I am also interested in knowing what is available at the temporary F&FC for breakfast.(I'd be happy with a doughnut or muffin LOL) Also do you think if we get the other mugs (million dreams) we can use them there? I don't like that fat mugs, and I really love the new million dreams mug. I thought about ordering a basket for my kids, and having those added to it.

I am happy to hear that they still have the mugs, and sodas, that was my biggest worry!!

I felt the exact same way about the mugs. I really prefer the slimmer ones. We were at the Poly for dinner one night and bought a YOMD mug there and asked at the CR if we could fill it and they looked at us like we had 4 heads and said 'no, you can only use the CR mugs here.' It made me feel like those people who break the rules and I felt bad for asking. I'd ask, though, you might get a different answer :thumbsup2

For those of you who asked about breakfast:

This is the menu listed online

Breakfast Platter - scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage $5.59
Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Croissant $5.59
Biscuits and Gravy $3.39
Adult Pancake Platter with bacon or sausage $4.99
Child Pancake Platter with bacon or sausage $3.99
Bacon $1.89
Sausage $1.89
Scrambled Eggs $2.59
Breakfast Potatoes $2.39
Kellogg's Cereal with milk $2.99

I think that seems to still be pretty accurate. We only went to the F&FC once for breakfast and it was after being up at 3:40am to go do a photo shoot at the MK, so I was a little dilerious! ;) I'm not sure they had the biscuits and gravy or the bacon/egg/cheese croissant because those are 2 of my DH's favorites and he didn't get them, but I'm not positive, sorry!

As for the Atrium Club, we had HORRIBLE service at the front desk (which I mentioned already) and they 'messed up' our reservation. We were booked for concierge level, and when we checked in for that night, the girl said it wasn't showing up that way. She said there's no way a comp night would be put in the concierge level. I said that was accurate and she laughed at me and wouldn't check on it  I was so upset! Not only were we no longer in concierge, we were moved from MK view to BL view too! I emailed our wedding coordinator immediately, and we're still in the process of finding out what happened. Sorry I can't share any info. Maybe we'll get another chance to stay there again.

Thanks SO MUCH for the wedding wishes and compliments too :goodvibes You're all so sweet!!!

minnieandmickeymouse: Do you have the Disney floral website where you can order the welcome baskets? Let me know, and I can send you the info. They can definitely add whatever you want (for a price ;) ) I had welcome baskets sent to my family when they arrived for the wedding and we picked and chose different things from different baskets and kind of made our own. I'm sure they could add the mugs :thumbsup2

I took a bunch of pictures of our room, some of our guests' rooms, and the second room in the tower we had too if anyone wants me to post them :)

Yes! Post 'em!! Would love to see the pictures of the rooms. Also congrats on getting married!!:cheer2:

I'm still not sure who I will order the baskets from yet, or if I will at all. If we can't fill the YOMD mugs there, I won't bother. We'll just get the CR one's. Or I will get the YOMD mugs and just not ask. It's not like I'm bringing back an old mug:lmao:

Let me start by saying that this wasn't our first room. There are a few rooms in the garden wing which face the side of the rest of the building and your view is a giant yellow brick wall!! It was pretty bad, so we asked to be moved (it was our wedding/honeymoon for goodness sakes and out of all the rooms in the entire wing that's what they gave us,) but they wouldn't move anyone else from our wedding party :( Those room numbers are the rooms numbered 6_01, 6_02, 6_30, and 6_29. The blank space is for the floor number, so first floor is 6101, second floor is 6201, etc...

Ok, here are the pics from our first garden room (5335)

The toilet area is to the right with another sliding shoji screen to divide it. The mirrors were really cool, they had a separate make-up light in them too!

The top floors don't have balconies, but they still have sliding doors. There is a railing, so you can stand at your door, open it, and lean on the railing. You still get the idea of 'being outside' without the balcony.

The view from my Grandma's garden room (5310) (the date in the pics is off, sorry!) The room itself was basically laid out the same and had the same decor. It was also quite a bit closer to the tower than ours.

The pics from our second room in the tower on the bay side (4724)

Our 'lovely' view to the left. (It was actually pretty loud during the day, but we weren't in our room that much in the afternoons. It 'might' be a problem for nappers, especially on a lower floor.)

