I was clicking the "next image" button off the first link of yours and I got to a picture of a "CRV Pool" that looks like it is on the roof of a hotel with the castle in the background, what is that pool and where is it?

I can't find this image either but I do know that there is a hotel at Disneyland with a pool near the roof and it could have the castle in the background. But I don't think any of those hotels have CRV as their abbreviations. I'd love to see the photo.

I think the "CRV pool" is a cut and paste creation from someone who had envisioned this great idea for the possible new CR villas (if they do indeed turn one of the wings into a dvc unit.) I think I remember a thread about this.

Is anyone else just slightly disappointed in the lack of the pretty red pillow and blanket accents that were in the rehabbed model room photos? Maybe not there for the summer? They really added to the look of the room a bit more than the green pillows. I know, such a minor detail  .

Thank you for the clarification. I figured it couldn't be a "real" pool since the castle appeared so close in the background and I've never heard of a pool on the roof of the contemporary. That would be cool though to have a rooftop pool with a view of the castle. What a way to watch fireworks--lounging on a floatie on the roof!

I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything regarding updating the CR pool with some enhancements to make it more "deluxe" since they're doing so much work in general on the CR. I seem to think that the pool was "updated" a few years back into it's current form, but it seems like they could really do a lot more with that whole pool area to go with the new upscale feel of the resort. Any thoughts?

Hi! Just curious...do you think that a lot of people with rooms in the wings request a first floor room to have a patio? I really do NOT want a patio and am wondering if that would be a request that would be likely to be honored. Thanks!

I'm right there with you.. It looks stunning in the model pics, and actually quite plain in the pictures taken by people who have stayed there.

ok, it is now time to get my room rewust together...I'm staying at the CR at the end of this month (OMG! :cool1:  ). I would really like to put get a re-furbished room. Is that all I need to request? We are just staying standard view so any suggestions anyone can give are greatly appreciated. I have never stayed in the CR before.

It is my , DH, DD7 & DD4 so closest to the MK would be great too.

TIA for your help!

The user that posted that is Jade1 and there is no such pool. Looks Photoshopped. The castle is not TAHT close to the Contemporary:) Space Mountain maybe. CRV is Contemporary Resort Villas what she thinks the "Contemporary DVC " will be called:) Like her dolphin pic-looks Photoshopped too.

My DH and I are thinking of staying at the CR this November instead of WL, but neither of us has stayed there before, and I have a question regarding the different rooms and rates.

What is the difference between the standard view, garden view, and garden wing rooms? I would assume standard and garden view rooms are still in the wings, so I guess I'm confused as to the price difference. Also, we'd like a king bed, so is that available in all of these rooms?

And lastly, we'd really like a refurbished room (as I'm sure most would), and I know the south wing is done - any ideas on when the north wing might be finished? We arrive Nov. 16. Thanks!

Now I could be wrong, but based upon what I understand all the rooms in the wings are referred to as Garden Wing, but with differing views:
Std. view
Garden view
King bed
Deluxe

We have a Garden view booked because no Standards were available for next May. My parents are also coming and the only room my mom could reserve for 2 people was a King bed room. Here is a link to Mousesavers pricing for 2007, will probably be slightly more than what you're paying this fall.
http://www.mousesavers.com/roomrates2007.html

I didn't ask about additional details for the King rooms, but I'm guessing if you really want it, you need to book that category as there are no guarantees for a King bed otherwise.

There is talk that the North Wing will not be rehabbed and will instead be converted into a new DVC property. I would just request a rehabbed room and I would think by November that all the rooms in the Tower and South wing would be complete.

I was also wondering what the differences are in the views with the wing rooms. :confused3 This will be our first stay at CR, and we have a standard view room. What will this be, possibly the parking lot or the inner courtyard facing the main building?

To my understanding, standard view will be parking lot. Garden view either looks onto the grounds or pool (and possibly the lake?). I am not sure what the views are for a King or Deluxe room. If I had to guess I would say they look at the grounds/pool or lake because they are more expensive than a standard garden view. Hope that helps a little. If you're really concerned I would call CRO and ask specifically. The info on AllEars didn't address the views for the King or Deluxe rooms.

I really need to get my act together and just make reservations...I'm trying every scenario to see if we can afford the club level (at a monorail resort)

If we book a suite (sleep 6) does that give us access to the concierge lounge at no additional fee...I've been looking at two rooms/concierge level but the suite may be a better deal $$.

I do believe that all suites at all the resorts are concierge.
The ones at CR are concierge and are on the 14th floor.

There are junior suites in the wings that are not concierge.

The concierge for CR (I know they are based at the GF) sent me the following this morning:

The north garden wing is being converted into a DVC resort. As far as
the rumors regarding the Concourse steakhouse and the Food and Fun
Center there has been nothing confirmed. Concourse will undergo
renovations but not until late next year.

This may sound strange--I have a reservation for the atrium club the week of Halloween. But I have been periodically checking availability at the CR and other resorts in case I wanted to change room type or resort.

Well a few weeks ago, the availability at the CR went from many choices to none all of a sudden (although a 2br suite showed up for a while). This was according to the disney web site. The other monorail hotels seem to have plenty available.

Does this mean that it's likely blocked for a convention? Or could it be construction related? Is there any chance that we might be moved?
