Perfect, thanks Kook!

Oh and one more question! If we are at Epcot for night EMH, I assume that we just head for the bus stop at closing because the monorail won't be running, correct?

Hey guys I just have a quick question. My fiancé and I are checking in to the CR on Sunday may 17th for our disneymoon and have a theme park view room. How do I request that I get a king size bed? Should I wait until I get there to request this? Also just to add some information I booked this through a travel agent. So should I contact the travel agent and make sure they put a request in for that instead?

If you booked through a travel agent, then you should absolutely have her make the request for you. If you don't want to bother with that, you can just call disney at (407) 939-1936 and make the request. I don't know if you can do it through MDE or not.

Monorail hours posted last week at CR.

Epcot PM April EMH ends at 11:00 so you should be able to take the monorail.

Unfortunately, you can't make room location requests via MDX and if you booked through a TA or travel agency like Orbitz, the TA owns/controls the reservation so you have to go through them to add requests.

Spoiler alert: This was our last time at CA Grill - we won't be returning.

We had to try it one more time after our bad Christmas Day '13 experience, but we all agreed that we have no desire to return. We had better service this time, but the menu just isn't to our liking anymore.

The sushi still isn't up to what it was when Chef Yoshie worked there. She was a sushi artist who truly cared about her art. It used to be such a treat to order sushi there when it was a main culinary focus. The sushi is still served, but it is a generic sampling that is now uninspired, but at even higher rates than when Chef Yoshie worked there. The other offerings are odd concoctions that you sense are trying to be edgy and give a unique spin to an old favorite. But, the attempts fall short and I was left wishing that the old favorite was in front of me rather than the edgy version. The desserts are a good example of this:

~Chocolate Pudding Cake. Why not a nice chocolate cake or torte like they used to serve? This chocolate Pudding cake is made with Nutella. I like pudding and Nutella, but not combined in my cake.

~Breakfast for Dessert. This is a pecan-cinnamon roll with candied bacon, Kahlua-latte anglaise, and cream cheese ice cream, yes, cream cheese. I might put this in the Breakfast for Breakfast category, but not dessert after a fancy meal.

~Sundae Sampler. Frangelico toffee, reverse root beer float, and banana split. Again, they are trying way too hard to make this the same, yet different.

They also had a crab fritter on the appetizer menu that was intriguing until it was further described to us as being sprinkled with powdered sugar like a donut. I shook my head at this one and told the server that I wasn't really prepared to precede my sushi with powered donut-like crab fritters.

I had the squash and mascarpone ravioli. It was very tasty, but again, I wondered why mascarpone, traditionally used in desserts, was being commingled with my squash entree and then served next to tiny baby carrots. My entire plate was orange.

I think CA Grill has "outgrown" us and we prefer the old CA Grill over the edgy revamp so we won't be returning and I can't even recommend it.

Thanks for the review. I booked my husband and I a dinner here, and I've been having second thoughts about it. I'm really leaning towards canceling at this point.

CC is the only self-service location at CR. In the past, (I didn't do it this trip), you could go to any pool's QS/bar location with your mug and the CM would pour a beverage into a cup and hand it to you to put in your mug. For hygiene reasons they couldn't accept your mug for refills. Now with RR, I suspect this isn't possible because of the use of the RFID chip to indicate whether your mug is eligible for a refill.

This is disappointing news. We have always gotten the mugs and were able to use them at the pool to get drinks when we stayed at the other resorts on property. That's the one place where we actually used them a lot.

Apologies for posting about the crab fritter topped with powdered sugar - that was actually the previous night at Yachtsman Steakhouse, not CA Grill. I deleted it from my review.

Thanks for your CG review, I'm sorry you had another not-so-good experience. CG has been on our list to try, but I have read many negative reviews since the revamp that it's just not appealing to me anymore.

I agree, it's very disappointing. We are booked at the GF in August and while I have been contemplating switching to the CR, this might keep me from doing that. This would be a resort only trip for us with a lot of resort/pool time, so not having a convenient place to refill our mugs would be a problem.

Oh, that's disappointing. We'll just have to pop by the sand bar and see if they'll help us refill our mugs, and if not, one of us will just have to dry off and head inside to the 4th floor to grab refills as needed. A little extra walking never hurt anyone, right?

I'm sure this is covered but finding it in the 118 pages would take a really long time so I am just going to ask.

We have never stayed at the CR before and we have a Garden Wing Garden View room booked. We are attending MNSSHP so the CR seems like the perfect place.
Are there refrigerators in this room?

Thank you!

Welcome to the thread. All rooms have a fridge, however, they don't have a freezer section. This photo is from the ROOM chapter of the thread, POST 5.

What did you think of the crab fritter at YS? I actually had it last time we were there. I thought it was so-so, but the stuff underneath was actually really good. It was a "wont order again" item though. Thanks for the rest of the review. I'll try to stick to the non-breakfasty items! Since we're doing the DX Dining Plan this trip (short trip and sig every night, plus actually trying CRT for the first time), it won't hurt as much when we've prepaid the bill already.

So I am trying to work in a few days family time since ds will also we away at school next year. I tried December/January but everyones days didn't match up:rolleyes2

SO this morning I peeked and for 3 nights before my dd and I head to gf for our girls trip BLT 2br TPV opened up!!:yay:

We love that room and have never been able to find TPV! I am just not telling DH. If I tell him in advance he always says no but once summer actually here and he thinks about both kids being away it should be an easy sell;)

So add me KOOK 8/13-16 BLT! party:T

Some interior CR room photos taken last week. There are four drawers total all pictured below. Each closet has shelving and there is also some shelving next to the TV/mirror. All rooms, with the exception of suites, Deluxe rooms and Tower Club rooms, look like this, though a few rooms have one king Vs. two queens:
