I just realized that I was in my booking window for my March visit. I kind of panicked and looked at a few menus and made a few reservations. Do you recommend any of these or recommend cancelling any? 2 adults, one has dietary restrictions and can't eat gluten. I prefer not much fried food because we're going on a cruise right after and I don't want to feel dragged down.

MK: Skipper Canteen
Epcot: Updated to trying for Space 220
Hollywood studios: Brown Derby

We'll also have a full resort day at Copper Creek. I think all the restaurants there sound good and I haven't made any reservations. I think I can just join a walk-up list and be happy anywhere there. That said, let me know if I should make a reservation for anything. It's a full day (breakfast lunch and dinner).

I'm struggling with MK dining. Do you know anything about either Skipper Canteen or the Plaza?
As was said the Skipper Canteen is a bit non-traditional, but many consider it one of the best TS at MK.

I have enjoyed the Plaza several times. The food is pretty standard stuff but we have always enjoyed.

Also consider Liberty Tree if you like the typical Thanksgiving dinner.

Overall MK is not an award-winner when it comes to TS.

I don't often come across people who've felt Be Our Guest was worth it since it changed several years ago.

My family often likes to leave MK and go to one of the nearby resorts for a meal.

We find 'Ohana, Whispering Canyon, Steakhouse 71...even the Grand Floridian Cafe (especially for brunch!) to be better options for us than pretty much anything at MK.

Of the restaurants within MK, Tony's seems to get a bad rap from many because there's nothing "special" about it, but my family has always enjoyed it just fine. Granted, it's a lot of pasta, so not the most gluten-free friendly, but there are some things like the salmon and braised beef that I would think would be easy enough to ensure are gluten-free.

I am almost positive it was Skipper Canteen that told us their entire menu is now 100% gluten free without modifications. But I cant for the life of me remember for certain if it was there specifically. DW is GF and always enjoys her meal there. I would 100% cancel Be Our Guest, it’s way over priced and not great food. The Brazilian Cheese bread is GF and they will appreciate having something that is bread adjacent that differs from the allergy friendly bread they will get elsewhere. We ALWAYS eat here on every trip and have never been disappointed. They update their menu regularly to introduce new things as well.

At Copper Creek I would recommend booking Whispering Canyon for breakfast. Most everything they have is GF and if you like BBQ you can get most of their BBQ offerings at breakfast and be full most of the day lol.

La Cellier was a clutch pickup, love that place. Brown Derby is also great, you wont be sad there.

While LeCellier has its fans, I find it an over priced basement room with little to recommend it. There are much better options in the Epcot world showcase and just outside the international gate at Yacht Club and on the Boardwalk.

I used to be a Le Cellier fan. Looked at the menu and the cost and compared in my head to our last family visit. It's sky high.

Also, they've changed stuff. There are still a few things I would go to try but none include the high priced steaks. I might enjoy the King salmon. I tried the soup this past fall at the food and wine festival and I was disappointed. It wasn't any good and my pretzel roll was dry and a bit stale. I have the original recipe and it's been changed. I may get to try it again next year, and I will, just in case it's just me.

Problem is I'm getting older and I just can't eat a lot of foods - they are no longer appealing, such as mountains of meat. I think I'm slowly turning into a veggie lover and a small portion person in general.

Brown Derby has delighted me and disappointed me over the years with their Cobb Salad. I've had it a lot. I think who prepares it makes a difference, so sometimes you win and sometimes you get chunks instead of finely chopped.

Be Our Guest: I've had lunch and dinner there a number of times, but not the 1 price thing at all.

Over all I preferred lunch. Dinner was just okay. The rooms were fun. The Beast was gracious. Probably never going back until it tries another iteration.

Totally agree. I don't understand why Le Cellier is so highly rated.

I am fine with a low-quality steak, for a reasonable price - but Le Cellier is expensive. And I'm fine with an expensive steak, as long as the meat is high-quality - but Le Cellier is not high-quality steak.

Combine that with it being loud and cramped, and I have no interest in going back.

At Epcot, I enjoy just eating from the festival booths and trying several things instead of a sit down meal. Sounds like you'd be there during Flower and Garden?

Potentially Flower and Garden. It'll be March 2, which I thought wasn't exactly Flower and Garden but they might be setting up stuff. Gluten is the main restriction for my husband, but there are others. It's easier for him to manage at a sit down restaurant. He can't eat nightshades and pretty much everything Disney has nightshades either in the seasoning or its the main side. If we sit down and order, usually they can come up with an adjustment. I don't think the booths (at least the ones in California) can make significant changes to accomodate him.

Add me to the Skipper Canteen chorus. I like it--probably because it is a little bit unusual--and it's my go-to in MK for a sit-down meal.

Le Cellier is a perfectly adequate steakhouse, but any mid-sized city will have something just as good. In a park where there are so many good dining options, this is one I would skip*.

I like Brown Derby, though I confess I don't go there all that often. The two "gimmick" places are often higher on my want-to list, though that might not be true this year. Without kids, 50sPT is less fun, and we ate at Sci Fi last year.

*: I ate at LC exactly once---right after they switched from a 1-credit to a Signature location. For the first month or so, they had a menu that was at least trying to be worthy of the Signature moniker. I ordered a venison dish that was lovely. By my next trip, they had neutered the menu again, and went back to offering pretty much what they always had been doing---probably because so many people were furious that the peppercorn filet was dropped. I haven't been back since.

Why is it so popular? I think at least part of the reason is that it is among the least exotic options in a park with a lot of different cuisines. If you have a picky eater and/or a meat-and-potatoes person in your party, this is a pretty safe bet.

I'm still holding Le Cellier, but also just booked Topolios. I might cancel one or both. Follow up questions.

How much time would it take to leave the park to go to Topolinos and go back to the park? Not anything about how long the meal is. I don't really want to leave the park. So, if it takes much time, it's a no go for this time.

Any feedback for Space 220? The menu looks very basic. My husband would get the burger. Worth it at all?

How are the counter service meals/snacks in Epcot? Is it realistic to just wing it and not have reservations anywhere and get good food that isn't fried, all gluten, etc.? We could probably get a late night meal back at the Wilderness Lodge if we need to.

I like the Space 220 Lounge better than regular dining.
(Geo 82 good adult spot…especially if snag a late spot like 8:50pm..get the EPCOT show experience without having to book that expensive snack viewing).

I’d be looking into nearby Yachtsman Steakhouse (at Yacht Club) or Bourbon Steak (at Dolphin). Would rank bit higher than Le Cellier. But Le Cellier is still solid choice.

For Topolino’s, I’d probably budget 20-30 each way & give myself 1 1/2- 2 hours for dinner time. (2 1/2-3 hours). (If going Skyliner to eat….Sabastian’s at Carribean Beach is a well priced good meal spot. (About same time period going there).
