A few CR Tower MKV questions for our October stay...

1) What construction should I prepare for during our 10/7 to 10/12 stay at the CR?

2) If the food and fun center is down, where can we get quick snacks?

3) What time does the EWP run for viewing at the CR?

4) Are the MNSSHP dates out yet?

Thanks to those in the know!:thumbsup2

1. The huge fence that covers the demoliton of the North Garden Wing. Also it is rumoured that October will be the month when the Concourse Steakhouse and Food & Fun Center close, so they can switch locations. However as of right now it is just a rumour so it might not happen then.

2. There is the Sand Bar which is located outside by the pool, plus there is always Captin Cooks at the Polynesian and Gasparilla Grill & Games at the Grand Floridian, if your willing to take the Monorail to those locations.

3. I think the EWP starts just after 9:00 PM, however I am not 100% sure about the time.

4. I have no clue so hopefully someone else can answer that for you.

That's interesting. Our DU agent talked to Disney who said they don't discount the room/view. Full price only? Maybe I'll call.

DizzyWorld - The rack rate for those dates would be $500 a night, so it's about a 20% discount.

I have noticed more high-end and "club" rooms available with AP rates and Florida resident rates this year than ever before. In fact, Disney seems to really be pushing club level rooms for Florida residents! Trying to get us spoiled, I think.

We got a AP rate last December (06) tower room MK view for $335 per night. We originally booked for the AKL but when this room opened up 2 days before our trip we jumped at the chance to stay there. The view was incredible and totally worth it!!

It starts at 9:05 p.m. although we seem to be getting it twice a night this week, once at 9:05 outside the South garden wing and then again at 10:05 by the main tower.

They are wrong. We even got the AAA rate last year for the Atrium Club (12th floor Concierge).

Hi everyone - I have never stayed at the Contemporary (3 x's at Fort Wilderness Cabins) - so I was all excited and told my family: "We have a garden wing-garden view room for our next trip - isn't that fantastic??!!!" Of course, they ask: "What does that mean? Will we have a view of the pool or Bay Lake? What floor will we be on? Can we see the castle?" I had no idea but I didn't feel like telling my husband "I have no idea what it means but the CM who booked it and talked me into spending a lot more money than I planned thought we would like it". So I thought I would ask for some answers here - thanks in advance!:) :)

we are staying at CR in September . . . our first time ever and I am sooooo excited!

I have tried to wade my way thru all of these posts and find myself overwhelmed. Can someone please help me with my question?

We are staying in a garden room, not in the Tower. Is there am inside way to enter the tower to get to the monorail or food courts, or wil I need to walk out of my hallway, go outside, and then walk up to a Tower entrance?

Hope that makes sense. We stayed at the Poly once during a week of bad weather, and as some of you know, we had to trek out to the main building to get fod every morning. didnt bother me much (heck, i was at disneyworld!) but DH grumbled.

We are plaaning a trip in 6/08 amnd trying to decide to use or DVC points for a week long stay at the CR or the new villas in the Animal Kingdom.

I like the idea of the monorail at the hotel and heck the Contemporary is, in my opinion, Disney's hallmark hotel.

On the other hand my two DDs will be 3 and 7 and I know they would a savanna view at the AKL. The downside to staying here would be taking a bus with a stroller.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Our first ever stay at the CR was last Sept in the South Garden Wing. Loved it! You do have to exit the wing bldg to go to the Tower, but there's a covered walkway the whole way. Rain's not so much a problem as temps, but it's a short walk from bldg to bldg.

They most definately discount the view. I have a tower room MK view booked in September for $237 a night.

AAA rates go fast for CR.

AP rates aren't always offered either (late last June for ex)

go to allears for last years mnsshp dates, will give you an idea; we were able to attend the week after Columbus Day last years (great experience).:thumbsup2

Where or with what discount did you get that for so cheap? We stayed there last December during value season same room cat with the AP rate we paid $335 per night. I feel terribly robbed now, LOL. Just kidding but would LOVE to stay at a rate like that!!!

This post is in reply to the $237 a night! MDBEHR

I got the 40% off during value season. :cool1:

Me too! We're going Sept 22-29 with the 40% off. 2A/3C, dining plan, 7 day base tickets, CR Tower MK View room for a total of $3600!!! Can't wait!
