Is there a public place to view the Electrical Water Parade? We are in the Tower and have asked for a TPV, so I hope there is an open area on the Bay side to see this.

I assume you mean you booked a TPV room? You either book a TPV or Bay Lake View room in the Tower, it's not a request. Sorry if that's what you mean in your post.

If you have a TPV room, your best bet to watch the EWP is from the boat dock / beach area. It comes by CR at 10:15PM. I guess you could maybe watch from the BLT bridge, but not sure how good that view from there would be (I have not done this to know if possible).

Sorry if this was already discussed. Does anyone know if the layout of rooms is different for patio rooms in the garden wing vs upper floors?

Thanks for the info and for the clarification. It's been a while since I looked at my reservation, so I forgot which parts of my reservation were bookable (if that's a word), and which parts were request.

For anyone who is wondering, I booked a theme park view, as GaDisneyDad suspected, and requested an odd number room on the the north end of the bldg. Odd number, so we could see the fireworks from bed, north end so we would be further away from Chef Mickey and closer to the MK.

Oh thank you! We are all excited. It will be our first time in CL so we are thrilled and our first time at the Contemporary.

Well should be fun. I was just at CR last week. Here's a nice pic of your view from the CL lounge! (This is technically from the Tower Club balcony, but the Atrium Club view is the same, just a floor down). :-)

I don't think the interior is different. Of course it depends on the type of room because from my understating there are a few categories of rooms but the main difference between the first floor and upper floors is that there is a patio on the first and there are Juliette (faux) balconies on the floors above.

My friends and I are interested in staying at a two-bedroom villa without a DVC reservation or points.

What is the likelihood of one of these rooms being available to book?

This is for a 2018 trip, and I'm wondering If I should look at booking room only, or if I might still have a chance when packages are released sometime in June.

You probably won't be able to book any DVC resort before DVC members can book them. So plan on later on in the fall for a 2018 summer reservation.

Just a FYI I was on the phone with Disney Spa and it seems they have discontinued service at Olympiad. I guess they feel Senses is close enough? I was trying to work something out for my husband and I for our anniversary but we have a toddler with us so it's not so easy, we have to swap. Staying at the resort for the massage is easier. Oh well....

When you order dinner from in room dining do they set up a table for you to eat at CR. I didn't notice a table to eat at, just a desk?

Also do you know if they can bring up a high chair? We usually stay at DVC so they always have one in the room but I can't remember if they have them in the closets or if you can call down?

Yes they do we were there last month and enjoyed room service our first night. What a treat there is a table on wheels that can be slid out and put in front of the sofa or where ever you'd like. They bring everything and set it up for you. DD and I really enjoyed our meal and being spoiled ;)
Not sure about the high chair.

Hi Everyone,

We have decided to switch to the Contemporary for our May trip - May 6-13. I am very very very excited to be staying here as I have wanted to since I was 13 years old! We will be in the Garden Wing but I am just so thrilled for my second deluxe stay, on the monorail, and at my dream resort! Looking forward reading this thread in the meantime.

Thanks!

Congratulations on booking, @WDWFan06 and I'll add your dates:)

Add us to the list of people going, please! We'll be staying in the Garden Wing 5/30-6/3. I'm kicking myself, though, because I didn't realize we were all off on 5/29 for Memorial Day - we could have gone a day earlier!
It'll be my first trip to WDW (had APs to DL when we were west-coasters). DH has been twice. We are bringing DD, who will be 18 months old then, so we're extra excited to be at a monorail resort. We're also meeting up with family who live out west and are coming to celebrate a college graduation - hooray!

I'll log your dates, @FredtheDuck

We just returned from 10 glorious days at the CR. We were in a standard view garden wing room 5161. Our view was the parking lot and the monorail which was fine because we were only in our room in the evenings with the curtains drawn. The room was identical to our previous stays in the tower. I forgot how comfortable those beds are :cloud9:
Bus transportation was great except for twice getting picked up at DS we waited almost an hour each time
Loved being able to walk to MK and monorail service was good.
We enjoyed room service our first night and that was a real treat. Food was good as well as the service. Had a few meals at Contemporary Cafe also good. Housekeeping was good we did tip every day.
We really enjoyed having so many terrific places to dine only a monorail ride away.
We dined at Citricos twice and now has become our new favorite restaurant.
Were hoping to stay here next March for DD's spring break.
Be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for reporting about your stay, @wdwnut61 :)

Can you please add us to the list of lucky people - my sister and I are staying two nights 4/16-18/17 in a Tower Bay View room! I am over the moon!

We're changing resorts on the 18th and meeting up with a third sister at the YC. We had planned the YC part last fall, then two of us decided to add a day at WL, then switched it to CR, then added a 2nd night! No more changes - we are set!

I stayed at the CR in the 70s when I was 9 years old (I'm dating myself)! - I cannot wait to stay there again! I've been lurking on this thread for a while, I look forward to reading as much as I can in the next three weeks! Thanks! :Pinkbounc

Of course I'll add you to the Lucky People list, @TheFloatingBear.

Hi everyone!
We'll be at the contemporary tower in a theme park room 9/19-9/26 for our first trip with kids. They'll be two and four. I booked it for the convenience, but I'm still a little nervous. Especially with the new security measures.

How long does it take by bus to get to HS? AK? Disney springs? What about getting back? Specifically getting back from Disney springs after dinner?

How long to Epcot? Do we have to go through security twice now?

Well now have to go through security to and from dinner at 1900 Park fare?

Congratulations on booking and I'll log your dates, @Daniela Rose.

Could we be added to the log-o-rail? We will be in the garden wing 12/13-12/17.

Of course you can be added, @JackOfHearts :)

Just booked Atrium TPV Club Level July 24th..Always wanted to stay at CR..Can't Wait.

Congratulations!

Would you add us to the log? July 24-Aug 3. CR Atrium TPV

Consider yourself added, @morrismhs.

I know this gets asked a lot so wanted to share the current pool hours as of the the first week of April. Obviously hours can change seasonally, but this was as of last week... FWIW....

Great information, as usual, @GADisneyDad14:)

Sorry if this was already discussed. Does anyone know if the layout of rooms is different for patio rooms in the garden wing vs upper floors?

All the Garden Wing and Tower standard room layouts are identical.

Could you please add me to the log? Will be in the atrium club level 11/26-12/6. Thank you!

Yippee and you're welcome, @SleepingRebecca.

Thanks for posting your great panoramic, @GADisneyDad14.

Can you add us to the log-o-rail? We will be in Tower CL 9/17-9/23/17 for our 10 year anniversary

What a great place to celebrate, @qbmillar:)

Thank you for posting that The Olympiad no longer offers massages. I'll update the first page with your information, @pixie08.

Thought my fellow CR/BLT fans would love this little blast from the past...pic is from mid 1980's with a T38 from Columbus AFB. DH cannot confirm or deny if he knows who this is.....

That's a fantastic photo of the little trainer "strafing" CR. Hard to believe they are still in service. Thank you so much for posting that gem. Did they land at the STOLport next door?!

Here's another retro photo I love:

When I do the online check-in and get the notification on my phone that my room is ready, will I be able to verify that the room has two queen beds instead of a single king and that it's the right room type/location?
