I am enjoying them :goodvibes.

I second this :thumbsup2. KOOK is a wealth of information and is a great thread moderator ::yes::.

You're such a good sport and always so kind, @mickeynut1. I'm behind in my updating of the thread chapters (and posting here:flower3:), I'm only on Post 6. But, I did find where I already posted some of the newer spring break photos I want to add to the chapters, so now I can just drag them in from there instead of posting so much randomness here.

Hello

Can I be added to the vacation log, we are now staying at the contemporary due to construction at the Wilderness lodge. We will be there 28th Oct 2015 - Nov 8th 2015 staying in Garden Wing - Garden View room.

I have a few questions if anyone can help :)

1. Is there a boat from the contemporary to MK?
2. Where can you refill mugs at the contemporary
3. The walk way between MK and Contemporary, Is this lit up? at night.
4. Can anyone staying at the resort go on the wishes viewing platform or is this just for those in the resturant?

I am sure I will have plenty more questions soon.

Of course you can be added and welcome! Yes, the walkway is lit and that's a good question since the walkway from/to FW and WL isn't lit.

Welcome! I haven't stayed at CR yet, I can tell you that you walk CR to MK. No need for any kind of transport since the walk is very short. There is no boat unless you boat to WL or FW and over to MK. You could monorail, but it goes around the long way and makes stops.

Refill your mug at Contempo Cafe.

There is a Wishes viewing balcony on the 4th floor. The one at California Grill is for dining guests only.

I love WL and am looking forward to our stay at CR too!

You've done your homework:)

I'm a WL refugee as well. ;) Definitely go back and check out the first few pages. The information is kept up to date by the wonderful KOOK of the WL thread fame, so you should find most of your answers there. Plus it will get you excited for the Contemporary. I know I needed a boost of confidence that I was doing the right thing and that I would be happy.

We love resort refugees - welcome to all Resort Changers! I do love WL, but I really love CR. That walkway to the MK is the bees knees, the rooms are modern-looking and large and the Tower views are the best on-property, IMHO.

We requested a ground floor/patio so we could have outdoor space. I also asked for a water view, and ended up with partial views of both the pool and the lagoon. Canal views are beautiful too.

Hope I don't sound too nit-picky, but sometimes a water view is interpreted by CMs as a pool view so at CR, I would recommend requesting a Bay Lake or canal view if you want to see un-chlorinated water.

I upgraded to theme park view for my dates with an amazing deal from cheaptickets!:cloud9:

YAY! That's great:)

Add us to the list after switching our dates and resorts 4 times so far we have settled on 10/24-10/31. Booked a room in the wing. Am I going to love it? How far is the walk from the wing to transportation and to get coffee in the morning? We are using magical express as well. I know the routes change often but what resorts usually share.

Do you remember what day of the week the crab cakes were out? And thanks for posting the photos! We're booked in the same room type Dec 12- 16 (Saturday- Wednesday) & I loooove crab cakes. Hope they have them one of the days we're there!

Kook,
Just learning from the masters! Between you and Dee at the BC thread, I've learned a ton! Thank you for all the work you put into the threads you manage!
Mary

I missed multi-quoting some posts earlier - my apologies.

Thanks WDWKOOK. I saw those but also pulled up pics that showed more earthy tones with a brown/beige square over the headboards so I wasn't sure which was current. The Club Tower room pics posted above seem to be different with lighter wood tones and linens? They sure are beautiful!

You're welcome:). Those photos would have been pre-rehab and yes, the Tower Club rooms do have a completely different decor.

Thanks so much for posting so many great Tower Club photos, @IceSkatingPrincess. They're going to look great in the CL chapter and we REALLY needed lounge photos - thank you again!

Hello! Another WL transfer checking in here. Staying in the Garden wing 12/27 - 1/3. Contemplating my room placement request. Is Bay View or Canal View better?

I'm sorry I missed welcoming you earlier…:welcome: to the CR/BLT thread and I'll log your dates in POST 2. I would request the Bay Lake View, only because if you do get it, it's unobstructed. We once had a canal view, but we didn't have a room at the end so we were in a "recessed" room with an obstructed view. I have photos in the ROOM chapter of that GW room view and our GW room that fronted BL.

