Today is our online check-in day and we have a Deluxe Garden View Room reserved.

Which would be the best to choose from for our requests (or most applicable?)
  • Balcony
  • Upper Floor
  • Ground Floor
  • Lower Floor
  • Near Elevator
  • Odd Room Number
  • Near Transportation
  • Patio

We want the top floor of the garden wing deluxe room. We know there are only three of these, so I'm thinking just choosing UPPER FLOOR only? :confused3

Crossing fingers for NO pixie dust. We don't want to get bumped up to club level because there's four of us and that room is TINY.

If they try to give you pixie dust for a CL room, ask they to hold it for me! I arrive 12/14! Thanks! :goodvibes

You're adorable! :) Normally I wouldn't frown on a club upgrade but we wanted the bigger room for the quantity of people. I know there's only three of the garden wing deluxe rooms on the entire property and it's possible there's more than 3 guests with a room reservation. Oh well.

Welcome to Bay Lake! Yes, you can open the sliding glass doors on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the GW. The GV/GW rooms that directly front Bay Lake can have a partial view of the EWP. The GV/GW rooms that directly front the canal have a view of the boats going back and forth to the MK.

Thanks so much for answering!
Can you add us to the log on the first page? We are so excited, last week we booked our first trip to the Contemporary Resort - Tower - Bay Lake View 4/23/16-4/29/16! This will be our first stay at a monorail resort :)
Now to make dining reservations tomorrow morning!

First let me say that I read everything Kook has posted on the first page and cannot find the information I need, so please let me know if I missed it somewhere! I taught all weekend to make up for my missed classes while we are at WDW and have completely lost track of time and possibly a few brain cells! o_O

I just shipped a package full of my husband's liquid nutrition (prescription-strength, kind of like specialized cans of baby formula) to be held for our arrival on Sunday. In my head I thought it was Tuesday today and wanted to ensure that it arrived by Friday so that it will be there when we arrive. Imagine my surprise when the UPS man told me it would be there on Wednesday!!

Does anyone know how strictly they adhere to the 3-day hold policy? And, that being said, does anyone know a direct number or email address I can use to contact someone to make certain that this package is not discarded? It is my husband's only means of getting nutrition, so it is vital that it be there when we are. We carry two days of it with us, but we are going to be at WDW for 12 days!

Thanks in advance for any information y'all might have or assurances that they won't throw it away!! :sad2:

Dansdad answered your question, but I just wanted to say I hope you have a great trip! :wizard:

So excited that we will be checking in on Friday!!! :yay:

Have a great trip! :cool1::cool1:

I would choose just "upper floor" as you mentioned :).

Congrats on booking your first CR stay! Good luck with your ADRs :wizard:.

We're leaving Monday! Won't actually be there until Thursday, but it's still vacation! I hope to remember to take LOTS of pictures for Kook to add to this awesome thread.

Thank you kook for your reply. We just had a nice stay in a bay lake view club level room on the 12th floor. I wanted to just mention a few of the food items in the club lounge as I have not seen them posted. Firstly, for breakfast they put out deviled eggs and rolled up turkey and ham, sliced cheese and also salmon. I was thinking breakfast here would not have much protein. Secondly, Friday night they offered lamb and a pumpkin bisque soup and last night they had French onion soup, beef tenderloin kebabs with chimachuri sauce, single piece of watermelon with feta. Also all the other items that club level usually has. Lastly the chicken nuggets were a big hit with the kiddos.

They've recently changed/improved many of the CL selections throughout WDW. This new menu sounds wonderful. Did you take any photos?

So we are probably crazy, considering we'll be at CR Tower Club exactly a week from today (!!!!!), but can you add us to the logorail for CR Tower Club for 5/17-5/22 as well? We just booked a celebration trip for my husband's graduation!! :)

Hope you're having a magical stay and I'll add you to the log:)

We have one of the King rooms booked for both stays. It's only my husband and I, so we wouldn't know what to do with all the room in a suite if we had one! The King rooms are theme park view. The balconies and the quiet Tower Club lounge are well worth booking the 14th floor!
::yes::

So excited that we will be checking in on Friday!!! :yay:

We're at BLT (1bd, lake view), and the only room requests we made were a higher floor and an actual view of the lake. We'll see what we get.

Our plane is supposed to land at 4:40pm, and we have a reservation at Kona at 7pm, so keep your fingers crossed. Based on past experience, I know that will be tight, especially because we will most likely have to use the monorail, but we couldn't get a reservation at a better time.

Did you make the ADR? Hope you're having a great vacation:)

Unfortunately, OCI room location options are generic. They are usually a list of the most popular requests and may not even be applicable to your booking. In your case, I would have "3rd floor" added to your reservation by calling the WDTC/CRO. If you want to check an OCI box off, I would check "Upper Floor," but I would definitely have "3rd floor" added to my reservation.

Did you make the ADR? Hope you're having a great vacation!

