Here is a picture of the mussels appetizer from CG:

We had a great time! The app was plenty enough for me for dinner. Dd got California roll and said biggest she has ever seen.

I was worried after reading so many poor reviews last year. Our server was awesome too:)

We are booked in a Tower room/BLV, but are definitely going to be doing some laundry during this stay. Does anyone have any recommendations for room(s) and/or floors I may want to request to try to be closest to the Garden Wing/laundry facilities? Or am I silly for even bringing this factor into my decision because the distance will be mostly insignificant for something we'll only do once or twice during our trip? Thanks for any advice - I've tried figuring it out using the CR room map, but I'm apparently somewhat map-challenged

Hello all! Staying at Bay Lake Tower for the first time in March 2015. My husband and I will be there with six of our children, including a two and four year old. I am concerned about the balcony doors. Does anyone know if they have latches at the top of the doors that little ones cannot reach? We normally stay at the Poly, and they have them there. Haven't heard anyone mention them here....

Well you will have to walk down the hall, then take elevator to floor one. Then walk outside and the laundry is in GW. So really unless you ask for room near elevator, I am not sure it will matter. (10th floor and 5th floor from same area will be same walking).

I will recommend putting your laundry in a bag and stick that in your rolling suitcase to transport. I have seen people do that and it seems easier than "carrying" your laundry.

I don't use the laundry often but be aware. If you leave your stuff and it stops people WILL dump your things to put in theirs. I remember leaving pool every 5/10 minutes to check but not good enough . My stuff dumped. That was POP, CBR and poly. I haven't used CR's. At BLT it was in our room:thumbsup2

We are now back home:confused3

Had a super vacation, aside from ds being poorly.

Loved the contemporary-was everything I imagined it to be.

Thanks for all the kind wishes for ds-he's now tucked up in bed watching TV.:)

Does anyone know how much the CR charges us to have water shopped by amazon? I heard that they charge a fee. We dont want to use garden grocer bc its a $40 minimunm plus delivery and we ONLY want water. Any experiences or suggestions on sending/shipping water to this resort? (we will not have a car btw so we wont be able to drive to store, etc.) Thank you so much!!

We arrive in 12 days!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hi
I am going to the CR for my upcoming trip in December for one night & then going on to the WL & then over to the BWI.

I was able to book under the military discount the standard king size bed club level on the 14th floor. As I looked at the floor plan that was in the first post on this thread. It shows only 2 rooms with the king size bed facing the MK. So given that I know I got the MK (also talked to the IPO & a manager at the CR and was told that as well) I requested a certain room.

My question is hope that the 14th club floor will be a good choice. Or trying getting a pass holder room rate at the Grand Floridian ? Those choices are outer buildings and Sugar loaf rooms.

So any help will be appreciated & yes I read this thread but really didm' find too much on what my concerns. Thanks:goodvibes

We got a generous pin code and stayed in one of those two king Tower Club rooms this past April. For one night you would probably enjoy the huge balcony and the lounge is lovely. I would not stay in our room--4911--again, though, even with a discount. Here is how I described it to somebody earlier in this thread:

"We were told that all Tower King rooms had a MK view and ours did. We had room 4911 in April and while clean and comfortable and close to the lounge, it has not been refurbished to the level of the other rooms in the resort (we stayed MK view 8th floor in 2008 and were expecting that level of room), no desk and desk chair, no computer, sofa, etc. The furniture was Motel 6 style with a lamp with an ugly hanging cord and the bathroom (shower stall only, no tub) had no shelving so shampoo and soap had to sit on the floor. Very unsafe. There was a bidet, making the bathroom cramped. There were robes, and the balcony was gigantic with a great view. We wouldn't stay in that room again--it was really pretty ugly--but that is probably why we received a generous pin code for it."

You should be able to purchase bottled water at one of the gift shops - that's what we did during our stay at the Poly last spring. It wasn't cheap - maybe $15/case, but CR charges by the size/weight of the package (see OP), so while you will likely save money by purchasing the water elsewhere, any savings would be eaten up by the pick up cost for such a heavy item. Have a great trip!!!!

Wow, so each WDW resort has a different policy for handling packages??
We stayed at WL in May and had several boxes shipped there prior to our arrival and weren't charged anything (and that's what I'd heard/read, so didn't seem unusual.) :confused3

Hi All!!

We leave in 12 days for our FIRST stay at CR!!! :cool1: It is a Room Only Passholder Rate, and I am going to call today to pay the balance in full, and I wondered if that is the best time to make a room request?

We are staying Atrium CL--Standard Room. So, maybe room request isn't even necessary! Any tips or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you all so much!!

We weren't charged at Poly, either, but as CR is a "conference center resort" it's handled a little different there.

Hi There
We will be staying at BLT in a two bdrm villa in November and need a full size crib for my one year old GS. My daughter prefers not to use a pack n play for him. I am hoping someone has some information regarding the hotel having cribs or renting from an outside vendor.
This will be our first stay at BLT and our grandchildren's first visit to WDW :cool1: we are very excited!
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi CR peeps!

Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

If anyone is looking for a Contemporary Resort Garden Wing, garden view standard 12/9-12...just cxl'd our reservation...we decided to stay at Poly instead!

Have a great time at the Poly :goodvibes.

Thanks so much for your help.

My baby is now 11 so its been 10 years since I've used them but I used A Baby's Best Friend (www.abbf.com). I recommended them to a friend who used them 2 years ago. We both had great service from them and clean equipment. :thumbsup2

Thank you, LovesDumbo. I checked out their website and the crib looks great ....and we can even rent a stroller from them! Really appreciate your help.
