Yes they do have DVD players. Also what days in December are you there, because I might just see you. I am there from the 16-25, as it says in my signiture.

14 to 17. I'll be on the look out for the Canadian. :teeth: It will be me, a friend and my DS(5-well less than a month shy of 6). I haven't told him yet. I really want to but don't want to tell his 2 sisters (7 & 3) that they are staying home. He needs some special time with Mom. I took my DD for her 7th birthday so DS has been telling me he wants to go for his birthday-we did go as a family for his 3rd birthday. I hope he'll be happy with my choice to go for all the Christmas celebrations instead. He really loves MNSSHP but I just can't go that time of year this year. I think he'll enjoy MVMCP and he's going to be so excited to be staying at the CR and the 12th floor. And he's loves concierge. :teeth: Who doesn't?

hi, we have booked to stay on the atrium floor next dec, would it be possible for me to ask for wheat free bread in the atrium club, i have a wheat intolerance and find it hard to eat in lots of places any help greatly appreciated, thanks susie2

DH and I just got back this morning from our 15th Anniversary long weekend. This was my first time at CR. We were in the North Wing. It was okay. I do not believe our room was renavated. But it was nice. We thought about upgrading to Concierge but it was $700 more so we said no.

We had a great time. We did Epcot Food and Wine (DH sampled alot of wine) good thing we could take the monorail back, MK on Sat, that was packed and had dinner at Narcoosee's. That was our Anniversary dinner. It was great. They gave us a free dessert and personalized menus. Our server was great. We also went to Cali Grill and watched the fireworks from outiside last night. That was awesome.

We are thinking of MK view for our family vacation next year. But are not sure we are a family of 5 so we may split our stay do a few nights off site then 4 nights at CR. You cannot beat this location. It was the best.

All in all we loved CR the room was okay, but we now know we will stay in the Tower if we go to CR again. We missed the kids alot and could not wait to see them.

Oh yeah something else. The first night there we got to bed late our plane was delayed a couple of hours. But around 1:30 and 2:00 we heard fireworks and clapping. We were like what is going on. But let it go. So at MK on Sat morning we got to see the first show of the new MK show about Dreams. It was sooooo good. We really enjoyed it. While we were standing watching there were some Execs from Disney were nex to us. They were like little kids, laughing and so proud of their new show. It was fun to watch. They asked us how we liked the show we said it was great and they were so happy about it. They said it was the first one and they had been practicing at night. So thats what we heard. Then they gave us free FP tickets for I guess liking the show, we also had our Happy Anniversary pins on.

Sorry for the long post but we had a great time and saw Disney in a whole new prospective not having the kids. But I do not think I will do it again without them. I really missed them.

Do you by chance have a gluten intolerance? I can't have wheat either. I stayed at the Boardwalk one year and they were wonderful. I got a separate cheese and fruit plate. I was new to celiac's at the time, so didn't know what to ask for. I did not have the same luck at the Polynesian last year. It all depends on the Chef. One Chef (Kim) would have made me anything I wanted. I have already had my TA contact them at CR. I am supposed to be able to talk to a Chef before I go. I will be going in March of next year. The Chef's from the California Grill are the one's who prepare the offerings for the concierge. They are wonderful with wheat allergies. I am hoping for the best. Let them know right away. Your going in December of 2007, I presume. I can let you know what I do and what is going on. It is a learning experience with me. I find if you know what to request, you can usually get it. Just keep in communication with them, let the IPO know, and ask to speak to a Chef before you arrive. I was able to get gluten (wheat free) waffles at the Poly. I think I will be more prepared and know what I want this year. Hope this helps. Janetr :)

I'm sure you can. Our dds have to have lactose free milk. We emailed IPO before our trip and they had it on hand for them when we arrived. About the middle of the week they reordered some more just to make sure they would have it for breakfast for the rest of the week. They were very helpful.

thanks janet, that would be a great help, i am very new to this also, and finding it hard at the moment with what i can and cant eat (those waffles sound lovely) , yes we are going dec 07, so any information you can help me with on your return, i would be very grateful, thank you for your replys and help susie

Do you have a favorite (or anyone else for that matter) tower MK view room? I'd guess 11th floor would be best view?

We had 11th floor, but Bay Lake View...so I can't help ya there!

If anyone cares for a great view that way, though, our room number was 4708? or 7408? Crap! I can't remember! I just remember the way to tell your floor number was to add the first two digits together! :rotfl:

No problem, any other questions about special diet needs just pm me. I have lots of information from many years. Any info I get about CR, I will pass on to you. :)

Do the top two floors of the newly renovated garden wing rooms have balconies? Those that have stayed there, would you recommend me requesting a particular floor or area in the garden wing? Can you see the MK or EWP from any of the rooms? Also, anyone hear when construction is going to begin on the 4th floor concourse? Any info. would be greatly appreciated. :wave2:

We will be in a garden wing in late November. Will the north wing be closed by then or is it a possibility that we will get a non-renovated room?

I wish we had the money to stay magic kingdom view! That would be awesome! Maybe oneday!!!!

Steven

I will be at the CR those exact same dates, what are you doing for Thanksgiving dinner?

I was wondering if anyone had any info on the Garden Wing Deluxe Room. What makes it different from a regular garden wing room? Is it worth the extra $$? It will be me, dh, dd and new baby.

We stayed in the renovated South Wing over Labor Da and lony the 1st floor has a patio, the top two floors do not have any balcony or anything. We loved being able to sit out on the patio after the kids were asleep with the sliding door cracked open and have some relazing adult time. No problem with noise at all being on the 1st floor.
Any room that faces the pool you can see the EWP from, not sure of those reoom numbers though, sorry!
Don't know aything about the councourse renovation.

? for those of you that stay club level here. I know the CR and GF share an IPO office. Do you hear back in a timely manner? Do they return phone calls? How are your emails when you hear from them?

Kelly,

I heard back from them quickly every time and found them to be very nice and helpful.

I was checking out this thread as my wife and I are going in two weeks (and got totally SCREWED by Disney reservations!) and are trying to figure out what resort we're going to transfer our reservation to. What is the chocolate monorail that some of the posters referred to?

And if you're wondering what happened to our reservations... we'd booked the DVC members-only cruise and then did 3 days at All-Star Movies. Well, we got a postcard saying that the main pool at ASM was closed. Sooo... we called and tried to change our reservations to the Wilderness Lodge (I just started a new job, so it seemed like a good time to celebrate). The woman we talked to (and we didn't take down her name) told us that it would only be $700 for the concierge level for three days... total. We asked her THREE TIMES to confirm that that was the TOTAL price, and each time she said yes. Well, she checks our online reservation and gee... it seems that we're getting charged $700 PER NIGHT.

And needless to say, they're being absolutely useless about this. So we're looking for something that is not way out of our price range and Contemporary seemed OK. But we're still very angry about the misinformation we were given.

Hi, all. We just re-booked for next December with a Tower MK view room. We had a such a great time last week at the CR, and we're really looking forward to our next trip there.

Also, I sent an email to Deb Wills (Allears.net) about the CR Atrium Club was now full service. She is updating her info and is using my pictures of the club from last week on her website! I'll post a link once she has updated her website.
