This is a great post pictures and all
The standard view rooms either overlook the south parking lot or have an obstructed view. You might luck out and be assigned a garden view. You could request a 1st floor room so you would have a patio. The 2nd and 3rd floor rooms do not have balconies. None of the garden wing rooms would have a view of the fireworks. You'd need to upgrade to a tower theme park view room in order to view the fireworks from your room.
A parking lot view = a monorail View![]()
The bolded part is pretty much my wife and I, too. Well, maybe not the "starting the day early" since my wife likes to sleep in on vacation. But, we typically spend at least a portion of most days, quite often at night, at Magic Kingdom. This is exactly why I don't envision us staying anywhere else. The convenience of a short walk to the park at which we spend probably 50% of our time has us spoiled.Thank you! There's a lot I do like about BW, but the more I thought about how we'd likely spend our time (most likely starting the day early and ending our evenings at MK), along with a couple of other factors, everything points to staying at CR. Plus, we're always a monorail ride and a short walk to the BW area if we want to explore during some down time!![]()

This is the view from my standard first floor room...first photo is looking left out the window second is looking right.Thank you! I wanted to ask to be sure. However, if we can see the monorail from the standard view room, it may actually be better for my husband. I’ll just have to live with it.
Okay, I didn’t know that! My husband wanted to stay at CR because the monorail runs through it. He’s an engineer and that’s just so neat to him. He’ll be so happy if he can see it in the distance. Thank you!

This is from MDE for a reservation that I have at The Contemporary, in the tower, facing the lake. If your reservation says Disney's Contemporary Resort - you are in the hotel. If it says Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort - you are in the timeshare place.
Oh my gosh, thank you so much, that is exactly what my reservation looks like! Looks like I'm in the main tower, facing the lake. That's exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you so much for your help. I'm even more excited now!
FWIW, in my humble opinion, a Bay Lake view is the best view of all! I’d actually rather book this side than the Theme Park View side. Have fun!

Fortunately Disney has something for everyone. I love the idea of seeing fireworks from our balcony with the music from our TVFWIW, in my humble opinion, a Bay Lake view is the best view of all! I’d actually rather book this side than the Theme Park View side. Have fun!

I always enjoy your pics, and this is a view we almost and one I would've been quite happy with -- but I admit there's just something about falling asleep and waking up and looking out at the castle that gets me everytime.

Funny enough, my own booking habits contradict what I said above. Of my four CR stays, three have been TPV, only one Bay Lake.
My head always says one thing but then end up booking another!
What is the earliest anyone has seen Christmas decorations go up at the Contemporary?
The deluxes are decorated via a lottery system each year, so just depends what order they pull this year. But they will all be done by the weekend after Thanksgiving. What is the earliest anyone has seen Christmas decorations go up at the Contemporary?