We ended up switching it to an 8:05 ADR at The Wave, and Kona is tonight instead. Glad we changed because we were the last stop on the ME route and didn't get to our room until almost 7.

We are in room 8442 on the 14th floor of BLT. Amazing view of the lake and Epcot. Exactly what we wanted. The only problem is that we can't use our balcony much because it is completely overrun by mosquitoes at night...I mean 1000s of them. I unknowingly opened the door for a moment last night and had to kill about a dozen that flew into the living room.

Other than that, fantastic room!

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to post that I booked 2 trips last week!:yay: I will be coming for a mother/son only trip January 17th and staying at the Contemporary. This will be a first trip at this resort and I am so excited! We are staying CL with a TPV.:) I can't wait to surprise my 13 year old.

Then we are coming to BWI as a family for spring break! I look forward to taking in all the CR knowledge over the next 2 months!

A family member is at CR tower now and she said that hundreds (?) of buzzards have been camping out on the balconies facing the lake.

Oh yes, there are tons of buzzards circling that tower every day. Thankfully not so much at BLT.

Lucky for us, the mosquitoes disappeared yesterday, so we got to enjoy our balcony a bit.

Hello CR friends! Gearing up for our first CR stay in a few weeks (we've previously stayed GF). Would anyone happen to know how much a case of water bottles and a gallon of water costs at the CR store? I am trying to figure out if it's worth it to have water shipped from Amazon to the resort or if I should just bite the bullet and buy a case or some jugs there.

Also, we're staying Garden view, Garden wing. How many minutes longer the walk to MK is from the garden wing than from the tower? I'm a fast walker, but I have two kids with me.

Lastly, and this is not important at all, but I'm curious if the deluxe resorts still have the same little H2O shampoos and whatnots they have had the last few years. I loved them and every day our mousekeeper would leave new ones, even if we didn't need them. By the time we checked out, I had a dozen little shampoos and soaps to take home and we'd use them all year--the scent always reminded me of our beloved resort! I thought I read a few months ago that there was a switch to a different kind of product or sized bottle.
Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone. I've been booked for a four night CR TPV stay in April for a few months. Last week I received a 30% off PIN for "select Disney Deluxe" resorts, and called WDW this morning to see if I could apply the 30% discount to my existing reservation.

The CM I spoke with was very nice and helpful but told me that the only available CR rooms I could apply the discount to were Atrium Club Level rooms. I was told that a discounted TPV Atrium Club room would cost me $144 more (total) than my existing room and around $800 less than the Atrium Club rack rate. I could have lowered my total cost a little by opting for a BLV Atrium room or a lot by going with another Disney Resort, but my affinity for the CR and watching Wishes from my own room convinced me to go with the TPV Atrium Club room. I figured for $144 more this was still a win.

While I've stayed at the CR around 20 times, I've never stayed in an Atrium Club room. To those who have, can you share your thoughts and whether you have any tips on how you usually make the most of it? Anything you could share would be appreciated. Thanks!

Congrats on the discount! I can't offer any suggestions/tips for staying CR CL as we've never stayed there, but wanted to say I hope you enjoy your stay. We've stayed CL at other resorts and it is nice having the lounge and snacks/drinks throughout the day. We are hoping to try CR CL next year as I have read nothing but great things about it. I hope you will report back after your trip :goodvibes.

Thanks Nut! Yes, we're looking forward to trying the CL experience as well. The photos I've seen of the snacks/drinks that appear at various times during the day look awesome. I'll definitely provide a full report when we get back - no problem. :thumbsup2

I'm currently booked with the DDP and am now seriously considering eliminating it with our change to a CL room. We'll likely have some breakfast in the lounge every morning and tons of snacks and drinks (especially the adult version) after our days in the parks. Knowing part of the cost was going towards snacks and desserts we either didn't use or didn't need always made me question the value of the DDP in the past. However, we have historically opted in due to the convenience factor. I'm now thinking I can probably do better than the DDP paying for meals OOP and taking full advantage of the CL snacks and drinks every day.

Are you there yet?! Hope you had an easy trip.

The walk from the GW to the MK is only about 5 minutes more. And, yes, they still have the H2O Grapefruit toiletries.

They sell Dasani and water in gallon jugs, but the prices aren't marked, so I don't know how much they cost.

We've stayed with a Bay Lake View on the 12th floor. It's our favorite view and you can watch Wishes from the lounge. If you want to make the most of staying CL, I would suggest planning on eating in the lounge between 5-7 when the appetizers are offered. They are tasty and filling and we like to do that and instead eat our biggest meal as a late lunch.

Hi KOOK :wave2:......hope things are going well with you :flower3:.

How are you doing? Senior year is moving along fast - the first quarter ends this week. DD applied Early Decision so it's good to be finished with that. Made our Christmas reservations, but it's not at WDW so I don't want to go too OT, but do you have any holiday plans?
