Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

Sure would be nice if there was a BOAT here to take get to WL for a yummy dinner at Geyser Point on this lovely evening. 😡

I am usually one to roll with Disney changes but this one annoys me to no end.

Well I was going to come on this thread to ask if anyone heard any rumors of the boat transportation resuming at Contemporary...so this post was a big disappointment, though it does seem to answer my question. Not only are the docks still closed off, but now all signage is removed too. Definitely a big disappointment. So many times I used those boats from Contemporary to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge, and vice-versa. It really reduces the pleasure of booking meals at those other resorts when you know you'd have to take a bus and walk, or a bus then another bus, just to get between them. When all you had to do was walk down to the dock and enjoy a peaceful and beautiful boat ride, it made bar and restaurant sharing a pleasure.

I'll be at Boulder Ridge in June, and certainly would have loved to pop on the boat over to Steakhouse 71 or the BLT Top of the World lounge. But hopping a bus to MK and walking over doesn't sound nearly as enticing!

And to be honest, the majority of guests up there on any given night are from other resorts.
Not to mention those of us, who aren't DVC owners at all, staying at BLT on rented points and sneaking up there! 😜😂 (Don't worry, that was 7 years ago. I personally wasn't responsible for ruining your recent visit. :) )

Does anybody know if the Cafe had villain treats on 2/13/22 for Villaintine's Day? Based on the Disney Food Blog and Google searches, I don't think they did. The girlfriend and I are villains fans, and holding out hope for Villaintine's Day offerings this year, aside from the recent digital stuff.

Ok all you CR experts…. Is this a lamp? And if it is, how in the heck does it turn on???? 😂. We asked the bellman who brought our luggage up. He had no clue, thought it was just decor until we pointed out it is plugged in. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Thanks!!! 😊

Is that not an in-line switch in the cord near the wall outlet? (Hard to tell, but it looks like there’s a bulge in the cord…)

Yes, definitely a lamp. Check that little gold button on the side right below the white ball part. I’m can’t remember exactly if it was just as touch or an actual switch.

We thought that too & so did the bellman, it’s just like a connector, nothing to switch there

I pushed straight in, tried to see if it toggles up or down. Bellman tried to push it too. Nothing. I tried every switch in the room to see if any of them would turn it on. Nothing

That “button” on the right side is what you touch. Hard to see in the video but that’s what he’s reaching behind to touch. Should toggle between 2-3 brightness levels.

@focusondisney - my guess is either that button is damaged, something is wrong with the power outlet, or the bulb is possibly burnt out.

Oh gosh, I wish I could remember how I got it on. I do remember turning it on (unless I’m Disney dreaming), but can’t remember how.

Yes, I remember there being a couple of brightness levels. Maybe the lamp or the outlet is broken.