Add us to the list after switching our dates and resorts 4 times so far we have settled on 10/24-10/31. Booked a room in the wing. Am I going to love it? How far is the walk from the wing to transportation and to get coffee in the morning?
Fourth time's a charm;). The GW only adds a few minutes more to your "commute" to the Tower. We prefer being in the Tower (BLV), primarily because of the view and height and we love walking out of our room and seeing the MK and the concourse below. But, the rooms are identical in the GW and you do save money.

You're very welcome, Mary and I appreciate your kind comment.

Upgraded my next stay from a moderate resort (I love CBR and had planned on checking out the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans - Riverside) to deluxe - headed to the Contemporary! DH is getting burned out on Disney trips and wants to go elsewhere for our next few vacations (SADNESS), so he approved the splurge on this trip. Staying in the Tower, BLV, 9/23-9/29 - celebrating our anniversary and my impending grad school completion this fall!

I've been going through the pages, but I haven't read them all. Forgive me if this has been asked and answered before: is there any way in advance to request a king bed room over the two queens? Or are we at the mercy of the check-in gods? Thanks in advance.

We are 23 days away from our first stay at the Contemporary! Woohoo! Has anyone tried the waterskiing, tubing or parasailing? What about alligators? We want a fun - no park day. We never stay at our resort and thought we might do that, or head over the Fort Wilderness to explore, or both! :) Any suggestions/advice/reviews? TIA

Don't worry about being behind, you do so much here and on other threads :flower3:. I commend you on all that you do as I know it's a lot of work to keep everything going (not to mention you do it for more than 1 thread), you are doing a great job!! :wizard:

Congrats on upgrading to the CR, what a great way to celebrate your anniversary! Have a great trip :goodvibes.

We have done the little mouse boats from the Poly and we had a blast! They are a lot of fun and are a great way to spend an afternoon :boat:.

We scheduled parasailing for our Dec trip. Our first time!

Hello everyone,
We are a few days away from our stay at BLT!! We are flying and are trying to keep the weight in our luggage down. Could anyone tell me if Fantasia Market sells lactose free milk? I can't tell by looking at the pictures at the start of the thread.

TIA

We have not stayed at CR/BLT but every other WDW resort we have stayed has had Lactose Free Milk for sale. So I would say your odds are pretty good.

Yes - Disney usually sells lactose free milk. However, to be sure, you should give the hotel a call directly.
We'll be at the Contemporary in 2 days! Maybe, we'll see you there!!!

Similar question, I'm pretty sure they do but want to verify, one of the gift shops carries cases of water right? Any idea of how much it costs? I need bottle water to make my sons bottles and rather just spend the cash when I get there as opposed to weighing down my luggage. Thanks!

I didn't see any at the POP gift shop when we were there in May. But I can't speak for the Cont gift shop as we haven't stayed there yet. We plan to order a case of water from garden grocer for our Nov trip.

We got water there last October. $15 for a case I believe?

They had water at Poly and POFQ gift shops and it was $6.39 a case. Other resorts also have been reported to carry water in the gift shop. If it's not there, ask.

Last August, my DH and youngest DD went parasailing at CR. They loved it and said they never even touched the water so no worries about alligators :).

Are any SV GW views better than another? I'd love to have my room ready when we arrive (before noon) if possible, but didn't want to make that my primary request if there's something else I should be considering? I know our view will be of a parking lot :)

I can't remember how we've done it in the past, but I think we just request this the same as we would any other room request.

Quick related story. We stayed at the CR on our honeymoon 10 years ago. We requested a MK view room (this was back when you didn't pay extra for the MK view, instead there was only one room category, and the room assigners gave you either a MK view or lake view) and a king bed. We were given the MK view, but the double beds. Because it was our honeymoon, we really wanted the king bed. So we called the front desk and explained the situation. They were able to give us a king bed, but in a lake view room instead. This was a blessing in disguise. First of all, we fell in love with the lake view and that's the view we request every trip now. (We even turned down an upgrade to a MK view room a few years ago.) Second of all, they were going through the transition from their old technicolor scheme to the more sleek color palate they have now. The MK view was the loud colors, the lake view was a recently renovated room. So it was a win-win-win for us!

Thanks so much for the info. Just look for the guy buying lactose free milk! :) Have a great trip!