Our nicer view to the right

A picture of the balcony (for those that don't already know, they're tiered, so you can see and hear the floor below you and the people above you can see and hear you!)
e870fef3.jpg

The only real difference between this room and the garden room was that the bedspreads in the tower room were white and in the garden room they were more khaki. The bathroom felt 'slightly' smaller too (maybe because of the balcony?) but I'm pretty sure it was just my imagination.
e870feac.jpg

If we walked out of our room and up to the railing along the hallway, this was our view down and to the left
e870f0d3.jpg

and this was our view to the right (I zoomed my camera, it doesn't really look that close ;) ) Also keep in mind that there are those bars on the big window that you have to look through.

Directly to the right of our room (when walking out of it) was the outside stairwell. We popped out one afternoon (and held the door because there's no re-entry once it closes) and took these pictures from there.

Thanks for posting all the great pictures!

Were you paying for a standard or garden view? I've made reservations for a std view and have been joking that we'll get to view the trashcans. Maybe I should change that to brick wall!

I'm planning to book the lowest priced room I can get at the Contemporary, so apparently I won't be in the Tower.

Is it possible/(a good idea) to ask for the wing room closest to the tower? I'm thinking 3 tired kids after a long day. Or am I getting carried away in details that don't matter?

You're welcome! Yep, change your quote to 'brick wall' haha! I never even knew there were standard view and garden view room options because it was all booked through our wedding. However, I think that's quite silly because (for the MOST part) all the views are the same. Yes, some have slight views of the parking lot, and in some you can see water, but other than the brick wall, they are all very similar (at least from the 6 I was in.)

You can request it (that's what we did, knowing we'd be in wedding attire a lot,) but many of the closer rooms are accessible rooms and suites, so it's likely they won't give it to you. It's really not 'that' bad of a walk compared to staying at values and moderates. It's just all the hallways that mix you up and the distance to get to the elevators.

I've watched the fireworks from that stairwell. It's a very nice view.
It was a great view. We thought about watching Wishes from there one night, but didn't know if we were 'allowed' to be out there or not :)

We weren't sure either....but the door was actually LEFT open (propped by something that looked like an "official" doorstop, no less) and no one was out there. So we stepped out and figured if a cast member came by and asked us to leave, or needed to close the door, we'd head back in and tell them it was open when we arrived (which it was).

Through our entire trip, I saw that door open around the time of wishes 3 of the 7 nights. Maybe it's a regular "thing"...maybe some "ingenious" guest was using the stairwell to get to a higher floor to watch...I don't know. But it worked out well for us.

Incidently, I think we were on the same floor as you when we stayed there (Jan of '06)...our room was just a bit more toward the pool (we were DEAD center looking out over the dock/mickey statue/etc).

I am wondering the same thing. Do all standard view garden rooms have a crummy view? Should we book the garden view instead?

:surfweb:
I just read in a tour guide book that all garden wing rooms ending with 52-70 have a parking lot view. Is this the standard and the other sides are garden?

4 of the rooms in our wedding block were between these numbers and I was in 3 of the 4 rooms. There were so many trees outside the windows that you couldn't really tell the parking lot was there. I mean, you could see it, but it wasn't like our lovely construction view where it was something you couldn't miss. What is the cost difference?

The rate difference is listed as $46. Still waiting for the 2008 rates. If the main focus of the view isn't a brick wall, garbage can or the bumper of someones car, I think the standard view will be fine. I am sure Disney will get our money on something else!$! Thanks for the info & congrats on your marriage! What a great place to start your life together!

Since the temporary location has not opened yet no one knows if we will able to use the mugs there. I have a feeling it will be just like when the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge counter service locations were closed, so that means the mugs would not be used at the temporary location.

However back in January 2000 when the Food & Fun Center was closed for a minor renovation the mugs were being sold at the Contemporary Sand Bar, so let's hope they do that again. Before you think that will happen remember just because that happened once, does not mean it will happen again. My family and I will be checking into the Contemporary on August 7 so once we are settled in and everything, I will post whatever information I can about the temporary counter service location and etc.

more to come

This suite was huge! It was at the end furthest from MK so we had to look out sideways for castle but no complaints. Three balconies, two off living area had a wall that you could walk around and third off bedroom. The 14th floor staff was fantastic too! I will post more of the lounge in a while. for now here are more of the suite.
