?

That's it for now :flower: TIA!

I don't know abt #1&2.

#3, you can still see the water parade on the MK side. It's pretty far away, you'd see the "backside" view from it's Poly & GF stops. You can always walk down to the beach to see it from the CR. The music is LOUD! You'll HEAR it! *LOL*

We are just back and had a North wing room # 7338. It was with a view of the beach on the lagoon but we discovered that we could see some of the nightly fireworks from our room. I forgot what channel on the TV had the music and I never did find it! :rotfl:

It was a bit of a walk back to the lobby but there was a close exit to a parking lot where we were able to park our car.

There was a refrigerator in our room and a small four cup coffee maker. We broke a toilet seat somehow one night and I called it in and within 20 minutes it was replaced! I was impressed! I wish my "honey do" list got done so quick! :confused3

We never did get any wash cloth animals so that was a bit disappointing. When we stayed at the PC we had different animals every night! :sad2:

Our room was large with two queens and very quiet. The safe was larger than the ones at PC and held our video camera very well! The glass door was difficult to open when we fed the many birds and squirrels our snacks.

The color and decor are wild and nothing matches anything but that is the style there. There were plenty of drawers and the table was nice for snacks and breakfast.

The first three days we got a USA Today newspaper left outside our door but after that we had none.

We found our stay very enjoyable!

I did a quick search in this thread and didn't find the answer to my question.

Is there a viewing or observation area that anyone can go to for WISHES viewing? I am talking other than the rooftop one that is for California Grill only. I have heard rumor of a second floor observation area where they pipe in the music. Can anyone conform/deny?

We will be going to Chef Mickeys on our arrival day and I want to know where we can go to see the fireworks.

Thank You!

There are balconies on the end of each floor. We found that the side nearest the lagoon had the best view. We went to the 8th floor one night and had the entire area all to ourselves. There were people on a large balcony area right below us. It was the same floor where the gift shop is and on the side nearest the Magic Kingdom. I don't know if there was music or not. We were too busy oooohing and ahhing ourselves! :rotfl:

There is a 4th floor balcony for viewing. Simply ask at the front desk when you check in how to reach it.

Hi. This is my first post so bear with me(I'm a lurker) We are staying at the Contemp. June 30th-July5th. We have four DD(13,10,3,1). What would you suggest as far as room type?(requested garden north). We would put the baby in a crib and our 3 yo on the daybed. Our older two will not peacefully sleep in the same bed so I was going to request a rollaway. Would we have more room in a king room with two rollaways, or a queen with just one rollaway? I think the rollaways are $15/night. It will be very worth it for my sanity. I've learned so much from this board, but I don't think I've seen this Q asked before. Thanks in advance. Cecilia

What I would do is ask for a room with 2 Queens and a roll away. The rooms seem to be plenty big for that, and if you ask for 2 Queens (which there are more of) then you may have a better chance of getting a location you want.

Welcome to the Dis! :disrocks:

Our 1st stay was in the North wing. We were on the 2nd floor, about 1/2 way down. We were on the MK side & had a wonderful view of the fireworks. It was nice watching them from our window while Brittany was sleeping.
The rooms and the bathrooms are both large. I don't know about roll aways as we never asked.

Thanks for the advice and thanks for the welcome. You are a knowlegable bunch. My girls have me obsessing about this trip. It's stressful going on vacation. I will ask for the two queens. A fireworks view over the 4th of July would be too good to be true. Thanks for responding. Cecilia

Also, from what I understood when calling to confirm our ressie, king rooms are few and far between, so they do limit the choices you have in rooms. The queens still offer more than enough room though. I had never in my life been in a hotel room as big as CR's. They were even bigger than our studios at SSR which I thought was crazy!

Hi CR fans! I'm hoping to make my dream come true and stay here in Dec 2005 for a couple of nights during our trip. I know the GF, WL and Beach Club all are noted for fantastic Christmas decorations...but can anyone enlighten me regarding the CR??? Do they have nice Christmas decorations too??? Or would I be better off sticking w/ WL? :scratchin

Thanks!

Does anyone know if there are two full baths in the CR 1 bdrm suites on the 14th floor? Looking at the layout it almost seems there is a shower in the 2nd bathroom.

TIA! :earsboy:

Each bedroom has it's own bath. Here a site with great floor plans for all WDW hotels.

For some reason when I try to post the sites address it will print out only part of it.
Go to www.kingdom-travel.com
and click on the Contemporary, scroll to the bottom and you will see the floor plans for all the different rooms.

WL and CR have such different themes - Not sure how much hep this will be - - although not usually fond of WL it was beautiful at Christmas! Thought that's the one time of yr I'd stay there because of the fireplace and Christmas decorations.

Have not stayed at CR in several years, but we used to love it there - we became fans of a more relaxed theme. We visited last Christmas and it was so colorful and festive that it might be the resort for a Dec 2005 stay.:)

All the trees and colorful decorations softened the usual more sterile feel to CR. Hope they keep it as colorful next year and not go with a white/silver color scheme for the holidays.:flower:

Hi all,

Does anyone know where the Handicapped accessible rooms are located in both the wings and the tower?

Kimberly, what happened to the link to your pics?

I was daydreaming about my august trip and wanted to see them.
Thanks! pete
