Great idea! But my eyes are always bigger than my stomach when it comes to those sugary devils.

Have fun and let us know how you liked it.

Then it's more CR photos to come:)

You're welcome!

You can see TE from the dock. At a very leisurely pace it's maybe 3 minutes.

Awesome! Thank you!

SO this morning I peeked and for 3 nights before my dd and I head to gf for our girls trip BLT 2br TPV opened up!!:yay:
We love that room and have never been able to find TPV! I am just not telling DH. If I tell him in advance he always says no but once summer actually here and he thinks about both kids being away it should be an easy sell;)
So add me KOOK 8/13-16 BLT! party:
Bumping

Should not have posted while you getting your pixie dust fix! lol!

The bathroom next to the Sand Bar does have a shower…well, at least the women's does:

This is a very nice ping-pong table and while we were there, Randy made a point of asking that better balls be ordered. He has a great attention to detail. The cart was only there because it was very early and the CM was watering the plants.

Thanks for more pics Kook but they're making me wish I was back there now :sad1:!

As for the ping pong table...DH & I stumbled on it when we were exploring the resort on our solo visit last October and ended up playing quite a few "friendly" games. We really had such a blast on that trip and can't wait to go back in August with our girls...hoping they like it as much as we did!

Kook, this last batch of pics are my fav. I spend a lot of time at the pool and beach area. I think its one of the best kept secrets of the deluxe hotels.

A nice drink on the beach then a quick dip in the hot tub:cloud9: then a splash in one of the few remaining deep pools(I have to stand on toes in center)!

There is a ping pong table inside the "C" at BLT as well. DH and DD had themselves a grand time once we discovered it.

Loving all the pics!

I apologize if this has already been asked, but what are the safety features on the balcony doors? I know DCL has a sort of deadbolt on their verandah doors--do the Contemporary's balcony doors have any similar features?

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the photos because I have more! The DIS is great for subjecting all of you to what family/non-Disneyphiles would never appreciate…like photos of cupcakes and bathrooms, (but not in the same frame, of course)…they just don't get it.

We are funny that way, aren't we??? :)

For the DxDP are you doing a TS breakfast and a two TS dinner? I've always planned it in my head that that would be the 'perfect' way, but we always use TiW so we never do the DDP.

That's exactly what we're doing, with one day flipping for CRT for 2 TS breakfast and I think Kona for dinner. Doing three TS meals a day is crazy, we tried it once many years back, and after a day or two, we cancelled a bunch of ADRs, two is the limit. Either snack for breakfast, early TS lunch and then TS dinner, or TS big breakfast and TS dinner is usually the best bet. We also like the TIW, and haven't done any dining plan in 4 or 5 years, but our TIW expired, and the day we arrive, we may not have time to hit Guest Services before dinner. Also we're eating two expensive meals on July 4th which is a TIW black out day. So we thought about it a lot and crunched the numbers, and really we're saving close to zero going with the DxDP, but then we thought it would be a good chance to eat at pricey places like CRT and Chef Mickey's ($40 pp for breakfast... ***?), but then not feel bad about those meals since we've pre-paid and the money is long gone. :) And of course now I'll have to get the Surf and Turf at Narcoossee's since we're on the plan. And I have to find the most expensive thing at California Grill! Somewhat kidding about the last two, but that's the mindset you develop.

I'm new on this thread, as we have just booked a trip and plan to stay at the contemporary in the fall. I chose a theme park view (as a surprise for my husband and kids as we are celebrating our anniversary and a kid's birthday on this trip), and am already thinking about online check in and the requests that can be made. We went last fall and stayed at Pop and I had found all kinds of great info regarding "where to stay" / "where not to stay", where the best views are, etc. Any information from any contemporary veterans out there as to suggestions for special requests during check in?? TIA!

I am loving your pictures, WDWKOOK! Thank you for posting the pool bathroom picture! I was wondering about whether or not there were showers there. We are arriving very early in the day and we are planning on spending several hours at the pool. I like to shower the chlorine out of our hair after swimming, and if our room's not ready, we can shower at the pool before going to eat lunch, etc.

I just looked at My Disney Experience this morning, and we have 43 days to go!

This may help someone. One of our cr CL trips the cm told us we SHOULD and could use the bathroom area at the gym for early arrival or departure days. It worked great. I was the the only one in there and it was spacious and clean. :)

I can't help with requests, but wanted to say welcome to the CR thread and I hope you have a great stay this fall :wizard:.

Request an odd numbered room for a view of the castle while you are in bed. Some people request to be on the opposite end from Chef Mickey's because of noise. We didn't have that problem, but we were over the Contempo Cafe part & could only hear the music if we were standing at the room door. Go ahead & ask for high floor too for a better view.

This is no longer true at the BC/YC. The gym is run by a new company, and only those using the gym or spa facilities can shower now.

This is exactly what I was wondering about!!! Thank you!
